After that day of clearing the Dungeon Gate, Seth and Rim head out on their journey toward the Country of Wishes.
Notice: The Country of wishes is in the Southern area of the Desert. Based on the current user's maximum speed, the user will arrive there within a day of running.
"Seriously? I'm that fast? But I've only been running and walking like a normal person normally. Only when I'm dodging that I somehow sometimes speed up."
Notice: Due to equipment as well as the double in the stat line, the user can travel around 100+ meters per second. The speed stat is only a threshold on the maximum travel distance you can achieve. Since activation is practiced consciously while running/teleporting, the user as well as myself- the system. has only been using it while dodging enemy attacks during fights to maximize not being hit.
(Oh, I guess it's that instinctive dash mechanic in games that I somehow speed up to dodge.)
Notice: That is why the user has only been running and walking normally at the same speed threshold as a normal person/monster.
"So you are telling me that I will need to run while consciously thinking about speeding up, right? Since my maximum speed when running/teleporting would be around 100+ MPs."
Notice: That is exactly correct.
(Uriel sure has grown to be more of a person that replies now. It's kind of worrying me. I can't believe that Uriel is a separate entity from the god soul that resided in me as well. I thought that after that upgrade, the god soul would be merged with Uriel but instead, it resided within me and I can't even detect its presence. I just know it's inside me.)
Notice: Uriel can hear the user's thoughts.
"F*k. Anyway, let's get moving. Since I still want to raise Rim to lvl 100, I'll just walk my way toward the country. I believe we can encounter a lot of monsters as well. I want to see those Sand Dragon skills of Rim in person."
(I guess every Auto-Battle level-up means Uriel will be more perceptive and human-like, huh?)
Seth and Rim walked for over an hour before encountering a strong enough enemy that caught their eye. All the monsters they've encountered so far have been lvl 50 and below which Rim killed instantly with just his base slime form.
Notice: Sand Dune Worm level 81 is beneath the User.
(Finally, something that is over lvl 50. I hope it'll give us a lot of experience. So far, I've only known that higher-level monsters would give way more experience when you're under-leveled. But since we are around level 100, I don't know if there are other monsters that are stronger than us besides the ancient dragons. I'm sure there are, I just need to find them. I'm pretty sure that the ruins and dungeons scale up to my level from when I first encountered them as well. I don't know why but it felt that way.)
Notice: Sand Dune Worm is swallowing the user. Escape is highly possible.
"Rim, turn into your sand dragon form I want to see you fight using it."
Notice: Rim changed into his Sand Dragon Form.
Rim flew up into the air as Seth just dodged the sinking hole that wanted to swallow him.
"Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation."
(Okay, I think this is far enough.)
Notice: The user can spam the skill, Teleportation, into the air. This will allow the user to acquire a new skill, Controlled Levitation.
"You mean Fly?"
Notice: In simple terms, Yes. The user can fly in the air. The requirement for the skill is 300 seconds in mid-air. The User has enough mana to perform it.
(I haven't acquired many skills through specific requirements for a long time now. Thanks, Uriel.)
"Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation."
Seth spammed his teleportation skill upwards as he kept on rising up and up.
"Rim! Keep him company for a while but don't kill it. I'll just finish this!"
"...."
(I don't understand Rim but I do think he understands anything that I say.)
"Teleportation. Teleportation. Teleportation."
(I'm not going to lie but even though I have a fear of heights back then, I don't feel much fear now. Is it because I know I'm strong enough that even if I just fall I won't die? Or maybe because I have Uriel to catch my back?)
Notice: Uriel will prioritize the survival of the user.
"Reassuring... somehow... ahahah."
After 5 minutes, a notice popped up.
Notice: The User has learned a new skill, Controlled Levitation.
Passive Skill:
Controlled Levitation:
-Allows the user to fly and control his movements in the air. Maximum speed is proportional to the speed-to-meter ratio of the user. (5 speed is to 1 meter).
"This skill is pretty useful."
(Wait I just thought of such an op combo.)
"Uriel, next time we fight a boss can you follow my combo attack?"
Notice: What is a combo attack?
"Oh, I'm stupid. I meant to do this. You can teleport, teleport then teleport strike, and repeat. Since I don't have any cooldown on my teleport skill, I can teleport strike whenever I have it on cooldown. It's like a 10x nuke every 3 seconds. I also teleport away instantly right after and teleport to another spot until the teleport strike is off cooldown and repeat. While the boss is busy hunting me down, my shadows can burst him with attacks as well. Rim can just stand by and handle off something else unless we need him."
Notice: Usage of the said "combo" - teleport, teleport, teleport strike, will be implemented for the next boss fight.
(I don't know how to properly explain it but I guess Uriel somehow gets it.)
Seth then hovered just above Rim and the Sand Dune Worm and gave him permission to kill it. Rim then went all out using some of the Sand Dragon's strongest skills to kill it.
Notice: Rim is using the skill, Sand Erosion.
The sand that was hiding the Sand Dune Worm is slowly disintegrating as if the place beneath was turning into eroded sand which is being disintegrated, exposing the Worm's bare body.
Notice: Rim is using the skill, Sandstorm.
The Sand Dune worm that was exposed is slowly being damaged by the sand storm even though it was living in sand.
"I thought that sand-dwelling monsters would surely have resistance to such but I guess not."
Notice: Some monsters have resistance to such elements in the environments they live. An example is sand dragons. Although they are called sand dragons, they only have a bit of resistance to sand base attacks which they themselves conjure. Only elemental beings, such as slimes, can be completely resistant due to their adaptability skill. Sand Dune Worms however have a bit of resistance to fire.
Notice: Rim is using the skill, The prisoner of the Desert.
Before the sand dune worm realizes that it had no chance of winning, A hardened wall of sand encapsulated it before it could borrow away.
Notice: Rim is using Sandstorm.
Rim used one last sandstorm inside the prison to slowly kill it.
"Wait, does Rim not have dragon-specific skills? Even dragon passives at least?"
Notice: The passive skill of the HoarFrost Dragon is in effect to buff the Sand Dragon form of Rim. All passive skills from all different forms are always in effect and will always positively benefit Rim even though he is not in the said forms.
Notice: Sand Dune Worm is dead.
"Okay, that gave little to no experience. Ah, how long do we need to grind for Rim to level up to 100? There are barely any monsters here in the desert only some animals and insects."
(Okay, I'll let Rim hitch a ride on me for now and I'll spam teleport to hunt some monsters.)
"Uriel, take over."
Notice: Activating Summon Dark Shadow Army and scattering them around. Notice, Maximizing teleporting while flying to hunt down any monsters that are encountered.
Seth and Rim ended up spending two nights and three days grinding for some monsters in the barren desert. They've encountered thousands of monsters and nearly scan wiped out the whole northern area of the desert of Carabis.
LVL UP! LVL 115.
(I ended up leveling faster since I was the one hunting down most of the monsters because of my Dark Shadow Army instead of Rim, hehe.)
Notice: Rim is lvl 100. Level Ascension is possible.
Notice: Requirements are 3x ruin artifacts + level 100.
"Finally! I can ascend his level! Ascend Rim's level, Uriel."
Notice: Level ascension is successful. Rim is lvl 100/200.
Notice: Rim the Slime King is now Rim the Slime Lord not just in title but in actuality from his level ascension.
"Congratulations Rim!"
Seth hugged Rim as Rim stretched out his body to bind Seth.
"Okay, calm down. Not this kind of hug."
Notice: We are nearing the edge of the Northern area of the Desert plains of Carabis.
Seth flew up and saw a city in a distance, a couple of miles away.
Notice: A city from the country of wishes is within the User's sight.
"Wait, before I go. I'll make sure to be prepared for this first."
(I think I'll be spending a lot of time in the city so I can't grind. I need around 5 more levels to max my Auto-Battle. I guess I'll max my Dark Shadow Army and ascend it to be a passive skill.)
"Max level up Summon Dark Shadow Army and ascend to Passive Dark Shadow Army."
Notice: Summon Dark Shadow Army is maxed. Successfully ascended to Passive Dark Shadow Army. 3 Skill points left.
(Passive) Dark Shadow Army Max:
-Conjures a Dark Army made of Shadow to Fight for the User.
-100x Dark Shadow Greater(50% of the User's base stats).
-Each Dark Shadow Greater will permanently reside within the user's shadows.
-Each Dark Shadow Greater can be resummoned separately when killed.
-Cost for resummoning 1 Dark Shadow Greater: 1% of the User's Max Mp.
Notice: Sub-skill, Shadow Realm, is learned.
Shadow Realm:
-A domain within the user where dark beings are stored. Maximum beings stored are proportional to the User's level.
Current 100/115.
Notice: The user also acquired a new skill upgrade through requirements from spamming the skill teleportation. Greater Teleportation has been learned.
Greater Teleportation:
-Teleports to a distance that is tantamount to 1 to 5 times the speed of the user. Every 5-speed is 1 meter traveled. The maximum distance teleported is equivalent to the maximum speed-to-ratio traveled.
"Alright. Time to head towards this City. It's been almost two months alone with Rim in the desert, I want to chill. I've got some monster loots that I can sell as well to have something to fund my stay there."
(I wonder how Lady Alice and the others are doing.)
