"Mom, I've thought hard and long about it and I really wanna make things permanent with Marissa" Justin was speaking in a solemn tone to Karen.
Karen looked up at him. They were at their favorite Chinese restaurant having dinner. Justin had attended to a business client she introduced him to earlier.
"Permanent?How do you mean?"
"I want to get married to her."
Karen almost choked. She quickly grabbed the glass of water nearby and gulped half of it down.
"Are you okay Mom?" Justin asked, concerned, at the edge of his seat.
"I'm fine,"Karen cleared her throat."Are you sure about what you just said?"
Justin nodded affirmative.
"I'm one hundred percent sure. Marissa is who I want. I want her to spend the rest of her life with me. I want her to birth my kids."
"Wow," Karen swallowed hard."But you do know I do not like Marissa very much. Especially her family."
"But I'm in love with her. I don't think I've ever loved anyone as much."
