Chapter 17 - Deceived

Rohan smiled when hearing Doma's question. "Of course, I can. And I can also see how messy you are right now. It's a very rare thing to see, you know…"

"You have put us all in danger, Rohan; everyone on this ship! And you have also damaged my ship. The fact that you're doing all this for the sake of a cursed witch is unforgivable." Doma hissed.

The Bardahon clan leader indeed looked different from usual. The unexpected chaos had put him in a state where he had to act without having a chance to keep his hair neat.

When Rohan hadn't had a chance to reply to Doma's words, Jenzigh and his two husbands came over to join in on the conversation, or rather said: the nagging.

"You're finally here, Jenzigh. I thought you were going to run away for the shame of your beloved son's behaviour." Banda chuckled.

"How can a mother raise a child like him?" She continued as she stepped closer. She looked down at Jenzigh very lowly.

"You-"

"You have no idea what you just said, Lady." Rohan cut his mother's sentence. He glared at Banda. "You can insult my mother, but it would be a completely different story if you put my name in it. I don't have to act stupid to wait for you to actually say my name, do I?"

"Well, you've always been that good at talking, young man. But if you are that genius, you should understand why I said my words." Banda replied.

"You have to reflect on yourself, Rohan. I'm sure you understand that what you just did was terribly wrong and caused a lot of disadvantages to us." Doma explained.

Rohan sighed harshly as his brows twitched. He folded his arms in front of his chest. "Very well. Of course I understand that I have brought harm to you. But it's not like this ship cannot be repaired with the pile of gold we've mined, is it? As my responsibility, I will compensate. Satisfied?"

"You don't understand, do you?" Doma rubbed his temple which felt ached. "I do have big consideration about the damage to this ship. And you're right about how much gold we got. But I know you understand that it's not just about the loss, Rohan. It's more about your inappropriate action."

Doma sharpened his gaze. "You saved that witch when you knew exactly that she was no longer of any use to us. You have jeopardized this mission from the start. That's something every villain shouldn't do. There should never be someone with a heart like yours to join us and have a part in controlling this mission."

Hearing that, Rohan chuckled wickedly. "If so, you have to get used to it or never be on the same mission with Egoxar anymore. You know who the next leader of the Egoxar clan will be, don't you? Better know early on that I'm not the type to abandon someone who has given me advantages." He explained while giving his mother a sarcastic tone.

Then he continued, "So, it will be your decision in the end; work alone by relying on your ship alone or team up with Egoxar with a leader whose personality you don't like."

However, Doma's expression was not what Rohan expected. The Bardahon clan leader looked confused as he looked at Jenzigh when he should have put on an annoyed expression at Rohan's insulting answer.

"What is it?" Rohan asked with a frown. He looked at Doma and his parents in turn.

Jenzigh took a deep breath, and began to speak, "Unfortunately, you're not, Rohan."

"Not what?" Rohan looked deep into Jenzigh's eyes.

"You are not the next leader of the Egoxar clan, Rohan. You never will be," Jenzigh continued.

Rohan's eyes widen. "What are you saying? That's what you promised me since I was 17. You have seen my superpowers – my abilities. I've done various tough tests just to show that I deserve to be the leader after you!"

With a furious face, Rohan strode violently towards his mother until there was only a five-centimetre gap between their foreheads.

Even though Rohan was her own son, Jenzigh couldn't help but feel cornered by him. Rohan's anger was indeed terrifying. His two beautiful purplish eyes turned dreadfully murderous when he raged like this.

Even so, Jenzigh wasn't a weak lady either. Basically, Rohan got his stubbornness and strong stance from his mother. Because of that, Jenzigh stood her ground still, and of course, on her decision, no matter how huge Rohan's rage was.

The woman shook her head. She looked back into her son's sharp eyes. "You are still living in my leadership, Rohan. I am the leader of this clan and everyone must move according to my orders. I changed my decision just as you made your move to save the witch.

I don't do this because you want to rebel against us. But I know that was not your usual way of making a fuss. It was really your heart that made you choose to do it.

You saved her because you felt sorry for her. It was because you couldn't fight the good side that always ruined your heart. You know that's something no villain should have.

Isn't it a very strong reason that you can't become the leader of the clan Egoxar villain, Rohan?"

Rohan's two eyes shook. He stared at his mother with big killer eyes as if they could bore a hole through her head.

Everyone in the hall overheard their conversation. It was an informal statement that the crown of the next leader of the Egoxar clan had changed heads.

Rohan had been humiliated in front of everyone. He thought his position would be irreplaceable; that's what the parents promised him because he was the strongest of all the Egoxar children. It was what he knew and what everyone admitted. But he was wrong.

It turned out that being the strongest and greatest was not enough. It was simply because of the unimportant clean spot that his parents had been fussing about his whole life.

In fact, Rohan was sure that the damn clean spot would not be a hindrance in his future leadership. It would not stop him from becoming the greatest villain.

But it seemed that those people were too cowardly that they fail to understand that the clean spot was nothing compared to his strength and intelligence.

What was even more painful was that his status was removed from Rohan's chest exactly one year before he officially received the next Egoxar clan leader title. He should have received it at the age of 21, which was the next year.

All the efforts Rohan had done against his will all this time only led him to the fact that he had been squeezed dry by his own family with a huge gift as bait. He had been deceived.
