Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Deadly Dance: Bai Suzhen's Confrontation with Komodo

Di Tian landed on the ground with a slow, graceful descent. His long body extended beyond the circle of flames, but the fire couldn't harm him; his natural scales easily shielded him from the scorching heat.

HISS!!!

Bai Suzhen slithered down from Di Tian's majestic mane. It was only now that the trio of Komodo dragons noticed the 1.5-meter-long white snake that had been perched on the massive behemoth.

However, the Komodo dragons didn't react. After all, Bai Suzhen's transformed appearance was vastly different from her previous form.

Without giving them a chance to recognize her, Bai Suzhen was determined to take care of them swiftly. Her eagerness to dispose of them was palpable.

Suddenly, her speed surged, and within a mere second, she vanished from the trio's sight.

The Komodo dragons assumed defensive stances, but before they could react—

GHGYG!!!

One of the Komodo dragons cried out in pain. The other two turned to see their companion being bitten by Bai Suzhen.

Bai Suzhen's fangs pierced deep into the Komodo dragon's body. As her fangs made contact with the creature's blood, her venom was injected into its system.

Her venom was unique, far deadlier than that of any other creature. Her skill "Fatal Poison" rendered her venom a hundred times more potent than that of the most venomous snakes on the planet, like the Taipan snake.

The bitten Komodo dragon struggled, but Bai Suzhen coiled her body around it, tightening her grip with her skill "Constrict." The creature's struggles only fueled her deadly hold.

Crack! Crack!

In a matter of moments, the sound of the Komodo dragon's bones being crushed echoed. Foam formed at its mouth.

Bai Suzhen released her grip, and the creature collapsed onto the ground, lifeless and breathless.

While Bai Suzhen was engaged in dispatching the first Komodo dragon, the remaining two seized the opportunity to attack. As soon as she released her grip on the first Komodo dragon, the other two lunged at her.

They displayed their rows of sharp teeth, positioned along their jaws, ready to deliver a powerful bite to Bai Suzhen.

A Komodo dragon's hunting method was simple yet effective. They initiated by biting their prey with a force exceeding 600 pounds, capable of overwhelming the defenses of most creatures. Their strategically placed sharp teeth amplified this bite strength.

Typically, after biting their prey, Komodo dragons would let go. Their saliva, rich with bacteria, weakened their victim. Even if their prey managed to escape, the bacteria could aid in tracking and capturing them.

Once the prey was sufficiently debilitated, the Komodo dragons consumed it whole.

The two Komodo dragons attempted to bite Bai Suzhen, relying on their bacteria-laden saliva to weaken her. Unfortunately for them, reality dealt a harsh blow.

Crack!!

When their teeth sunk into Bai Suzhen's form, they discovered that her scales resisted their crushing force. As they exerted more pressure, their teeth emitted a cracking sound.

The unsuccessful attackers were compelled to retreat. Just as they distanced themselves from Bai Suzhen, she swiftly tightened her body and leapt at one of them.

Bai Suzhen coiled around the Komodo dragon, quickly constricting it, and then turned to bite the second Komodo dragon that was in close proximity.

All of this unfolded within seconds. The two Komodo dragons hardly had a chance to react before she pounced on them, constricted one, and then attacked the other.

The Komodo dragon that she bit managed to escape her grip and put some distance between them. Meanwhile, the one she had constricted now had broken bones. Bai Suzhen exerted more pressure, and the bones gave way with a resounding crack, confirming the creature's demise.

Satisfied that one threat had been neutralized, she released her grip and turned her attention to the last remaining Komodo dragon.

The creature, already overwhelmed by Bai Suzhen's venom, couldn't spare any attention for her. It was struggling to endure the effects of her potent poison.

Bai Suzhen's venom proved lethal, causing the creature immense suffering.

Crgh!!

Eventually, realizing it couldn't contend with both the white snake before it and the colossal behemoth behind, the creature made a desperate decision. It fled, charging its body through the barrier of flames that surrounded it.

Unfortunately, this was a foolish move. The encircling flames were no ordinary blaze; they were composed of Di Tian's energy, imbued with magical properties.

Upon collision, the creature triggered a reaction. The flames surrounding it sprang to life with renewed vigor.

About a quarter of the flames forming the circle lunged at the creature like a savage beast.

The lone remaining Komodo dragon was engulfed in the flames, meeting a fiery demise. The flames continued to rage even after the creature's body had been reduced to ashes, leaving nothing behind but a memory of its existence.

"Feeling better now?" Di Tian approached Bai Suzhen, who was gazing at the remains of the last Komodo dragon and spoke.

HISS!!!

Bai Suzhen nudged her head against him and then slithered back to her favored spot.

Di Tian couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. Though he knew that these creatures posed no threat to Bai Suzhen, now a Celestial Serpent, he had still been on edge throughout the battle.
