Chapter two-A teacher
Rose's hands were calloused from years of toiling in the fields, but her eyes still shined with hope and determination. She gazed up at the wandering knight who had just entered the village square, and she mustered up her courage. "Good sir knight, I have a request to make of you," she said, her voice trembling slightly. The knight looked down at the young peasant girl with curiosity. "A request, you say? Speak, child, and I shall listen." Rose took a deep breath, and began to speak. "I wish to become a knight, just like you.
"I know it is a difficult and dangerous path, but I am not afraid. I am willing to face any challenge, and to undergo any training, if it means that I can one day wear a shining suit of armor and wield a sword with honor and skill. I know that women are not traditionally allowed to become knights, but I am determined to break through the barriers of tradition and make my own way in the world." The knight was silent for a moment, as if considering the girl's words. Finally, he spoke. "I must say, child, that your request is most unusual, and not one that I can grant lightly. But I admire your spirit, and your willingness to pursue your dream in the face of great obstacles. Tell me, what makes you so certain that you have what it takes to become a knight?" Rose looked up at the knight, her eyes filled with resolve. "I know that it will not be easy, but I have been training every day with a wooden sword, and I am quick and strong. I have studied the history of the great knights of old, and I am determined to follow in their footsteps.
"Most importantly, I know that I have the heart of a knight. I am brave, loyal, and true, and I would never betray my honor or my word. I am prepared to give everything for the cause of justice and chivalry. I only ask for the chance to prove myself." The knight listened to her words, and he could not deny the passion and conviction in her voice. At last, he spoke. "You have shown great courage and determination, child, and it would be dishonorable to deny your request.
"I will grant you the chance to prove yourself worthy of the title of knight. I will train you, and test you, and if you pass the trials that I set before you, then you will be recognized as a true knight. But know this - the path that you have chosen is not an easy one, and it will require great sacrifice and dedication. Are you ready to accept the challenge?" Rose nodded, her eyes shining with determination. "I am ready, good sir knight. I will give everything I have, and I will not falter or surrender. I am ready to begin."
