Leander's hand reaching to his mouth paused. He looked at Evander. Evander's eyes were red as if he was feeling something. He's never seen his brother getting emotional.
He thought that Evander might be faking it.
But during the rest of dinner, Evander didn't say much except for sharing some of his memories with their father when they went to Abenney together. He looked solemn and even smiled from his heart as he reminisced about that outing, just like when he was when he gave the eulogy at their father's funeral.
He was honest with his emotions!
It surprised Leander. When Evander talked to Viviana with his pretend charm, he was irked. He wanted his wife to not show her feelings to him. She handled him well. And now, he is seeing a genuine side of his brother.
