"It is happening." Scarlett heard Avery say from the restroom before the music began.
It was challenging for her to stand up straight due to the music's noise. Scarlett held on to the table while maintaining a fixed gaze on the moon. She could feel the strain in her veins and her body beginning to perspire.
The sound of the clocks chiming got louder. Keeping her friends safe was a priority for her. If Avery is right and she is going to become a werewolf, then she doesn't want to hurt them.
When she heard the clock stop, Scarlett immediately felt awful inside. A sharp pain sliced through her back, forcing her to her knees. It went on for a moment or two and then stopped. Cold sweat ran down her face, and her clothes were soaked.
Another agonizing pain ripped through her stomach, and she screamed in agony. An intense heat wave swept over Scarlett. When it started, it ended immediately. She turned away from the moon.
