Chapter 4 - DECISION

Thgil looked puzzlingly at Clay and asked,

"What's wrong? You always act that way when ever we're having a good time".

Clay didn't say a word.

Thgil pushed further.

"Clay, tell me what's wrong".

She said looking sternly into his eyes.

Clay sighed and said,

"When ever we're like this...."

"Yeah?"

"I... always see a....a..a".

"A what?"

"A spider". Clay said shivering.

"Sooooooo...uh...where do you see this spider?".

"On your neck".

Thgil was dumbfounded, 'a spider, seriously!'

"Clay, I know you're scared of spider, but if there's a spider...on my neck, then you'd know that it won't hurt you".

Clay looked at her with wide eyes and asked "Really?".

"Yeah, cause it belongs to me and whatever is mine and me would never hurt you, ok ?".

Clay smiled and replied "Ok", then he hugged her.

Thgil responded to the hug and they stayed that way.

Granny came out and saw them like that.

She smiled.

Mr. Todoroki coming behind her to send her off was about saying something but got shushed by Granny.

"Let me enjoy their moment".

Todoroki looked to see what she meant.

And he saw the two kids hugging.

Awwww! so beautiful.

Thgil and Clay pulled from the hug and was surprised to see Granny and the pharmacist looking at them.

"Oh, you guys finished, so I guess we're leaving now". Thgil said.

"Thank you so much, Mr. pharmacist".

"Any time, Miss Izami, see you on Monday".

"Bye!". Thgil and Clay waved.

Along the way home, Thgil asked Granny,

"Ummm, what did he meant by 'see you on monday' I hope the 'you' was for you alone and not us".

Granny laughed and said,

"Don't worry, honey you'd know soon enough when we get home".

Thgil looked at her suspiciously.

They got home later.

'What!!!?'

Thgil thought feeling overwhelmed, though careful not to show it on her face.

They had arrived home and since it was evening, prepared dinner.

In the midst of them eating, Granny started a conversation.

Granny: So Thgil, what hand work do you think would be ok for you?

Thgil: *silent for some moments* Which do you think is good for me? I mean there's tailoring, baking, hair dressing, mechanic.....

Granny: *interrupting* And there's also pharmacy.

Thgil: *looking at her suspiciously* Yeah, pharmacy.

Granny: *buzzes excitedly* Okay Thgil, I have the perfect job for you.

Thgil: *knowing exactly what she meant* Yeah....Ok...

Clay: *chomping furiously on his drum stick, not caring to make heads or tails of what they're saying*.

Granny: And I got a deal with the pharmacist and you'll start on Monday, 50 000's a big amount but you'll gain so much from it.

Thgil: *inwardly, What!!!?*

Granny: *seeing the semi bewildered look on Thgil's face*

So do you like it?

Thgil: *Seeing the expectant look on Granny's face couldn't say no, she stared at granny for some moments and said* Yeah, I do, it's amazing.

Granny: *laughing happily* I knew you would, plus it would aid you wellin the future, you start on Monday.

Thgil scooped up the remnants of food on her plate, got up and said "Granny, thanks ma'am".

Granny smiled and replied "Thanks to God, and if you do not like the pharmacy idea, we could always go for others".

She nodded.

Thgil walked into the kitchen to drop her dish in the sink and was about walking out when she heard,

"I don't want to remind you to wash your plates after eating!".

"Man!".

Thgil walked off into her room after washing her plate of course.

Clay walked in later and they prayed before going to bed.

Soon Clay started snoring, While Thgil, restless thought.

Actually Thgil had zero interest in drugs.

It surprised her that granny had suddenly made this proposal, she knew granny would be disappointed if she rejected the proposal.

She could remember distinctly the day granny took her home, as she grew up.

She resolved to make sure granny never regretted it by always leading the class.

So granny would point to her proudly and say,

"This is my granddaughter, she's always ahead of her class".

But she never did.....

But this could change everything, granny would be proud of her and wouldn't consider her a...a....a... burden.

Thgil shivered as she thought about that, terrible memories.

Plus as granny said it would contribute much positively to her future.

That settled the rest.

She would go.

But if Thgil had even a tiny glance into how the pharmacy thing would affect her future, she would have refused vehemently.

For its effect on her future would seem more negative than positive...

But then again that would depend on how she used it....

Back in the shop, Mr. Todoroki was finally closing up for the day.

He heard footsteps outside his shop and sighed,

'Last costumer for the day I guess'.

The door 'clinged' and standing right in front of him contrary to his expectations was his worst nightmare.
