The faker you are, the bigger your circle will be. The realer you are, the smaller the smaller your circle will be. These are well known facts--- Rayan Raynodls
Fury was an understatement compared to how Obi felt. His eyes looked blood shoot and cloaked in deadly and disastrous demeanour. He still couldn't understand why Ifeoma had asked him her husband to leave the room so she could talk to another man. "What nerves" he voiced out as he continued to hit on his car horn.
He was currently driving to no direction nor destination. He was just driving and inwardly foaming in anger. He didn't want to believe he was jealous. No, it couldn't be jealous, he repeatedly tried to convince himself.
"Move this jalopy away from the road. You fucker" he shouted at a man who tried to manuover his way in front of his vehicle. " Stupid people everywhere" he spat out and pressed on a button so his car window went up again. "Fuck" he had lost count on how many times he has used a curse word today. So unlike him the present him. He had successfully buried this part of him for years.
He couldn't understand how Ifeoma succeeded in bringing out the beast in him. His worse. His demon. He had possessed them all and taken command but now, currently, he wasn't sure they were still in shackles; in his captivity. Maybe his worse night mare has again surfaced; his darkness.
It have being few hours since Greg had left leaving her in a nameless state. "Are you in love with him" he had asked her. Of course, she was in love with Obi. Her unrequited feelings for him was no longer news. But, what worried her was the undercurrent in Greg's voice. He sounded betrayed and wounded.
She didn't blame him. He had being in love with her and she had loved him at that time. She might not have being in love with him but, she surely had loved him. Aren't they the same one might ask. But, she knew and understood; loving and being in love were two different things. The later was more powerful and intense. People love everyday but in only rare occasions do they truly fall in love. Obi was the only person she was truly in love with...
"We are leaving today" Obi barged in on her thoughts unannounced. She almost jumped out of her skin.
"Why" She said rather than asked.
"What do you mean why?" Obi said in controlled anger. "Do you intend to make the hospital your new home?" Obi asked in a rising voice.
"It just that it's too soon... And..."
"And you can't seem to leave your new heart throb behind" Obi snapped.
"What is the hell is wrong with you?" Ifeoma snapped back.
This was the second time Ifeoma was raising her voice at him. And, they're all thanks to Greg. Obi was beginning to see Greg as an enemy. He seemed to be his wife's anger button. And, it was no longer funny.
"Are my wrong" Obi said rather than asked. "He seems to the the magic word to your anger and password to get you riled up... You are in this fucking hospital bed because I beat his ass..." Obi could no longer contain his anger.
Ifeoma was taken aback. She was seeing a side of Obi she never in her wildest dreams fathom he had. Her Obi was always so composed yet scary. A man of few words. He never had to act rashly; he was just scary. He was Obi after all. The cold millionaire. This present Obi was nothing like her Obi she had known and loved for a few years now. Had he being pretending all this while? She couldn't help but think.
"Let's go. Silas would come for your things later. Not like they are much." Silas had gotten a few things for her earlier on Obi's order.
"I need a moment. Don't think am fit to go..."
"What do you mean by you don't think you're fit to go? Do you perhaps think I'm acting on my own discretion? It might interest you to know that, I already asked the doctor and he has certified you fit to go" that was true.
He was really trying not to go berserk because it seemed that was what Ifeoma was trying to get him to do. "Be a good wife and let me take you home" he said already approaching her bed.
"Like I said: I need a moment. I need to think and I can't if you're so near to me" she facepalmed.
"Are you perhaps disobeying me in this instance?"
"You can think what you like but I'm not leaving this hospital room for now...." She was yet to finish her statement when she had something crashing down.
Ifeoma was petrified and almost frightened. Obi was really beginning to act weird. Yea, this wasn't the first time she had witnessed his destroying sphere. Of course, he had always destroyed and hurt himself when he was furious just like, he did on the day they had sex together. And other few occasions. Rather than those few occasions, he rarely gave off such vibes. So, Ifeoma was confused on why he was doing all he's being doing so far.
The sound of the door harshly jamming reverberated in the room that it gave her goosebumps.
She breathed in and out as she tried to get her thoughts together especially now Obi had left her alone in the warm room but cold ambiance.
Minutes later, some commotion outside snapped her out of lala land that she induced herself to go get some solace. The past few hours had really drained her emotionally.
"What do you mean by I can't see her?" Greg fired in an exaggerated outburst. He still looked as pale as few minutes before but currently clad in a blue t-shirt and brown plain trousers.
"Do you have a death wish?" Obi foamed in anger. Conspicuous Exasperation written all over his face. "I will gladly grant your wish. If you as much as step a foot inside my wife's room" Obi meant it. It wasn't a threat.
"You might be her husband now but, who knows what might happen in future" there was an undercurrent to his words and challenge glare on his face. He knew exactly what he was doing.
Not even the nurses that had being trying to make the both men understand that they were in the hospital and some qualms wasn't allowed were able to stop them from bickering and disturbing patients; VIP patients as this was the VIP section of the hospital. Their pleas went to deaf ears as both men exchanged thunderstorm arguments.
Obi felt his blood boil, his eyes red as he charged towards Greg to add another bruise to his already bruised face when he heard a panicked voice say: "stop" almost hyperventilating.
