Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 23 — Real Identity of the Donor

Meanwhile, in another room at Jinsang Hospital, a well-known actor was visiting his Grandpa — a middle-aged man in a patient suit who informed him that last night, Seoyul's mother came to visit him. But apparently Seoyul looked normal when he responded to the news. It was not that he was not happy with his mother coming to the hospital to visit his grandfather and see his grandfather's health condition. However, the wound in Seoyul's heart that her mother had created, is still wet.

"Seoyul, last night, Your Mom came here," said Grandpa. But Seoyul who was sitting in front of his grandfather looked silent. "It's been a long time. It's been a few years. But you still can't forgive your mother?" asked the middle-aged man after he finished his meal.

After he finished feeding his Grandpa, Seoyul moved the empty bowl of porridge from his hands onto the nightstand beside his Grandpa's patient bed. "Is it important to her? Does my apology make sense to her?" Seoyul replied curtly whenever he and his grandfather talked about his mother. "Since she left me, she means nothing to me. Since she left me, then since then I don't have any relationship with her anymore," explained Seoyul.

Grandpa gave an awkward smile. It was clear on his face, there was a hint of disappointment when he heard Seoyul's answer about his mother. "Okay. We really don't need to talk about it anymore," Grandpa replied. Then this middle-aged man changed the subject. "I heard from Kim Seok that Yuri will return to Seoul soon after she graduates," Grandpa said in a soft and slow voice and sounded cautious.

"Is that true?" asked Seoyul who knew nothing about it.

Seoyul's grandfather looked at Seoyul confused. "Hey! Don't think Your Grandpa is stupid! Granpa knows that you've been single all this time because you've always waited for Yuri. You and Yuri were always together since childhood, then separated when you two grew up — since Yuri continued her studies in Australia. Don't you like Yuri?" Grandpa asked while teasing his grandson.

From what Grandpa said to his grandson, it seemed that the two of them were talking about a woman who made Seoyul not have a girlfriend for years, because Seoyul was always waiting for that woman.

Seoyul chuckled for a moment. "Grandpa, it's not like that." Seoyul denies. "So far, Yuri has been like my own sister," said Seoyul. His words took his grandfather by surprise.

"Your sister?" Grandpa asked. He couldn't believe what Seoyul had said to him earlier. "Wait! If you don't like Yuri, it doesn't mean you like Kim Seok or Juyeon or Zhuyang, right?" guess Grandpa. It seems Grandpa was worried if the bad rumors circulating about his grandson were true.

Seoyul then burst out laughing. "Does Grandpa also think that I'm not normal? Does Grandpa also think that I've always liked fellow men?" sneered Seoyul which made Grandpa giggle.

"No! Of course not Seoyul," Grandpa replied. "Grandpa knows and fully understands, that you don't trust other people, especially women because of Your Mom," said Grandpa with a big and wise heart. "You don't know how to trust other people. You can't trust anyone for years. But Seoyul, i am old. I can't live forever by your side. I can't be with you forever. Therefore, i hope that you will find someone who can love you. A woman who can be with you. I want you to have a woman who will not only love and be with you. But she will also comfort you and take care of you." Grandpa looked at Seoyul expectantly. "Then Grandpa will feel at ease. If not, then Grandpa will be anxious forever," he added. "Seoyul, whoever you like, of course Grandpa will like it too. As long as it's not just one of your best friends, Zhuyang, Kim Seok, or Juyeon."

Grandpa's very detailed words instantly made Seoyul laugh again. "Grandpa..." Seoyul grabbed Grandpa's hand and wrapped it tightly with both hands. "You don't have to worry like this. You don't worry too much and don't think too much about this problem," Seoyul replied after the laughter subsided. "I will think about the matter of marriage as soon as possible." Seoyul said with a serious look on his eyes and facial expression.

"Hey! Do you have a girlfriend?" Grandpa asked with a gleam in his eyes and a charming smile.

Seoyul then nodded his head without hesitation. "Yes.. That's how it is, Grandpa," he answered with certainty.

"What do you mean? Say it clearly Seoyul. Do you have a girlfriend or not?" Grandpa asked again because he seemed doubtful with his grandson's answer. Seoyul sighed then he lowered his head and dropped his gaze. "Seoyul, don't you have time to date because of your job? Does your manager at the company give you so many jobs that you don't have time to find a girlfriend?" Grandpa moved his face a little closer to Seoyul. "Tell Grandpa, what's wrong Seoyul? I will help you!" continued Grandpa firmly.

Seoyul cracked a smile. "No Grandpa! I mean, I understand that marriage is an important thing right now. So just wait," replied Seoyul casually.

"That's good then. But don't take too long Seoyul!" Grandpa said then Seoyul nodded and laughed with Grandpa before he left Grandpa to go back to work.

Marriage — for Seoyul, marriage is a journey to become a very solid team. Where Seoyul will spend the rest of his life learning about each other, and sometimes things blow up too. But the beauty of marriage in Seoyul's eyes is that if he manages to choose the right person and they both love each other, then Seoyul will always find a way to overcome every challenge and obstacle in his marriage.

That night, Dalmi searches for information about Zhuyang's best friend named Seoyul — a man who turns out to be not only a classy actor, but Seoyul is also a singer, songwriter, dancer, and a great composer who is the most famous in America. And when Dalmi read the information about Seoyul, suddenly Dalmi's brothers came over to Dalmi who was sitting alone at the dining table.

"Huhhh..." Zhuyang plopped down on the dining chair. This man looks tired after a hard day at work. "Dalmi, what about your spinal cord test results? Have you got the results yet?" Zhuyang asked as one hand grabbed the empty glass on the dining table and filled it with water from the teapot.

Dalmi looked at Zhuyang who sat opposite her, while Changyi sat on Dalmi's right, then Yinjun sat on Zhuyang's left. "Here are my test results." Dalmi handed a white envelope with the Jinsang Hospital logo to the center of the dining table.

Seeing the white envelope that came from Jinsang Hospital was in the middle of the dining table, Zhuyang's hand quickly grabbed it. Then he opened the envelope and looked at its contents. Zhuyang's eyes widened when he read the contents of the envelope. He could not believe that the writing on the envelope stated that Dalmi was positive for Leukemia.

"What is this? Didn't they misdiagnose you? It could be that your spinal cord test results are confused with someone else's." Zhuyang looked at Dalmi. "I can't believe this!! How can I neglect to take care of my own sister, Lord.." said Zhuyang. Then, at the same time, this man's tears streamed down his handsome face.

Realizing that Zhuyang was crying, Yinjun quickly took the white paper from Zhuyang's hand. He looked at the contents of the paper. "Oh my God.. This must be a lie.. It must be mixed up! Dalmi Noona can't be sick. She's fine!!" Yinjun said while sobbing in tears.

"What do you mean, hyung?!" Changyi snapped. And then he stood up from his seat roughly until the chair he was sitting on shifted backwards. "Dalmi Noona is fine! She's not sick! Look at her face not pale at all! Yesterday she was just tired!" said Changyi with his trembling voice.

Dalmi stared blankly at Zhuyang, Yinjun, and Changyi. After that, Dalmi grabbed their hands and held them tightly. "Hey, calm down! The clock of my life is indeed moving backwards, and the rest of my time is also not much. But I will make sure that I will not die just because of this cancer," Dalmi answered very clearly.

Changyi sat limply in his chair. "So you really have Leukemia?" He asked tearfully.

Dalmi nodded. "Zhuyang Oppa, Yinjun, Changyi, don't worry too much. I told you that I won't die just from this disease, even though the clock of life drawn on my right hand is moving backwards non-stop," Dalmi said with a smile. "This cancer can be treated with drugs, in addition to stem cell transplantation. And the doctor also asked me to do chemotherapy immediately before I find and get a bone marrow donor that matches me." Dalmi gives understanding to her brothers so that they feel calmer.

"Doesn't a hospital as big and sophisticated as Jinsang Hospital have a match for you?" Yinjun asked.

"Actually there is. But Doctor Young Dae said that the donor doesn't want to donate his spinal cord right now," Dalmi replied before she looked back at her laptop and searched for information about Seoyul on the internet.

"Who is it?! Can't Juyeon Hyung help us? I mean, he's a doctor at the hospital," said Changyi.

One corner of Dalmi's lips lifted upwards. "I've broken up with him. I canceled all my wedding plans with him." Dalmi showed off her innocent finger without her engagement ring with Juyeon.

"Is he cheating on you again?" Changyi asked after he wiped his tears.

Less than half a minute, Dalmi immediately answered the curiosity of Changyi and the other two brothers with a simple nod of her head.

PLAAKKK!! Yinjun hit the dining table hard and shocked Dalmi, Zhuyang and Changyi. "Dalmi Noona!! I beg you not to get your heart broken just because of him!" Yinjun said with an angry expression. "There are many men out there. But good ones are rare," he continued. Meanwhile, Dalmi was giggling because she didn't even care about it anymore.

"Yinjun Hyung, calm down. Now Dalmi Noona has found a new target." Changyi looked at Dalmi's laptop and the information Dalmi was searching on the internet. This man felt relieved because he thought Dalmi was not heartbroken anymore. Changyi thought Dalmi was focused on pursuing a new target.

"New target?! Who?!" asked Yinjun and Zhuyang in unison with their eyes wide and surprised expressions.

"Seoyul Hyung," Changyi replied casually, but Changyi's words only made Yinjun and Zhuyang even more shocked.

"Seoyul?! But why should it be Seoyul? I mean, what's the thing that made you suddenly attracted to Seoyul?" Zhuyang frowned as he looked at Dalmi.

"Because Seoyul has what I don't have," Dalmi replied. "Seoyul has bone marrow that I really need. He is a suitable donor for me. His name is on the list of donors I saw in Doctor Young Dae's room today," She said, surprising her three siblings.

When Dalmi was in Doctor Young Dae's room...

After Doctor Young Dae left his room, Dalmi bravely took the opportunity. She opens the patient and donor information document lying on Doctor Young Dae's desk.

"Seoyul.." Dalmi muttered with a surprised expression when she saw a familiar name in her eyes, on the list of patients and donors. "So, Seoyul is the donor that Doctor Young Dae was referring to?" Dalmi wondered with disbelief that enveloped her heart.
