"For-forced teleport?"
Kim Jaesuk looked aghast, before the couple continued.
"Yes. Since you guys got transported in a group, it's probably the tier-7 spell Forced Mass Teleport, which requires a lot of mana to cast. You need at least 80 magic power to be able to cast it"
"..."
"Now the question is, there's only few people on the continent that have over 80 magic power, and most of them are the Court Magician that serves the emperor directly. How did you guys got caught in such sp-"
"Wait a moment!"
Kim Jaesuk suddenly interrupted.
"Wha-what do you mean spell? Magician? what are you guys talking about?"
Now it's the couple's turn to be surprised.
"???"
"You guys are kidding right? Magic doesn't exist at all!"
The couple looked at each other before the grandpa raised a finger, and suddenly a fire appeared on top of his finger.
"!!!"
"You guys have never exposed to magic before?"
The old lady asked a question,
"I- I mean..."
"Actually,"
Just before Kim Jaesuk answered, I basically shouted before continuing.
"We don't remember anything"
"..."
"When we woke up in the forest, we didn't remember anything except for our names. We were too busy running for our life to think about it, so we currently have no idea what happened to us at all. That's why seeing magic is very surprising"
I quickly make up some excuses, as I don't think its a good idea to expose that we're from another world.
"So, we don't really know anything..."
The couple then looked at me before nodded.
"I see... that's too bad. I'll talk to the villagers about this, so you guys can finish your breakfast and stay here to rest for some time"
"Tha- thank you"
"I'll leave some food here for your friend as well when he wake up"
The old couple then got up before telling us to rest and went out.
Me and Kim Jaesuk then looked at each other before sighing.
"Looks like we're not on earth..."
"Yeah... let's wake Adrian up"
Kim Jaesuk got up and went back upstair while I followed behind him.
Opening the door, we saw Adrian is sitting on the bed looking at us with a bewildered gaze.
"What happened?"
"Sigh... it's a long story"
Kim Jaesuk then proceed to explain what the old couple told us to Adrian.
"Ma-magic? We were teleported?"
"From their way of talking, it doesn't seem like we're on earth since magic does exist here. The grandpa even light a flame out of his finger"
Adrian's face is a sight to behold. I then wondered if our faces were like this too earlier.
"Wha- what should we do now then?"
"They went out to talk with the other people living here... As for what's next, I've no idea"
"..."
We then just sit on silence.
"I'm going back to rest..."
I got up then said to the other.
"Ohh okay... me too then"
Resting on the bed, I began organising my thought.
'We need information. Since magic exist here, we couldn't possibly be on earth.'
'Since I said that we're missing our memories, we need to be careful not to expose our lie,'
Is what I said but, we can only decide what to do after the old couple finish their discussion and come back here.
I then closed my eyes to sleep.

(knock knock)
I opened my eyes and realised that it's noon, which mean I didn't sleep much.
"Alex... are you awake?"
I heard the sound of knocking and Kim Jaesuk's voice coming from the door.
"Yeah give me a second"
I got up and opened the door.
"They're back, let's go down"
I nodded and followed Kim Jaesuk downstair.
At the dining table, the grandpa is sitting there with Adrian while the grandma is nowhere to be seen.
"You're here, take a seat"
We all then sat together in the dining table, before the grandpa continued.
"We decided that it would be better for you guys to stay here until you guys got your memories back"
Hearing that, A sigh of relief came out of my mouth.
"Of course not for free. You'll be helping out other people and in exchange we'll provide you with place to sleep and food to eat. We'll also answer some of the question that you might have"
"Of- of course. Thank you so much..."
"Now then, any question for now?"
I raised my hand.
"Erm... do you have books?"
"Books?"
"Yes... books about history or some basic knowledge that we need to know..."
"Ah true you did mention that you guys only remembered your name. I have some in my room, give me a moment and I'll be back"
The grandpa then stood up and began walking to his room.
Just a few seconds after, he came out with a couple of books.
Handing them to me, he said
"These two contains some common knowledge and history of the continent. Ah, just for your information, we're in a small village called Retirement Village near the Empire on the Eastern Continent"
"Okay..."
"Right, you guys can read that book for today and rest. We'll have you help us out starting from tomorrow"
"Thank you"
Saying that, the grandpa got up and walked outside.
The three of us went back to Adrian's room to read the book together.
The books' called 'History of Paradia' and 'Beginner's guide to Magic'.
After reading the book, we found out about the following facts:
The planet we're in right now is called Paradia. There are five continents, which is the Eastern Continent, Southern Continent, Western Continent, Northern Continent, and the Central Continent. Each continent is ruled by an empire with the emperor reigning over it.
Whats interesting is that other races exist here!
The book mentioned Elves, Dwarves, Demi-humans, and even Dragons does exist.
We're currently in the Eastern Continent as the grandpa said. There are three major cities in the continent, and each are watched over by the nobles with the Duke rank from the empire. The city's names are based on the nobility watching over it, which is the Gracein city, Medear city, and Tullarine city. I then reminded myself to watch out for the people with Gracein, Medear, and Tullarine surname.
These are the Nobility ranks starting from top to bottom, Emperor > Duke > Marquess > Earl > Viscount > Baron.
After learning some of the common knowledge, we read through the other book.
It's basically a book about explaining magic and how to use it, at least in theory.
Apparently, magic user are very rare and they're called wizard. There are nine tiers for wizard, with number one being the lowest rank and number nine being the highest rank.
According to the book, talent and aptitude are necessary for one to be able to use magic properly. If you're born with talent, you'll be able to advance further and build your career as a mage, otherwise no matter how hard you try it's impossible to use magic if you don't have the aptitude for it.
There are five common elements for magic: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Metal. Common people are usually born with aptitude for an element, while some noble with powerful bloodline are born able to use multiple elements as well as their bloodline elements.
As we're unable to understand the majority of the book's context, we decided to stop reading it for now and decide to discuss our next step.
Kim Jaesuk asked us
"So, what do you guys think?"
"..."
"I mean, what else can we do? We're stuck here now not knowing whether we'll be able to go back or not..."
Since Adrian seemed lost in thought, I answered before continuing.
"Anyway, we still have some time do decide. I'll live here for a while and see how it goes later"
"Yeah, I'll do that too"
After Kim Jaesuk said his decision, we looked at Adrian.
"I- I'll do the same..."
"Alright that's it. Let's rest for today and wake up early to help out the village"
Saying that, I got up and left the room while Kim Jaesuk followed behind me.
Leaning on my bed, I started planning my day tomorrow.
'First, I'll get up early and exercise. According to the book, seems like strength is important aspect in this world, hence I need to maintain my fit and stamina. Then I'll gather more information while asking around the village. I remembered the old couple saying stuff about 80 magic power, I need to find out more about that too'
'And then..."
And just like that, I fell asleep while sorting out my thought.
