Leila's Pov~
I watched as my mother's head and my father's heart were placed inside a transparent cube box that contained a light liquid. The Lycans carried the transparent box with them as they left, leaving the lifeless bodies behind. I slowly collapsed to the ground as the energy in me slipped away because my body couldn't take the trauma. I could not speak or move from where I was sitting as tears kept streaming down my eyes.
Seeing that the Lycans were gone, we all came out from our hiding place and ran back to where the lifeless bodies of my late parents and the silver moon pack warriors were to bury them. There's no time for digging graves and cremation. My brother, Arther, and the other ranked wolves in the pack gathered the bodies of the dead warriors together on top of a log of wood and placed my late parents' bodies on a separate log of wood. We paid our last respect to the dead and set their bodies ablaze.
But before that, I gave my parents' corpse one final last look before allowing my brother to set it ablaze. We watch as their corpses burn and raise down to ashes with solemn expressions. My brother stepped in front of the burning flame with his fists folded hard beside him while staring at the burning corpse with a cold gaze.
He fell to his knees and made a vow before the burning corpse of our parents and the silver moon pack. "I swear on the land that made me, your deaths will never be for anything.
Those beasts must pay for their crimes." He said, with so much animosity as he was breathing heavily. The pack members followed suit and made their claims. Throughout this whole time, I never said a word as l observed everything silently.
The sky suddenly rumbled with a loud thunderstorm and started raining down on us without warning. I guess the heavens have the right to be angry as well after witnessing today's ordeal. We moved forward and went back to the tree trunk to shelter from the rain. No one said a word to each other as our faces were covered in sadness. Luckily, it didn't take the whole day for the rain to stop.
After the rain stopped, we came out of the tree trunk and observed our surroundings. We realize something. Since the Lycans attacked our pack for no reason and killed our parents who were the Alpha and Luna of the silver moon pack. They will inevitably be back to wipe us all out, especially my brother who's now the new Alpha and the head of the pack. My brother glanced ahead and looked back at us and inhaled deeply.
"We will be taking that direction. I believe we will get to the next town if we keep following that road." He said as he pointed ahead with his left hand. After getting the responses from the pack members we followed the direction he chose. Throughout the entire time, Arther stood beside me, supporting me without leaving me out of his sight. He held my cold palms tightly with his.
We followed the path which led us out of the woods to a busy road. the road configuration was confusing at first. Looking at the road, not many people are moving around. We are much in number if we are to move like that and catch the eyes of people. Wouldn't it look suspicious? "Luther, what are we going to do?" Arther asked my brother whose eyes had been scrutinizing the whole place. He breathes deeply and glances at us as his eyes travel to the kids among us with their mothers. His eyes glowed brightly on realizing something. "That's it…" he muttered to himself but we all heard it. "That's what, Alpha?" another guy with braided blond hair cut in.
Everyone has the same curiosity in their eyes. My brother deep his hands into his pants pocket and brought out a small-sized pouch and showed it to us with a dry smile.
The others were confused as l was. If l remembered well, we escaped without anything including our phones. Everything was left behind. We are looking so dejected at the moment. "My father left these with me at the last… moment." My brother said, settling our minds. I can feel the change in the tone of his voice the moment he mentioned our father.
He brought out a credit card from the pouch and glanced at the guy with the braided blond hair. "Daniel, you will have to leave with me to find a clothes store nearby as fast as possible." He said without giving it a second thought. "Wait, what's the plan?" Luther cut in with a questioning gaze. My brother continued as he was putting back the pouch inside his pants pocket. "Here is the plan. I and Daniel, will go in search of a clothing store and get us some stuff that will make us look like a group of people touring around. Then you Arther, will stay with the rest till will return." My brother explains while glancing at all of us.
Daniel left with my brother in search of the clothing store while we stepped back into the woods and hid in a secluded corner as we awaited their return. In my mind, I kept praying for my brother's safety. We never said a word but stayed alert.
"Do you hear that?" Arther suddenly said, as his eyes searched around in vigilance. I guess everyone heard the noise judging by their reactions except me who didn't hear it. "It sounds like footsteps." Another Lady from the group expressed. Seeing the panic in the eyes of some of the pack members Arther calms everyone down. "The Alpha is back." Arther quickly said, with an assuring smile getting everyone to relax. "That's quick." Another man cut in. "He, mind-linked me." Arther, added, making everyone relax. Right then my brother walks in with Daniel following behind him with bags in his hands.
We didn't waste more time and changed into the clothes they bought and looked decent like the group of people in the tourism camp. We moved out of the woods to the clear road to meet a man fully clothed in a dark suit standing cross-leg in front of a white Bugatti Veyron with his arms folded right on his chest, his eyes covered with sunglasses staring at us across the road.
