The unexpected had happened. Contrary to what Kan and his brothers proposed would happen, a completely different scenario had occurred.
Both Tan and Lan had approached the golden crystal and red crystal respectively and with a touch, they had seemingly been imbued with the power of the crystal. It was evident that something had occurred as at the end of the day when they both got back on their feet after falling to their knees from the surge of power that went through them, they discovered one thing.
For the crystal, something had changed. Much like the golden-red crystal which lost its light and was dull, the red and golden-coloured crystal had lost their light as well.
But oddly, they felt something should have changed about themselves yet felt nothing of that nature. As a matter of fact, their bodies felt and looked the same.
Tan and Lan had hoped that perhaps they could become just as great as their brother, Kan was. But it didn't seem to be the case.
Kan saw how defeated they looked and offered his words of encouragement but none of that seemed to work as all they requested from him was to be taken back. He did as they said and led the way out of the deep mountain they were in.
They made their way to the top of the mountain where Kan felt it was safe for him to transform. The inside of the mountain kan considered would not be big enough to occupy his dragon form and might accidentally destroy the mountain along with his brothers should he risk it.
He was getting ready to change into his dragon form which his brothers rode on to get to the mountain. But in the middle of it, something strange began to happen that caused panic between the three brothers.
Lan had fallen on his knees and yelled out in pain and agony. He appeared to be in a great deal of pain that of which cause was unknown to the Kan and Tan until Lan yelled out a few words to them.
"The sun...protect me from the sun!!"Lan cried out and his brothers looked at themselves with disbelief. Lan was the youngest of the three and the thought of him perhaps pulling an act didn't stray too far from their minds.
But with continued screams and rolling on the floor that later ended abruptly, they were made to believe it was indeed a joke after all. This was the case until Lan stood up from the floor and began to exhibit strange behaviours.
He stood at a spot and groaned in what appeared to the other two brothers as painful pleasure. Lan was transforming right before their eyes into something they couldn't quite put into words.
Long claws grew out from his hands, his hands and feet grew and fattened in size, his nose and mouth seemingly fused into one and later on turned into a snout that was not too far from an animal they all could picture in their heads.
"What is this?!!"Tan screamed in horror and looked at Kan for answers. They were staring at their younger one who didn't look like anything they had seen before. Lan had blood-red eyes with skin that resembled a serpent's. Lan was terrifying to behold yet oddly, he screamed in joy.
Lan let out a mighty scream that shook the mountain they were on. Lan understood what had happened and was more than excited about it.
Lan walked up to Kan and enveloped him in a tight hug. Lan told them he felt reborn and powerful. Lan explained that he could feel a surge of power gushing through him.
Yet his brothers still felt uncomfortable mainly because he was something they didn't have a name to describe. The red crystal Lan had touched had given him a great deal of power. But at what cost, Kan and Tan wondered.
They weren't sure if the form he took was a permanent one but they were in no hurry to return to their wives. After waiting till the dark at the mountain, Lan finally transformed back to his normal self. But there was a problem.
Lan's transformation had ended but Tan's own began. Tan's screams echoed around the vicinity as he clutched a piece of rock and bit hard on it.
His body was changing much like Lan's. Tan grew fur on his back, arms and neck. Tan's ear morphed into that of an animal resembling a wolf. Tan grew extensively larger than his normal size just like Lan had.
His muscles bulged a great deal. Tan's face was turning. Kan watched with sorrow the pain his two brothers endured. It made him remember what he had endured. In his mind, they were lucky not to be anything like he was. It had taken a month before he could finish his first transformation. But that didn't shield him from the pain he experienced watching his brothers go through so much suffering. He had warned them that it would be so but they hadn't listened.
Tan's transformation was complete. And now unlike Lan, Tan's form was quite easy to figure out for the brothers. Tan was a wolf-human. Tan was a werewolf.
Tan was different when he transformed. His brothers could feel it. Tan was not himself and he proved it by launching at Lan.
Tan attacked Lan but with a surprise wave of Lan's hand, he fended the attack off and sent his brother skidding backwards with a claw mark on his chest.
But Tan could be seen visibly healing from this wound on the spot. Tan looked at his two brothers with predator-looking eyes that were golden in colour and jumped off the mountain.
Kan and Lan were surprised at this behaviour and immediately kan began to transform so as to fly and rescue his brother. But his transformation was a long process and he knew by the time he was done that Tan would be inevitably gone.
But he went through with it and with Lan riding on his back, they flew downwards in search of Tan. After a long search, Tan was found but not alone.
Tan had left a trail of dead animals all over. When they found Tan, he was feasting on one and refused to be interrupted.
Kan knew problems like these were bound to arise. But Kan didn't know there was one lying ahead bigger than all of them could handle.
Lan who was quiet before suddenly began to hiss like a serpent. Lan's eyes changed to a red colour and fangs penetrated the covering of his mouth. Lan was in a half-transformed state. But that was not the problem. The problem was that Lan was hungry and Lan didn't want flesh. Lan wanted blood. ....
...
"So he wanted blood. Don't do this to me again young or old lady. I'm quite sure you must be old because this act carried out by you can only be conceived by an old, lonely and wicked soul. Tell me, are you lonely?" Finn asked the voice again. He alone stood in a vast cloud-like space. In front of him was a yellow light and from it came the voice that spoke to him.
"We shall continue another time, mortal. I have things that require my attention at the moment, "The voice answered.
"Do you need a bathroom break? Because I'm pretty sure the gods don't have certain apparatus that facilitate that act," Finn muttered. He said this in a tone that suggested he was trying to keep it to himself but at the same time loud enough to be heard.
"How do you know I'm a god?"The voice asked.
"Okay, so we are going to skip the important part where you bring to light what the god's physiology and anatomy might be into asking obvious questions? If you must know, I categorize anything with immense power such as yours who can enter my dream and act like it's your house, tell stories of great wisdom and show immortal capabilities to be wicked as not to finish it each time as a god, "Finn answered.
"You spew too much nonsense mortal. I will send you back to where you belong now," The voice warned.
"Here we go again,"...
