Chapter 65 - Operation Wipe Out

"How vicious was that, I may ask?" Foren asked, turning his head to Cadin, awaiting an answer. The group was walking on top of a bridge, getting closer to where the camp leaders reside.

"Our camp was burned, they outnumbered us heavily and backed us into a corner, but we managed to hold on thanks to the efforts of my men and I." They stepped off the bridge, now closer to the leader's abode.

"Do you know which camp they came from?" Fforen stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking again.

"Unsure, but they came from beyond here, but their direction seems to indicate that they came from the large camp that nears ours, the one that had caused issues since the beginning of our two tribes." Foren opened the door to the home. Inside, a small group of armored and cloaked men & women stood around the two leaders, speaking incoherently to each other while staring at a pile of maps unfurled on the table.

"Mother, Father, the white haired warrior returned. And Father's theory was correct, they were attacked." He reported, catching the attention of all near the table.

"Cadin and on short notice you have arrived. Since the assumption was correct, join us in planning. We will need you heavily along with your men in this war." Cadin and Joken neared the group, peering at the arranged set of maps, all detailing parts of the forest, placed near each other to form a larger one.

"Our position is here," Silvia placed a small leaf on the center of the map, above it were three arrows pointing at a single position above it.

"Our enemy resides north here, from reports we have gathered, they are preparing a larger army, the one sent to Cadin's was more of a unit taken from the army. We have also retrieved reports that this camp had formed a pact with a few other tribes, binding them to it. That is all we know. Foren, explain what you have gathered so far." Foren approached the table, standing near Silvia and looking down at the map.

"From what my scouts have found, before the large number of forces moved across the forest they have not only seen a growing number of soldiers trained in the camp, but even ones bearing different symbols. The other camps are providing manpower to this camp. Furthermore we have found that more platforms were hastily created, all with the purpose of training and storage. When the unit returned from battle and moved in the trees we attempted to engage them, losing a few once more but managed to take down a good number of them, all retreated rapidly so we lost track of where they went, that and our group was stretched thinly." He explained, looking up to Cadin after speaking.

"Cadin, we will require your army's support heavily in this plan, because our plan now is to attack head on. With the army growing and time running thin before what sort of plan they have in mind, attacking the other camps will simply hinder them slightly. Thus, we need a large and sudden attack on where the main force is. I managed to mobilize more soldiers to provide support from above, but as of now." He pointed at the position where all arrows pointed to in the map.

"The plan we drafted involved concentrating our forces in a single dense area to fight them and eventually raid them on the platforms. Concentrating your arrows at the packed soldiers above to inflict as many casualties as possible." He sighed.

"Though this is a draft, and we have one attempt at this. We have heard that you successfully attacked many camps before, what are your insights with this?"

'An assault from one area? I might as well paint my men yellow and make them stand in the open.' Cadin neared the map, looking down at the position and thinking of a new plan to perform.

He cleared his throat before beginning, "A concentrated force will make resistance far more difficult, we may kill many on their side, but my army will surely also suffer similar to greater amounts of deaths. What could be done though." He moved his finger in a circle around the position.

"What could be done is to move my forces around the target, once all are in position. We will begin firing at the enemy, in a short time my forces and your forces will assault the platforms themselves while the defenders are occupied with the arrows below." The advisors looked attentively, understanding what Cadin had said.

"That could work." One of the advisors spoke. "But forgive me, lord Foren. But at this moment our new soldiers are hastily trained and have no experience, with this our force is significantly smaller than theirs." Foren turned to the advisor who spoke.

"I understand your fears with this advisor Kolim, but I can assure you. With Cadin's forces, we will have enough to face the entire enemy. As of now, time is running out. And since Cadin is here, we may commence the attack immediately." He turned back to Cadin.

"Cadin, we will wait until your forces have reached the top, each tree that has platforms there is a stairwell, use those." Cadin nodded in reply.

"Our attack must be rapid and swift, we may be smaller, but we have the advantage of surprise, shock, and confusion on our side." Cadin spoke one more time.

"Then it is settled." Silvia took the maps and began stacking them.

"Begin this plan at once and finish this ongoing war once and for all. Good luck to you all, this meeting is dismissed." After hearing her words, everyone dispersed, heading for the door. Foren walked with Cadin and Joken.

"Good luck, and take this map." Foren handed Cadin a piece of the map Silvia had taken earlier. The map piece at the center with the position to attack.

"Thank you." Cadin said, looking down at it.

"Just make sure this plan succeeds. The fate of our tribe and your army rests on this. BEst of luck to all of us."

After speaking, Foren ran up one of the trees and Cadin, along with his men, stepped on the elevator, preparing for the battle that will commence.
