The Fun They Had By Isaac Asimov

So, they were the protagonists all along

Mu Zhian traveled to the world of immortals and became a supporting role destined to be used as a stepping stone by the protagonist. He wanted to make friends with the protagonists who were the chosen ones, but when Mu Zhian looked back, he found that the girls around him were either the protagonist's childhood sweethearts or the protagonist's fiancée. The most incredible thing is that those girls who should have liked the protagonist all liked Mu Zhian, the supporting role. Looking at the beautiful girls around him, Mu Zhian had a bold idea and decided to kill the protagonist and turn over to be the master. After finally leveling several protagonists and getting a lot of resources, he shared many resources with the girls around him in order to improve the strength of the girls. I thought that I would be able to prove my Dao and become an emperor in the future with many resources, and ascend to the immortal world. Until one day, looking at the rolling clouds in the sky and the several empresses who were reborn in the thunderstorm, Mu Zhian's eyes gradually lost their spirit and murmured: "I am so stupid, really... I thought that after killing those chosen ones, I would be the protagonist of the new world and a future immortal-level strongman, but I didn't expect... they were the protagonists." Excerpt |||| "My princess..." called a maid, knocking on the door her hand trembling. "Come in." replied Angelica as the door opened hearing footsteps approaching. "What are you doing here? I gave stern orders for no one to disturb me for the entirety of the day." her austere voice rang out. "I... I know my princess... please forgive me... I... I did not mean to disturb you but... this is something very important." "Let's have it then." replied Angelica closing the book she had been reading as she laid eyes on the maid. The maid gulped, the fear evident in her eyes, she did not know how Angelica would react to the severely bad news she had brought with her, however, one thing was sure, Angelica would not react lightly at all. "My... m...y prince...ss the..." said the maid, causing Angelica to sigh in annoyance, rolling her eyes, she had better things to do than sit here listening to the maid's mumbling. "Yes, say it." said Angelica giving the maid a hand. "My princess, the crowned prince has returned." said the maid. "Oh... well that's nice... I guess I will see him later, or better yet tomorrow. There is no rush, I am sure he is swarmed by crowds at the moment." replied Angelica lazily, she really had no intention of moving from this spot. "But my princess... ther— " "Oh, you're right, it would be unacceptable if I did not come out to greet him, rumours would certainly ensue and the kingdom would be in serious hysteria as they always are." replied Angelica annoyed. "Yes, you are right, I should go and welcome him back home." said Angelica as she stood up and yawned. "My princess... that is not all, there is something else..." said the maid. "And what is that?" asked Angelica as the maid's eyes darted around the room, she did not know what to do, or how best to put this. "My princess... the... the crowned prince has truly returned but..." said the maid with a prolonged pause. "But what?" asked Angelica, her senses tingling, she had a inking that there was something wrong from the maid's strange behaviour. "But his highness..." paused the maid. "Out with it now!" said Angelica sternly. "His highness has returned with a strange woman and the rumours claim that she is his new wife!" spat out the maid as Angelica suddenly felt lightheaded and she fell back down on the chair. "My princess!" cried the maid as she rushed to her. "This is some sort of farce." said Angelica as the maid proceeded quickly to fan her with a cloth. "No my princess... it is true." replied the maid. "This is impossible. Ian must be mad, I am going to see this display of stupidity for myself!" said Angelica hotly, quickly rising up and storming out of the room as the poor maid followed behind her. ||||

Rejected by the Alpha, Marked by the Tyrant King

Rejected. Shattered. Desired by two. Torn between fate and freedom. I was supposed to be his. From the moment I was born, the bond between us had been written in the stars. Alpha Prince Cedric—my fated mate, my destiny, the one who was meant to cherish and protect me. But under the glow of the full moon, surrounded by the expectant eyes of the entire kingdom, he looked at me with nothing but disgust. "I, Cedric Nightbane, reject you as my mate." The words felt like a blade to my soul, severing something deep inside me. My body trembled, my Omega instincts screamed for me to submit, to plead for his love. But I wouldn’t. I wouldn’t beg for someone who never wanted me. So I ran. I ran from the whispers, the shame, the pain tearing me apart from the inside. I ran until my legs gave out, until I had nothing left—only to stumble into the hands of Dante Nightbane, the Tyrant King of the Shadowfang Empire. Where Cedric’s touch had been cold, Dante’s was searing. Where Cedric’s rejection had left me empty, Dante’s possessive gaze made something deep inside me burn. And when he inhaled my scent, something dark and unbreakable snapped into place. “Your mate was a fool to let you go, little Omega. But I am not.” Now, I am trapped in the arms of a monster—a ruthless, merciless Alpha who refuses to let me escape. He is nothing like the mate I once longed for. He is sharper, crueller… and yet, when I am near him, my body betrays me, drawn to the fire that burns in his touch. But there are secrets hidden in my blood, whispers of a lost royal lineage and a power that could change the world. Power that two Alphas are willing to go to war over. The mate who threw me away now fights to take me back. The tyrant who claimed me would destroy the world to keep me. But I am done being a prize for men to fight over. If fate dares to decide my path, then I will carve my own. And when I do—not even the strongest Alpha alive will be able to contain me.
