Chapter 343 - Mother and Son Mixed Doubles

Ivan wondered why Alicia was the only one there.

As Burke's attention was drawn to the pair, a window not far above them exploded and a brownish-grey werewolf leapt through it, crashing into the crowd and causing a commotion.

The grayish-brown werewolf was then forcibly dragged to the side by one of the black-robed wizards.

Doggett, Flun, and the others soon arrived, unleashing a few spells in quick succession, forcing the unsuspecting black-robed wizard to retreat.

"Godspeed!" Ivan shouted, taking advantage of the distraction to aim a Shadowless Curse at Burke, hitting him square in the chest.

Acacia locked her gaze on another Dark Wizard, and a blue light burst forth from the furry eyes on her shoulder, sucking in the Dark Wizard's mind.

In his moment of distraction, Alicia tapped her wand, and the Charm on her black silk glove lit up. Two spells instantly struck the Dark Wizard, sending him flying into the rubble.

Alicia then moved on to her next target, but this time, things did not go as smoothly as she had hoped. The effect on her opponent was limited, and he was able to quickly regain his composure. However, when he looked at her again, he was slightly afraid.

"Shattered!"

Before she could do anything else, a blinding flash of light came from the side, and she managed to dodge it. She turned to see Burke getting to his feet.

Burke put his hand to his chest and gave Ivan a dirty look, then turned to Alicia and spoke to the black-robed wizard nearby.

"Keep your eyes off the thing on her shoulder. Its eyes can affect your mind!"

Ivan was surprised to see Burke back on his feet, and cast a charm that sent the Dark Wizard who had been pestering him flying. Ivan studied Burke for a moment, and then noticed a crack on the ring on Burke's left finger.

It was most likely some sort of protective magical prop that had saved him…

Burke's gaze swept over the mother and son, and he heard a few screams from time to time. He did not dare to delay any longer, and with a flick of his wand, two eight or nine-meter-long black pythons emerged from the black fog.

"Penetrate!" the other Dark Wizard chanted again after casting the Shield Charm on himself.

As soon as Burke attacked, Ivan cast a Transfiguration Charm and transformed the nearest counter into a bull, which then charged at Burke and the others.

The two pythons bit the bull, but did not have much of an effect, and the Cruciatus Curse only made the bull more frenzied. Burke and the others could only fight and retreat, fighting their way from the reception room to the shop at the front desk.

As the multi-coloured rays of the charm passed through the dimly lit wizarding shop, the shelves and cabinets around the shop were instantly destroyed, collapsing under the force of the explosions…

Burke's heart ached so much that he could barely breathe. He fiercely cast a Smashing Charm, blasting the scarred bull to pieces. His expression changed as he rolled away from Ivan's invisible blade.

The other black-robed wizard was much weaker than the experienced Burke, and was soon seen through by Ivan and Alicia.

The mother and son took this opportunity to kill him with a few spells.

When the black-robed wizard fell to the ground, they were left alone with Burke.

As Ivan and Alicia approached, Burke gritted his teeth, steeled himself, and threw the Probing Eye in their direction.

"Split!" Ivan shouted, not daring to let the creature get close enough to him.

However, just as the Scouting Eye shattered, a piercing shriek echoed through the Wizarding Shop, and the glass dome surrounding the shop shattered.

Ivan felt as if something had pierced his brain and was stirring inside his head. He covered his ears, but he couldn't stop the noise from entering his head.

Asia's reaction was similar to Ivan's, and she was affected as well. For a time, the sounds of fighting and fighting throughout the Dark Arts shop were silenced and drowned out.

The only one unaffected was Burke. Without hesitation, he locked on to Ivan, the greatest threat, and sent a green light streaking through the air.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Alicia's heart clenched at the sight. She wanted to do something, but her head was too groggy to move.

Ivan was in better shape, having trained his Occlumency to nearly level five, and was able to retain some mobility, though not enough to evade the Killing Curse.

Fortunately, with a thought, the white light passed through the obstacles and transformed into a physical entity that actively faced the green light. In the end, it exploded into a cloud of light…

Cecilia died for him again!

Ivan's face darkened. The Bloodline Magic Unicorn's Shadow in the system column had turned black and grey and was temporarily unusable, but the danger was still there…

Burke raised his hand to cast another spell!

Ivan's dark eyes suddenly turned orange and snake-like, and as they stared at each other, Burke's raised hand stopped and he froze.

Ivan's little bit of magic power was like a floodgate that had been opened. More than half of it was drawn out, and with the piercing scream, Ivan's snake eyes were forced to stop after only a moment!

Luckily, at the same time, the Puffskin on Alicia's shoulder jumped.

As it flew through the air, the ball of fur extended to both sides of its mouth, revealing sharp, nail-like teeth that bit the immobile Burke!

It bit off a piece of his nose!

Burke let out a bloodcurdling scream and stopped his spell-casting.

At the same time, the piercing shriek that echoed through the Wizarding Shop was cut off, and Ivan and Alicia were able to move again.

"Explode!"

"Explode!"

The moment the shrieking stopped, the enraged mother and son worked together to cast a spell, and two large orange fireballs slammed into Burke, sending him flying.

By the time the smoke and dust cleared, Burke's robes were in tatters and he was lying in the rubble, howling in pain, the other ring on his left hand shattered.

It was clear that the protective prop absorbed most of the damage for him. Otherwise, he would have been blasted into pieces by the Thunderbolt Explosion.

Even so, Burke was unable to fight back, and his wand was buried in the rubble.
