She was so glad her daughter was alright, or else even she herself didn't know what she would have done.
After all Monica was the only one who kept her living and she wouldn't want to take chances with her life.
"I'm really sorry mom...I really didn't mean to worry you..." Monica was saddened by the fact that her mom was so worried that she came back early from work.
She knew how busy her mom's schedule was and yet she rushed home because of her.
"Silly girl...how are you feeling...come have a seat..." Mrs Martha urged Monica to the sofa before checking if she was okay from head to toe.
During these twelve years, Mrs Martha has becomed an independent woman. After her training, she was appointed to a minor role in the finance department of which she grew until she became the Head of the Finance Department.
She was well respected among her colleagues. Everyone was aware of her situation so they were all friendly and accepted her wholeheartedly. Mrs Martha only cried about three times during the twelve years.
She still had some feelings for Mr Maxwell at the beginning but they gradually faded until no more was left.
Meanwhile, Mr Maxwell finally got an heir from Mrs Kira but she robbed him of his assets and properties and eloped with another man.
It was also discovered that the child was from the same man she eloped with and Mr Maxwell was left mourning with the little he had.
He came pleading for help from Mrs Martha After he went bankrupt and kept saying he has been brainwashed by Mrs Kira but Mrs Martha turned a blind eye to his plea and coldly rejected him. Since then, she has placed utmost focus on her life and her daughter without considering rubbish.
After Mrs Martha confirmed her daughter was in no serious pain she left her to rest and went to the kitchen to prepare Monica's favourite delicacies.
Monica was left in her room typing away on her phone while Mrs Martha went to the kitchen.
'I wonder how Max is doing...' Monica thought as she recollected his expression at the school's hospital.
She kept on thinking back on how terrible her first day was. She became the laughing stock and attracted a supreme enemy.
How exciting is it to be the talk of the whole school??Monica laughed to herself.
Half an hour later, Mrs Martha came to her room with the food. After she fed Monica a little, she gave her some instructions and reminded her to take care of herself before rushing back to the office.

In a mansion several kilometres away from Beautys', Max laid on his back staring at the ceiling for some hours now.
Chris who has been there for a while couldn't keep quiet anymore as he forced Max off the bed and took him to the garden.
"Max, could you stop now...this silence is killing me" Chris said as he walked with Max around the garden.
"Is Monica alright?" Max said in a fazed voice.
"Yes she's fine... although her mom found out, she wasn't in any trouble" Chris replied. Okay enough now...can you stop asking about Monica...or have you fallen in love at first sight" Chris asked grinning from ear to ear obviously looking for some jist.
"Why can't I stop thinking about her..." Max subconsciously murmured.
"What..." Chris asked not getting what Max was saying.
"Never mind...just leave me alone for a bit" Max said as he hurried off leaving the confused Chris behind.
"What is wrong with him today ..." Chris said after Max disappeared from his sight.
During the night, Monica couldn't fall asleep as she kept turning on her bed. She couldn't get that young and handsome face out of her head.
From the time he introduced himself to their lunch at the cafeteria (even when it was ruined) she kept on thinking of him.
"Arhhhh... why can't I fall asleep"
On the other side, Max was leaning against the balcony staring at the stars. He kept on thinking of what happened with Monica. He has never felt this way before so why can't he get her out of his head. At the end he took a cold bath before falling asleep.
