Chapter 6 - Silver Moon Pack

Leila's pov~

I stepped outside of the mansion to take a slight walk. I needed somewhere to cool my head to think straight. I hugged myself tightly with my arms wrapped around me. I inhaled deeply as I looked up at the sky, which looked so calm and bright.

My feet led me to the garden at the back of the mansion. I gulped seeing how huge and beautiful this estate is.  I suddenly pause on my track. I hiss in pain for stepping on a stone and hurting my toes. I didn't bother to check on them as my eyes were so fixed on the back of my brother who l just saw sitting down on a rock while facing the fountain and throwing pebbles into it.

He looks so unlike himself, out of this world not to notice my presence with his credibility. I rub my feet together to bear the pain. "Brother…" I called him lightly to get his attention. Like magic, it worked. He stopped what he was doing and turned around. He cocked his brows the moment his eyes laid on me.

"Leila!!" He called out my name with a surprised tone. I smiled back at him softly. He stood up from the rock and walked towards me. He grabs my two hands, the moment he gets to me. Checking me up from head to toe. "Are you alright, why are you barefoot?" He implored. I can see the worry in his eyes. I shook my head lightly with a smile. "I chose brother, the ground feels warm." I countered. But I can see he's not happy with my response.

"Uhh, what are you doing here brother?" I decided to change the subject so as not to prolong the issue. I can see his eyes flicker for a minute before he sighs deeply and leads me toward the rock. He helped me to sit down and took the spot beside me. We remained sitting like that for some time without him saying anything to me. I took a slight glance at the right side of his face, and l can feel the sadness obvious on his face. His jaw clenched tightly as he stared ahead of the fountain.

"Are you still thinking of what Mr. Clinton said?" I ask him, reading every expression on his face. He gaps for air and holds the back of my palm. "Leila Pentagon," he called me by my full name for the first time. And I could tell from his downcast expression that there was more to it. "Mmm…" I respond while waiting for what is next to come.

"Have you ever given it a thought about why you look so different from us?" My brother asked, finally turning his face around to face me. My heart jolted hearing him. My brother has never acted seriously concerning this matter towards me.

I can see the sadness, and hurt in his eyes. I swallowed hard and inhaled deeply while blinking my eyes. I tried to hold back my tears as I started. "Brother, everything remains a mystery to me. Just like yesterday, we lost our parents, warriors, and our home. So brother, if you are asking me about that, I have no response for that." I voice out the pains in my chest while my tears still fall.

My brother wrapped his left arm around my shoulder and pulled me to his chest as he wiped the brim of my tears with his thumb. "Leila, I'm sorry if l hurt you with my question. I just gave it a thought, that our parents knew right from the start a day like this will come." My brother explained with certainty in his voice.  "So, what do we do now?" I ask, leaning on his chest while staring at the fountain before us.

"We do nothing." That was my brother's response. Did I hear wrong? I raise my head from his chest to look him in the eyes. "What do you mean?" I inquired. He raises the edge of his lips into a meaningful smile and glances at me. "Little sis, you will understand soon." He countered, leaving me confused.

"Greetings, Alpha." Daniel breaks the silence between us as he walks into the garden getting the attention of my brother. My brother glances up to meet his gaze. "It's set." He added while waiting for my brother's response. My brother on the other hand smiled. "Right timing." He said, looking back at me.

He stood up to his feet, while l joined him. He frowned the moment, his eyes fell on my feet, and I rubbed them together smiling cheekily. "Let's go." He instructed. We walked out of the garden to the mansion. I ran too close to him to keep up with their pace.

Inside the hall, everyone was present except one cocky man as my brother calls him 'Mr. Clinton' everyone from the top-ranked Wolf to the least who are the Gemmas is present. "How are the living conditions of the Silver Moon Pack members?" My brother inquired in his firm voice as he took the head seat. "Alpha, everything is already put in order. The whole pack members have settled down with their families in comfortable homes." Arther took the lead to concede while facing my brother. My brother nods his head in satisfaction and glances at Daniel who is standing beside Arther. "Have you verified every other place within the estate?" My brother implored.

"Yes Alpha, the Golden Estate is made up of a 300hundred residential building for occupants, a hospital, schools, a gym, a training ground with facilities, and life solitude," Daniel explained in detail leaving no stone unturned. I gasp in shock upon hearing his words. I looked at my brother who kept a straight face like it was something expected. Within me, I marveled at my parent's bravery and plans. What are they thinking this whole time? Why do l keep sensing something mysterious hovering but can't lay my finger on it?

My brother got up from his seat and stood up staring at everyone. "At the moment the ones with the profession in the pack will resume their duties at their current location. While we continue with the training. We need to build our Pack strongly and restore our Silver Moon Pack and protect ourselves from our hidden enemy…" my brother elucidated with his Alpha voice. "Yes, Alpha, to restore the Silver Moon Pack!!" Everyone in the room clamored together in excitement.
