Clara who was lost in a world of her own just like her master finally snapped out of it and asked her mistress, " Madam surely the brat you're talking about is not master is it?"
The startled Adriana replied, " Clara dear even if that husband of mine is indeed a brat I'm talking about my daughter's good for nothing ex-fiancé. Not only is he a brat, he is also too blinded by love to the point he believes everything that snake's daughter says. A snake's daughter will always be a snake I see. I was foolish to think that atleast that child would be innocent with that cute innocent appearance of hers. Are all cute innocent women a bi- no how can I say such words, but I guess Clara is an exception.
And if that brat didn't want to be with my daughter all he had to do was ask us to break off the engagement, but he dared send his men to tarnish my pure daughter. He-" Adriana snarled as she thought of her daughter's plight at the hands of her dearly loved one. How she wished she could break the neck of those two-faced couple.
The startled Clara interrupted her mistress's rummination, and said, " Madam what are you saying? Young lady Annalise is barely 3 years old and has not yet been betrothed so how can she have a fiancé. And Madam are you sure you're alright? It must be the drinks you had yesterday night. So should I have the doctor prescribe a remedy for your hangover. I've never seen you loose your composure and talk so much in years that I'm worried. I've had Jessy call a doctor for you, why don't you try to check your health it's been years since you had to call a doctor for yourself."
Adriana who had lost her senses the moment she heard that her daughter was barely 3 years old, felt like a cold basin of water was poured on her. How can my baby who was about to be married at the age of 18 but because of the selfishness and greed of her ex-fiancé, be barely 3 years old? Have I lost my mind or is Clara. What is going on? Aargh!! Just what the hell is going on?
Adriana for the first time after waking up again realised she never looked where she was and realised she made a mistake she never should have. How can a person who wields a sword and had to be in a battlefield, even if was for experience make a fatal mistake and not identify her surroundings?
She looked around to find herself in a moderately but luxuriously arranged room which seems to strongly resemble the room where she stayed for the first 7 years of her marriage with the incorrigible ever unimpressible Duke Auguste Von Britten, my husband in name, whose face I've barely seen a couple of times in a year I guess.
"Clara you're surely not joking are you? Is this not afterlife? I mean the last I remember I was beheaded along with the entire family, of course we pleaded to spare the innocent, so I can't understand why you are here" Adraina blurted out her thoughts, only to see Clara about to burst into tears.
