Rick Pov
After coming home that day, I really started to think about my position.
I may be in a fantasy world where I can do amazing feats of magic but also numerous dangers. I need to get on top of this shit. Just because I can do simple magic and make spell models in an instant doesn't mean I am invincible. It just means that I am very versatile.
And I repeat, versatile, not powerful. Any proper magician can take me down. Don't get me started on the Knights. They can simply ignore me.
Well, I could theoretically blind them after sending a very concentrated light beam to their eyes. Except that, I don't know.
Sure, I would win against the beginners in both professions, but if they are just a little competent, they can take me down.
I have been here for long enough now. I now know how this power system works now. It somewhat goes like this:
First classification: Physical.
They are the Knights of every fantasy novel. They are the superhumans. Also, the ones who get fu*ked up by the magicians as they get sniped easy. Even when the mc is a knight, he finds a way to tap into magic eventually. But that is not really the case here.
Knights simply enforce their bodies with mana. Actually, everyone can do this. All it needs is training and more training. You see, the way to enhance the body is simply circulating mana in someone's body and let it slowly be enhanced. It may seem like cultivation or Xian Xia but that is not really the case here. Meditation for too long won't really work here. There is no proverbial magical 'core' here.
And this is precisely what I was doing while in the womb. I was slowly strengthening my body and making it more developed. Also the mana circulation helped greatly in making my body more malleable to mana.
This thing is really weird. Some novels have them as physical manifestations that can be removed and some have them as metaphysical objects. Also, there is that thing about mana veins and whatnot. I mean, sure, it makes it easier to visualize and feel connected and it makes for some easy-to-understand power systems. But that is sadly not the case here.
Mana is like heat here. Or maybe thermal energy if you want to be technical. Like heat, it is present everywhere but somewhere it is more and somewhere it is less. Unbalanced heat can create many effects or in other terms, while moving heat turns into other forms of energy. And similarly, other forms of energy can turn into heat.
In simple terms, mana can turn into anything else and vice versa.
But a key difference is that mana can do weird things to biological and material things when it is too much.
For instance, heat transforms solid to liquid and liquid to gas and gas to plasma. It changes their physical nature.
In the case of mana, think like that but dial it up to eleven.
Mana can turn anything to anything else in proper conditions. At least that is what I believe to be the case here.
Colliding neutrons and making an atomic bomb level explosion may have been extremely difficult back in my previous universe, but here?
Ayna alone can easily do that with a proper spell model and enough mana. Using just telekinesis.
Probably not, considering the amount of precision needed for the task. also, it is really not that easy. Just a metaphor.
In any case the capability of mana is endless. And the way it transforms is also highly interesting and easy to do as well.
Which brings us back to the topics of Knights. The way they improve in strength is when their body is capable of storing and using their mana as much as possible.
Remember when I said that life itself has evolved to utilize mana in every aspect of it's working. Which includes organs, muscles, skin, eyes, brain, bones, soul and everything in between.
Knights' body simply need to be able to handle more of it. Which has many ways of happening. Exercising, herbs, infusion, special diet and many many more.
Back to my previous comment that Knights can ignore me. After being infused by so much mana their body becomes much resistant and durable to the point where they can take on many strong spells without worry. It's like superman being bombarded by bombs. Nothing is going to happen to the guy. Similarly, no matter how many firebomb-spells I blast on them, nothing will happen to the Knight.
And now, as for the magicians, they have similar methods. But there is a matter I need to clarify. The mana is not like fuel for the knights, rather it is part of their body. So, if they expel it but do not reabsorb it, they will become weak.
The same is not true for magicians. They use mana in a very different. They take mana in their body, but they do not assimilate it and make it a part of their body like Knights. Instead, they are like converters. They convert the mana inside and expel it in the form of magic. There is no need for a strong body, they simply need to make their mana conductivity better. The more mana they can conduct the stronger their spells are.
It needs practice and commitment. Remember that part about mana veins, yeah but think of that as the entire body. Or maybe think of the body as wire, the mana as electricity. The less the resistance the better the flow.
Don't forget about the spell model. You need to expel the mana and make it go through a specific path to turn it into a spell. The process is usually automated. You just have to imagine the path/ spell model. The shapes are called runes and rune clusters in a specific structure make specific magical effects.
So, the power systems for magicians or wizards are different than Knights. So, almost no one trains to become both. But everyone trains the basics though. Magicians need to be able to run in the battlefields. Warriors need water magic to wipe their ass. You get it.
It's like professions. Theoretically, everyone can become a lawyer, doctor, mechanic, philosopher at the same time. Why don't they? I mean nothing is stopping them, right? The situation is similar here.
So, in order to learn both up to a high level, you need to be a man of Focus, Commitment and sheer Fu*king will.
Which sadly, I will have to. I have it somewhat easier though. Magicians sadly have to spend most of their time memorizing and learning about their spells and magical theories. I don't have to worry about that. I can learn everything as fast as I can input them in my brain.
I can also multitask in a scary method. [Alice] can pump out infinite spells as long as my body can handle it. So, the practice part is covered. The only part I can see where I'll need to work hard is my body.
I'll have to exercise.
A lot.
So, that sucks but it's not too bad. I guess. Unless there are other stuff.
Sigh, I really don't want to work that hard on it. I'll have to research potions and other methods to make my body strong. Such a hassle.
Anyway, time to go to that library.
.......................................
Inside the Nyster residence.
"Dad, Rick wants to go inside the library. He wants to read those story books with pictures."
"We had this conversation before. He is not going to read anything and just mess up the books."
Replied Richard Nyster. He looked quite bewildered.
"He won't. he promised not to do so."
"Also, can he read? He is just about three years old."
"He can. Would you like to see?"
"Sure, bring him in."
Rick came in. He looked shy and nervous.
"Hello sir. How are you?"
"I am quite fine Rick. How are you?"
"I am fine, sir. Can I please see your library and read the beautiful books with pictures? Please?"
Rick decided to use the greatest ability in his arsenal at the moment. His cuteness.
Richard Nyster who had to single handedly raise the cutest girl in the area seemed unimpressed. He still had the rough and strict look on his face.
"Can you read aloud to me this book?"
Richard then gave a small children's book to the boy.
Rick nervously took the book and said,
"Yes s-sir I can.
'Once u-upon a tine, Theere umm, was a p….prince in a k..kimgdon were…"
Richard said after listening, "Okay, you can go inside. But don't damage the books. That's the reason I didn't give you access before. And the same applies to you too Ayna. Stop leaving them all spread around the room."
"Ok dad/sir."
"Alright, off with you two. I have work to do. This is the keys to the room. Don't lose it."
"Ok/Ok"
Rick and Ayna then went to the library immediately. Rick had a childish smile in his face.

Ricks's pov.
Hihihihihihihihihihihihihihihihhihhihi
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. FINALLY.
I'll have access to this library. The only proper library. The others are really public. I would expose myself there. I mean, a three-year-old baby sternly reading a book about advanced theory on magic might not be a normal thing to see.
So, I was ecstatic when I heard that Ayna's father had the biggest library in town. I could finally have some much-needed privacy now. Just me and my books. Perfect.
Add a headphone and some music and I could just stay like this forever. Actually, I can do that, can't I?
[Alice], play some of my favorite music.
And the great phonk songs started to play in my head. Time to read about ways to slay dragons.
So, after finally getting access to this library, I started to read about the thing I needed the most. My first book, {Every Known Rune in Duniya Continent}.
Yeah, I need that right now.

Inside the Study Room of the Nyster house. The house master is seen with a bottle in hand. With a deep frown in his face.
"So, you are teaching a three-year-old how to do advanced magic, Ayna.
Is he the one?
Sigh, I don't know what goes on inside the mind of my daughter anymore. Also, why can a three-year-old do so much magic if he wasn't the one?
If he is the one, we will have to support him to the fullest. Why this branch of the family and why her?
The prophesied time is coming, huh. I only hope it wouldn't be so bad and my family can survive. I need something to drink.
Sigh."
