Chapter 518 - Fierce Fire? Fierce Fire!

With this in mind, Ivan did not hesitate any longer. He followed the instructions in the book and condensed the destructive emotions into flames!

To Ivan's slight surprise, it was easier than he had expected. As the strengthened runes on the wand lit up one by one, a wisp of heart-stopping magic fire floated out from the tip of the wand and quickly expanded…

"Reducto! (Shattered to pieces)" Sirius waved his wand and sent several Inferi trying to get close to him flying. He then gasped for breath as he watched the Inferi with missing limbs and even half of their heads rise from the ground.

This could not go on, and in Sirius's moment of panic, he felt a flash of fire behind him.

He tilted his head and saw a large red flame sweep past him and crash into the group of Inferi.

Like a rain of fire, sparks of fire quickly spread out. When they touched the Yin Corpses, the flames quickly rose, turning them into human-shaped torches!

An astonishing number of Inferi could not resist the fire at all, and in an instant, they became the best fuel, fueling the fire again and again. Soon, the sparks spread into a sea of fire…

A large amount of fire spontaneously gathered and transformed into a phoenix. It chirped happily, sounding like the crackling sound of an Inferius being burned.

'That's a Fire-Beater?' Sirius asked, instantly recognising the fire he had used against the Death Eaters.

Because of this, Sirius stared at Ivan in bewilderment, unable to understand how Ivan could possibly know such a dangerous spell.

"I happened to see it in the book when I was looking for information on Horcruxes. I didn't expect it to be useful!" Ivan explained casually, his tone exceptionally relaxed. The Yin Corpses around Li Huo were no longer a threat to him.

Ivan gently waved his wand, and the Fire Phoenix followed his movement, flapping its wings and swarming towards the large number of Inferi behind him.

Fearful of fire, the Inferi's faces twisted in fear, but they had no time to dodge, and they collided head-on with the phoenix of fire.

The sound of sizzling meat echoed around the lake, and a large number of Inferi seemed to have been thrown into a furnace, and flames hot enough to burn souls covered their bodies.

When the Fire Phoenix swept past, hundreds of Yin Corpses fell to the ground in flames and were devoured by the Fire Phoenix…

Sirius took all of this in, but he did not look happy at all.

"Fiery Fire is a very dangerous and uncontrolled form of Dark Magic, and you'd better not use it if you can help it. I once saw a Dark Wizard die from the backfire of his own Fire, and it seems there's a good reason why it's classified as cutting-edge Dark Magic!"

The fact that Ivan was able to learn the Fire-Writing Charm after reading a book indicated that he was highly talented in the Dark Arts, which was why Sirius was worried that Ivan would be intoxicated by the destructive power of the Dark Arts.

Ivan's expression became more serious, and although he did not reply, during the course of directing the destruction of the Inferi, he realised that, unlike other spells, which were gentle and obedient, the Inferi were unusually violent.

Especially after turning hundreds of Yin Corpses into nourishment, the phoenix transformed by Li Huo had grown to a length of more than ten meters. Without his command, it split into small phoenixes that actively attacked the nearby Yin Corpses, constantly growing.

It wasn't that Ivan hadn't used Fire before, but that was with the help of a magical tool, and the Fire he summoned never had the chance to inflate to this extent.

He wasn't sure if this was due to the effects of the strengthened runes, but if he hadn't done so before, he wouldn't have been able to cast the Fire-Enhancing Charm in this restricted area!

Woo…

Ivan was barely able to keep the fire under control, when a deep, drawn-out howl came from nearby.

"That's great, it's Professor Lupin!" Ivan turned to look at them, his face lit up with joy. They could finally leave.

A short while later, a tall werewolf with grayish-black fur ran toward them from an empty spot on the left side that had not yet been covered in fire.

A few Yin Corpses blocked his path, but he slapped them away and sent them rolling on the ground.

The tall werewolf ignored the Inferi and leapt towards them, glancing at Regulus, who was being carried on Sirius' back.

"It seems your operation went well?"

"Yeah, it's just going to be a little tougher than you think!" Ivan said with a shrug.

"Wait a minute… Lupin?! Why are you a werewolf? I don't think there's a full moon today, is there?" Sirius was very surprised, as he had never known that a werewolf could transform outside of a full moon.

"You'll have to ask Ivan. I don't know the exact reason." Lupin was confused. He had only drunk the potion as instructed and then tried to transform. He hadn't expected it to work.

Sirius turned his curious gaze to Ivan.

"I don't think this is the time for small talk," Ivan said. "We'd better get out of here."

After devouring thousands of Inferi, the Fire Phoenix had grown to dozens of meters long. It kept splitting into more flames that spread in all directions.

Ivan was more concerned about the fact that the nearby Inferi had been burned to ashes, and that many more were hiding in the lake in fear of the flames.

"Where's Dobby?" Yvonne asked, looking around anxiously.

"Dobby … Dobby's here, sir!"

As soon as Ivan finished speaking, a green-skinned house-elf ran out from behind Lupin, panting. It was obviously not easy to catch a werewolf on its short legs.

"I'm so glad you're all right!" Ivan exclaimed in relief. As he relaxed, his control over the fire weakened.

Flames were already spreading towards them, surrounding them.

Ivan quickly ordered Dobby to transport him and Lupin, while Kreacher took care of Sirius and Regulus.

"Don't hesitate, now!" Ivan grabbed Dobby, then Lupin's wolf paw, as Kreacher and Sirius prepared themselves.

As the flames drew closer, the two house-elves cast their teleportation spells at the same time, and two vortices engulfed everyone.

A second after Ivan disappeared, the Fire Phoenix lost control and exploded into a sea of fire, devouring everything around it…
