Chapter 542 - Subduing the Rosier Family (2 in 1,000)

He looked down in a daze and was horrified to find that his wand had been cut in half. The cut was smooth and smooth, as if it had been cut by a sharp blade and carefully polished.

Crack …

At that moment, there was another loud cutting noise behind them, and the old Rozier instinctively turned to look. A large patch of tall bushes had been cut off, and a thick tree nearby shook and fell to the ground a moment later, kicking up a cloud of dust.

As far as he could see, there was a fan-shaped area where all the objects were of the same height, and the flatness was frightening.

Rosier swallowed hard, understanding that Ivan had not missed, but had deliberately let him go. If the attack had been aimed at him, he would have been cut in half like the tree.

What shocked old Rosier even more was that such an attack could not be seen or touched at all. Its penetrative range was extremely wide, and he was certain that even if he had prepared protective measures in advance, they would have been penetrated instantly. There was no way to defend against it!

With this attack, the elder Rossier confirmed that Dougett was telling the truth. He had never seen the Dark Lord cast a spell, but he was probably close.

At this thought, the old Rozier was ready to admit defeat. The fact that Ivan did not kill him immediately meant that there was still a chance of mitigating the situation. The question was how much it would cost…

However, when he turned around, he saw his house-elf attacking Ivan.

"Stop it, you idiot!" Rossier Senior screamed, his eyes bulging.

His wand had just been cut off by Ivan, which meant that he had lost all ability to fight back. If the house-elf he had brought accidentally injured the young wizard in front of him, he would be dead!

There was no possibility of escape.

However, the old Rosier was clearly too slow. The house-elf had already reached out his hand, and a blinding beam of light shot out from his fingers, heading straight for Ivan.

Ivan's expression did not change as he instantly activated the protective ring on his right hand. Without any movement, the spell beam returned the way it came and sent the house-elf flying.

Before Ivan could continue his punishment, the old Rosier lunged forward and grabbed the house-elf by the neck.

"You lowly half-breed, who gave you the nerve to attack Sir Harris?!"

The old Rosier's face was ferocious, and he did not hold back at all, trying to strangle the house-elf to calm Ivan's anger.

Without his wand, he could only resort to this primitive method!

Despite his age and infirmity, Rosier was strong, and the house-elf, who had been rebounded by his charm, was now being strangled, his face purple and his bulb-sized eyes bulging.

The ugly, wrinkled face was blank and confused.

The house-elf obviously did not understand what it had done wrong. It acted on the orders of old Rosier, who had ordered it to attack the enemy in times of crisis to buy time for its master to escape.

Rosier Senior had apparently forgotten all about his original instructions, or perhaps he simply didn't want to think about it and blamed the house-elf.

Just as the house-elf was about to die, Ivan spoke again.

"Stop it! What a clumsy trick!"

The elder Rosier's hands trembled, and he released the unconscious house-elf, afraid to disobey Ivan's orders. Then, afraid to stand up, he crawled on his knees to Ivan and begged him.

"Sir Harls, please give me a chance. I would give anything to have you understand…"

"Let's not waste time with this nonsense… Where's the information I want?" Ivan asked, interrupting old Rosier, who was not easy to control.

If that information was useless, there would be no need for old Rosier to live…

Rossier Senior shuddered and hurried on.

"There will be a secret meeting tomorrow at three o'clock in the afternoon in the Wizarding Market, in the Chamber of Secrets. All of us will be there, because the Chamber of Secrets has been enchanted with anti-Disillusionment magic. As long as you can seal off the entrance, no one will be able to escape!"

"Are you sure?" Yvonne raised her eyebrows. If so, it was good information.

The fact that wizards could Disapparate gave him a headache, as it meant that they were difficult to capture, and even if he managed to locate them, they would probably be gone before he could get inside.

It was not impossible to force their way into the Wizarding Market and occupy it, but it might cause some damage, and it might cause trouble in the future if the members of the pure-blood families were not completely dealt with.

"Tell me… what was the purpose of your gathering? Why did you choose that place?" Ivan asked.

Though Rosier Senior seemed too frightened to lie, Ivan had to be cautious. What if this was a trap?

No matter how unlikely, he had to guard against it.

"This meeting was proposed by the Norts, and we've lost more men in the last two days than we expected, so this time the old Norts want to get us all together to work out a strategy.

The location was chosen to be in the Wizarding Market's underground Chamber of Secrets because it was secure enough, heavily protected, and protected by anti-Apparition magic.

In the face of Ivan's questioning, Rosier didn't dare to hide anything. He spilled everything he knew, and even took out a map from his pocket with a trembling hand and handed it over…

"This is a map of the Chamber of Secrets, which was funded by several of our families. All the secret passages and entrances are depicted on it," Rosier Senior added.

Yvonne examined the map and saw that the Chamber of Secrets was quite large. The common room, meeting room, and living quarters were well-stocked with passes, making it look like a small fortress. No wonder the meeting was held there.

It would not have been easy to take the city without the traitor Rosier himself, and it would have been even more impossible to capture all of them at once.

"Very good, very good. I can feel your sincerity." Ivan put the map away and looked at Rosier Senior more gently.

What he lacked most at the moment was time. He would soon have to leave Knockturn Alley for his appointment with Nick Flamel, and he could not stay there for long. Rosier Senior was giving him the perfect opportunity to get rid of the pure-blood families once and for all without further trouble.

He was relieved to hear this, knowing that his life was saved.

Ivan, however, had no intention of letting him off the hook so easily. He forced old Rosier to sign a magical contract in order to ensure that Rosier would not suddenly go back on his word or try anything funny.

Ivan felt that only a magical contract could make such a cunning coward more reliable.

Rosier didn't have the courage to refuse. His life was in Ivan's hands, and he had no bargaining power.

After giving instructions and setting a time for the raid, Ivan cast a stray glance at the scattered Galleons.

There seemed to be at least five hundred of them, dazzling in the sunlight…

Ivan had not expected Rosier Sr. to be willing to pay five hundred Galleons to see him perform a spell.

In theory, he had already fulfilled the second condition of the old Rosier, and the money was now his, but Ivan had to give up the idea in order to maintain his aloof image.

He had no choice… he could not bring himself to pick it up!
