"Cornelia. Come on. You don't want Mrs. O'Hara to suspect something, do you?" Avery whispered, dragging Cornelia along so they could get out of Scarlett's room.
Last night, none of them had seen what had happened, and they'd only opened the door after an hour of Scarlett locking herself in. The both of them had thought she would have gone back to her normal human form, but instead were shocked when they didn't see Scarlett in the bathroom when they opened the door. They'd seen glasses everywhere and decided to clean up, and they'd also noticed the red moon, which scared Cornelia to death.
Avery had called her family's glazier that morning and sent the measurement for Scarlett's window so that it could be fixed without the family member noticing.
"Avery, I'm scared. What if Mrs. O'Hara finds out that Scarlett is now a god? I can't tell lies. You know I can't." She clung to the door handle and stopped Avery from leaving the room.
