Chapter 11 - Chapter Ten

Know yourself- Pythagoras.

Know yourself- change when it's necessary and needful- random pick.

Sometimes the best way to make a person realise the intensity of their actions is by mirroring their actions against them- coined.

....by holding up a mirror to their actions, you teach them a lesson- laws of power.

Obi pretended like he didn't hear or understand what she meant by 'more'.

He didn't understand himself of late. For the past days Ifeoma had occupied his thought. Normally, the futality of his trip to Ghana would've wear him down but he found himself thinking about Ifeoma throughout the whole journey. It was a new feeling he didn't understand, Lucy was everything to him and should be the only one he thought about.

Obi didn't understand why he's being comparing Lucy lately with Ifeoma. It had being heavier when she left her eight hundred naria change to that groundnuts seller, that was something Lucy wouldn't have done at least not without drama. Lucy could be a drama queen but he loved her beyond her flaws, beyond everything. She reminded him so much of his late sister whom coincidentally also bore the name Lucy. Lucy his sister was the apple of his eyes so was Lucy is wife.

Instead of replying to ifeoma's statement on wanting more he had shocked even himself when he suddenly said: "you're never meeting him again" Obi said with finality in his voice while he parked his car in his personal garage as they've already reached home.

"Who?" Ifeoma asked opening her side of the door.

"Who else if not the superbious guy at the mall" Obi said also opening his side of the car.

"First Greg isn't superbious and you most certainly can't tell me who to see or who not to see_ it's my call to make not yours" Ifeoma said with anger. Anger over his oblivion about the reality of their marriage, about his silence when she had said she wanted more, about is lackadaisical attitude towards the question of a companionship with her, other than the charade they had, which she didn't even know where it was leading to.

"Are you flaunting my instructions?" Obi said, puzzled.

"You heard me" Ifeoma replied. She was about going to her room when she heard the sound of something falling and smashing to pieces.

Her heart almost jumped out of her skin. As she felt an imaginary glass flying over her eyes. That was when it happened. What she did next surprised even herself. As Obi was on the breaking sphere impulsly allowing her adrenaline to overcome her. She took a flower vase standing right before the television set- with all her strength she lifted it up and it soon came flying on the television screen. Soon the sound of breaking glass is heard.

For a moment everywhere became quiet. It was as if the angel of decorum just passed; like when people are in a noisy environment with everyone talking, chatting and shouting and all of a sudden as if commanded by an invisible force everyone would become quiet and then someone would say: Muo Nso agafe, the Holy Spirit just passed.

Obi was puzzled, Ifeoma was awe struck. What just happened the both seemed to be asking themselves as they stared at the broken television. Aunty Nina seemed to have heard the sound of breaking object knowing the only person who could do such; she rushed to savage the situation but was shocked at what she saw.

Ifeoma just threw a flower vase at the television. Who would have thought. Aunty Nina didn't know how to feel. This was all new to her so she didn't know what to say or the action to take. Like the two staring at themselves in an unreadable expression she too was lost of words.

As if Ifeoma sensed her helplessness she decided to feed the silence with a thunder blot speech.

"I'm tired of you breaking stuffs at any slightest provocation." She breaths in, it was as if she was holding herself from crying. "Mark my words Mr Obi; from today henceforth whenever you break anything because of some anger I do not even understand; I would help in the destruction. If you break two , I'll double it. Enough of your madness. You're are not the first to experience pain and you won't be the last" she walked closer to Obi so majestically like a prey offering itself willingly to the predator. Looking the stupefied man in the eye: "It is not a threat" she said as she walks away into her room.

On impulse both Obi and aunty Nina look at themselves then to the direction of the retreating figure. "Please you...." Aunty Nina was cut short. "What just happened?" Aunty Nina didn't know if she was meant to answer that because even she needs an answer to that. How can a sheep suddenly turn to a full fledged badass wolf. As odd as it might be, aunty Nina was proud of Ifeoma.

It was a case of coming of age. She was glad Ifeoma suddenly realised that Obi needed a push. Indeed the violent taketh it by force she smiled to herself.

Obi who was still confused or to be more correct shocked; closed his mouth that hadn't didn't realise until now was open. Recovering a little from the shock he soon walk away and into the place he knew he would find her.

Ifeoma could not understand the direction of Obi's anger. For Christ sake she was in the right position to feel anything close to anger. He was the one that left for days now without a word of explanation or even a call. All those days she cried herself to sleep most nights. She hadn't anyone to talk to or someone to console her. Yet her heart had refused to stop with the silliness- dumbly chasing clout- it pained her so much that Obi has refused to show her the littlest of affection.

She didn't know what spirit possessed her when she threw that vase directly to the television but one thing was sure; she didn't regret her actions. Greg was her ex, he had loved her and they lost contact. She might be married now but no one knows the future. Obi might never return her love and now he has the temerity to tell her not to see him again.

Tried and exhausted she pulled her clothes off as she stares herself in the mirror unable to hold back her tears anymore. She allowed her hormones take control as tears streamed down her eyes. For the first time she pitied herself.

Furious Obi walked into her room but his anger was soon replaced with a new wave of emotion when he saw the sight before him. There was a tickle somewhere in his groin. A new type of feeling.
