Diana p.o.v
I stared at the front of the hall where the lecturer was, smiling and answering questions from the students. I flinched a bit when I felt someone touches my hand. I looked down to the worried looking Noah.
"Are you okay ? You scared me with the slam there." He joked at the end, although he sounded truly worried. I sat down, waving my hand at him.
"It's nothing. I just felt the need to do it to.. unnerve myself. It's my second class, I'm still nervous." I told him, which if I was him, I would think I'm not making sense at all.
"Make sense." He said, and I just laughed nervously.
"Or.. maybe you are so surprised seeing the literal son of Royal's advisor standing at the front ? Everybody else has the same reaction."
I looked down at Ian again where some women began to circle around him, asking about life.
Ian Bennette, the son of Royal Advisor, Jacob Bennette. Excel in everything and anything, like father like son. There was a time I would feel guilty that Ian was stuck with me, because he could be anything he wanted and I am stopping him from it. Other than that, I need him by my side.
"Alright, get back to your seat ladies and gentlemen. I need to proceed the class or I'll risk losing my job too soon." He winked, and I almost barfed witnessing that.
I listened to the lesson, and his teaches was very different than the first time he taught me. Like, the very first time I learnt political science when I was ten.
Sure enough, it did not mention the humans at all. The Sinclair family was mentioned instead and he spoke quite highly of them, saying how powerful the family was even in politics.
"Students like political science because there might be a chance their family would be mentioned, and people began to recognize them more." Noah suddenly said, and I turned to look at him.
"As we entering this topic, it's very important for you to know about the Royal family."
I looked down from him, and looked away.
Royal family. Everyone respect them. They had the most power in the Kingdom and had reign over the country for centuries. So far, their reigning were just but nobody dare to cross the line thanks to the Predator sense blessed to the Royal Family.
Black hair and red pair of eyes, that was the characteristics of a Royal family. Nobody in this Kingdom or anyone else has black hair and red eyes together other than the Royal Family.
Their red eyes are called the Eyes of the Predator. They were what hold the power of the King, heightened the presence on a crazy scale, it can disrupt the space and even kill an individual without touching them. So, nobody dare to anger the Royal family in fear of dying.
All in all, it was a boring class. Thankfully, there were no more classes after that and I excused myself from Noah to return back to my dorm. Of course, we exchanged numbers and promised to meet again.
It was sad to part so soon, but questioning Ian was my most important thing as of now.
I slammed my dorm room opened, knowing I won't be the first person to arrive there.
There he was, standing there by the study desk, arranging books as if he was not just in the class about ten minutes ago.
"Ian.." I said his name. He did not seem to scare at all, turning his body to face me nonchalantly.
I closed the door behind me, entering the room as I threw the bag aside.
"Tell me why you became my teacher ?" I asked him.
"For fun. Of course I have to, to look after you ! You really think I would just let you go off alone with random people in the school ? Who was that guy sitting next to you ?" I scoffed. I thought he did not notice my presence in the class. He never looked my way once.
"You don't know him ? That's Noah Sinclair." I told him.
"A Sinclair ? Huh, you made a good friend."
"Friend ? He's my mate."
I saw him flinched the moment I mentioned my mate, and he turned to look at me wide-eyed, making my smile even though I was trying to stay angry.
"Your mate is a Sinclair ?!" He shouted, and I shrugged as I took a seat on my bed.
"I couldn't believe either. Not even the first class and I already stumbled upon my mate. If I had enroll into the school sooner, I wouldn't have wasted my time in that hellhole."
"Don't say that. It's still your home." I rolled my eyes, and a ding from my phone heard. I looked at it and saw Noah's name.
The message read as follows;
"Do you want to go out tonight ? I'll introduce you to my friends. We're going to have a drink."
A smile spread across my face as I shoved the phone to Ian's face.
"Noah invited me out. He said we're going out drinking. I can't wait !" I stood up, walking to the wardrobe where Ian probably already placed. I looked over my collection of outfits.
"No, you're not going out with him to the pub. I heard Noah Sinclair is friends with quite problematic group of teenagers." I ignored his words, putting a dress onto me to see if it was a good choice.
"You never drink before, Diana. Problems will always arises if night accompany by alcohol. I don't trust the Sinclair as well."
"Why are you not trusting him ? He's my mate ! Plus, he's a Sinclair. He will be there for me and everything will be alright. I'll be home before midnight, I promise." I threw the outfit of my choice onto the bed. He was putting his hands on the waist, and he looked displeased by the answer.
"Diana." He said, emphasizing the name more, making me stop what I was doing.
"Noah Sinclair is the third other guy you have known in your life other than me and your father. You don't know what you're getting yourself into, the people, the fun, things can go bad."
I did not know what gotten into him to even mention that man. What so bad about going out and have fun ?
"The two guys in my life, it's you and him. One is always there for me and the other, not at all. There is no in between, I think I've learned enough, if that's what you worried about." I smiled at him before I took my towel and went to take a shower.
I understand why Ian was protective of me. This would be the first time I ever stepped out of that hellish place. I can count with my fingers how many people I have encountered in my life. The one that constantly by my side was only my nanny and Ian.
When I first walked out of that place, I was astonished by everything. The skyscrapers, the buildings surrounded me, the dirty side roads like in the movies, blinking street lamps, and dark alleyway that I should stay away, everything was surreal to me. I never knew there was a whole new world at the other side of the wall.
At that time, I felt like I want to discover everything. Like right now, I want to feel how it is to be in the pub, drinking and enjoying time with friends. Noah Sinclair will be there with me, and I'm not feeling that nervous.
"I'm outside." I received the message from Noah. I quickly sent a message to Ian saying I'm going out, before I walked out of the girl's dormitory. At the gate, I saw Noah waiting for me which made me smile at the sight.
The sky was already dark, but everyone was still outside, now in their casual attire. Noah finally noticed me as I arrived and he smiled.
"You look lovely." He said, and I smiled at his compliment.
"You too, looking handsome."
We walked side by side, and even with his presence, my heart thumping like crazy. I saw couples walking by while holding hands, but I was still nervous to do that. Noah seemed normal. He was not as nervous as I am next to him.
Does he has experience with women ? Ian did tell me that he befriends problematic friends. Does he meant fooling around with ladies ?
"Here we are." We arrived at the pub, just outside of the school building. It was not that far, and the place was quite hidden. I did not hear any music outside but once I stepped over the door, the bass vibrated on my skin. There were a crowd in the middle, dancing underneath the various lights shone from the ceiling.
I felt a hand holding mine and pulled me close. The electricity formed by the touches enough telling me it was Noah. I followed him, avoiding people that was in the way.
"Hey, Noah, you made it !" I heard a voice and saw it was coming from a table situated a little further from the dancing floor. The sound quickly muffled behind this wall, and there were people sitting at what looks like private place.
The man that called Noah earlier had a deep red hair and a pair of green eyes. On both of his sides were beautiful ladies, touching his chest and abdomen.
Noah sat down, and I immediately noticed a woman comfortable herself next to Noah. Her fingers immediately when their ways to his chest and I immediately growled at her, and she looked shocked when I did. She quickly back away and I felt relaxed once again.
"Sorry. I won't let them touch me again." I heard Noah whispered to me, and I nodded.
"Oh, is this your mate you told me about ? Quite feisty. I like her already." The man said, and the girl next to him, bearing blonde hair and a pair of blue eyes, scoffing at me with a smile.
"Diana, this man here is Ethan Griffin. My buddies since grade years and the beautiful lady next to him is Natasha Grey. And the other lady..." The other lady just smiled, not giving out her name. Maybe she was not Noah group of friends and was there just for her job.
"And this is Diana Danielle, my mate." He introduced me, wrapping his arm over my shoulders and I smiled at them. They looked to be the same ages as me and Noah.
"Hey, welcome to our friend group, Diana. We have two others, but maybe they are fooling around as we speak, so don't worry about them."
I just smiled at his words, acknowledging him. Noah kept squeezing my shoulder, maybe trying to unnerve me from seeing his friends for the first time.
"Here.. have you drink before ?" Noah brought a shot at me, and I stared at it for a moment. It was the first time seeing this right on my face, a bubbles of excitement surfacing in me.
I hesitantly taking it from him, and he kept watching me, noticing my reluctance. I could feel everyone in the room watching me as if I was an exhibit.
Slowly, I bring the shot to my mouth.
"In one gulp, it will stings a little." I heard him whispers.
I took his advice, and shoved the shot into my mouth. I immediately coughed afterwards, feeling the liquor down my throat.
"Are you okay ?"
I nodded my head when Noah took the shot glass from me. He kept his hand close to me while talking with his friends.
He continued to give me shots, and over time I was starting to feel dizzy. I saw Natasha walked away from Ethan and over to me. She took my hand, and I reluctantly followed her. She brought me to the dance floor and seeing everyone enjoying themselves, made me grooves myself.
I tried to stay close with Natasha but then I lost her in the crowd. I looked around, but then I saw someone slid through the crowd, standing right in front of me.
I did not know who was it, but he was dancing uncomfortably close to me. His hands began to touch my waist, and I could whiff his strong cologne.
I tried to move away, but he kept me close with his hands on my waist. When he noticed my persistence, that was when he became even clear with his intention to keep me by his side.
His blue eyes looked down to me, and I noticed the determination in his eyes.
He wanted to prey on me.
But then, I felt an arm over my shoulders and the hands on me was shoved away from me. I was faced against a chest, and looking up, it was Noah. He looked scary. He was glaring at the person that was pestering me.
They did not exchange any words, but Noah brought me away from him afterwards. I looked at the person, staring at us as we walked away.
We then walked out of the crowd and out of the pub. I was a little dizzy, and my steps missed constantly that I had to use Noah as support.
At that time, as the calmness hit, I began to feel drowsy. My eyes were so heavy and I only heard a few conversation in the background before I fell into slumber.
-
Noah. p.o.v.
I tried my best not to touch her inappropriately, having her arm one over my shoulder and another on her waist, but she kept on sliding downwards and my hand ended up always underneath her arm.
"Diana ? You don't mind if I carry you ?" I tried to get her to answer, but she was out of it. It was her first time drinking, seeing how badly she handles alcohol.
"I'll take it from here."
I heard a voice, and I felt Diana was being pulled from me. I looked over and saw the same man that I noticed been watching Diana from afar, Ian Bennette, our new history teacher, and the Advisor's son.
I frowned before I pulled her away from him.
"What the hell ? You had been watching her and now this ? Don't be a creep." I told him, and I heard grumble on my chest. Diana was troubled by the loud sound.
"Give her to me." He clenched his jaw, taking her hand again. I began to growl at him for touching my mate. He looked displeased. I began to wonder what gave him the right to make that face with me.
"Don't touch her. She's mine." I told him, and he rolled his eyes.
"You're her mate, I get it."
Then, within a single tug, he seamlessly took Diana from me into his arms.
"But right now, in the eyes of the education boards, you are trying to take advantage on her while she's drunk. She's better off with a teacher than a boy who has history with ladies in the campus." My jaw clenched greatly at his final words, veins were outlining on my temple, trying to hold myself from jamming his neck with my hands.
Though I have to admit, he was right. Diana's reputation would go down the hill if people caught her with me bringing her to her dorm. However, I don't have a good feeling letting random man bringing my mate back.
"Ian, you're so noisy." I looked at Diana who had her face scrunched, pushing the teacher's face with her hand.
"I'll bring her back." He said, picking her up bridal style. I clicked my tongue, watching every moves he made with Diana in his arms.
"Anyway.." He stopped and faced me. I continued to glare at him.
"Thanks for saving her."
I was taken aback. He was acting kinda hostile with me earlier, but he thanked me for saving me from the bastard.
I watched as he left with Diana to the dorm. It seemed she was in good hand.
