"Time to visit the sorcery shop again, I want to at least get some new skills to learn."
Notice: About the Feline race, they are barely extinct. There are only a couple of them living in a small village in the continent of Repreus. Anybody who left the village has accepted their fate of being close to extinction and is just exploring the world. A few have entered as adventurers of the guild and some are just living a normal life.
(I'd be damn lucky if I see one again. Well, hopefully, it's a cat girl next time.)
Seth went to a sorcery shop that was nearby the guild in hopes to get new skills.
"Welcome, how may I serve you, my dear traveler? I see that you are not from here."
(What skills do I need the most? Maybe something to buff my summons and Rim? I've already got good sensing skills, another nuke skill like a Teleport strike might be good as well. So I got no downtime on my damage. I'm sure I'm already quite agile. I can also get more defensive skills to survive some nuke skills when I'm fighting someone stronger than me. My Guardian skill is gone and I only have the triad spirits to rely on when I'm low Hp.)
"Do you have some high-grade shield skills as well as high damage greater skills?"
"I see, wait a minute so I can check here."
*Rustle... rustle...*
Seth waited as the store owner was grabbing some skill scrolls for him to choose from.
"Let's see here. For strong defensive skills, we have Guardian, Iron Wall, Stone Armor, Will of the Giant, and Unyielding. The Guardian and Iron Wall both provide strong shields but only the Guardian can be ascended to a higher-tier skill. As for the rest, they provide good status resistance but not so strong as initial protection against physical attacks."
(So they also have the Guardian skill here? Should I just get the Guardian skill again? Since I can ascend it to either Guardian EX or Warden of Life.)
Notice: The user has already good resistance. For high-burst unavoidable damage, having a thick shield to tank the damage would benefit the user more.
"I'll take the Guardian skill."
(I can't believe that I will be having that skill again, maybe I can use the Force Irregularity once more when I'm in trouble.)
Notice: The unique skill: Forced Irregularity is a one-time use skill. Although it is highly likely that the user cannot use it again even if the user sacrifices the Guardian skill, it is worth keeping note that it might be plausible to be used again.
"For high burst damage skills, we do have Mp Burst, Violent Conversion, Axel Blaze, Hyper Slash, and Reality Eclipse. These are all the highest damage skills I got here in my shop. Mp burst and Violent Conversion both take away your mana and turn it into a strong magical damage burst. The other is an area of effect while the other one is a focused attack. Axel blaze makes the user's attack follow up with a torrent of fire while Hyper Slash is a big chunky slash using wind and water magic. As for Reality Eclipse, the attack of the user travels through a sliced space making it a delayed attack that deals a huge amount of damage once it hits. It has a guaranteed hit rate that doesn't miss."
(First of all, isn't Reality Eclipse kind of broken? I don't know who learned that skill and put it into a skill scroll but he must be a pretty strong individual. I think that will fetch me a hefty price. Besides that, the only other thing that caught my eye is the Violent Conversion.)
Notice: Violent Conversion can be used as a detonate skill once your attack hits.
"I'll be taking Violent Conversion and Reality Eclipse."
"Nice choice, dear traveler. the Reality Eclipse had been sitting here in my shop for so long. I've had a few customers eyeing to buy it but they've yet to accumulate the money for it. You do have the money required for it, right?"
(Let's see here. I've got a lot of Sand Dragon and Dune Worm Essences as well as Crystal Orbs. If that is not enough, I'll throw in this mace of the Faceless(weapon) since I'm sure I won't be using this.)
"Do you accept raw crystal orbs and essences as payment?"
"It depends on the quality and amount of that stuff you have. These skills you chose are quite expensive."
"How about around a thousand essences of sand dragons and dune worms? I'll throw in around a hundred or so crystal orbs of the same kind."
"More than a hundred crystal orbs of Sand dragons and dune worms? Hmm... that would surely pay for the Reality Eclipse Skill scroll but I don't think the essences would be enough for the other skills."
Seth then brought out the crystal orbs and essences he have.
"You really do have all of them? Is that some kind of spatial bag of some sort you got there? I'm not even surprised that you have all of these if you can afford to buy something like that."
"Ahhh... something like that."
(So there really exist bags that have an unlimited amount of space in this world, huh? I thought my character inventory was special, turns out it's a normal thing.)
Seth then brought out the Mace of the Faceless (Weapon) and handed it to the shop owner.
"I'll throw this one as well if you give me another high-grade skill."
The shop owner looked at the weapon and was awed by the aura it emitted.
"This weapon... It is emitting such a strong dark aura. I can feel it."
"It cannot be wielded by just anyone. They have to be level 100."
"Okay, I accept your offer. What other high-grade skills do you want? As long as it's not as expensive as the Reality Eclipse Skill I'm fine with it."
Notice: how about getting a skill that strengthens resistance to mind control? Uriel remembered the time that the user had been controlled by the unique skill: Forced Bewilderment EX. Although it will be hard to resist such a skill, doubling up on resistance against such skills might be better than nothing.
(I see. The worst thing in combat is for you to not be able to fight at all.)
"Do you have some skills that can counter mind control skills of some sort?"
"Mind control you say? I believe we do have something like that. Let me see here."
The shop owner went in and grab another skill scroll.
"I believe this might be what you are looking for. Mental Sense. It helps the user combat mental attacks by having a clearer view of the user's mental state. Once you get past lvl 100, if you can- since I barely know anyone above level 100, I've been told that this skill can be ascended into Mental Sense EX which completely nullifies mental attacks."
(Uriel, does this apply to unique skills, I wonder?)
Notice: I do not have an answer to the question but it is worth it to have such a skill.
"Okay, I'll take that as well."
"Thank you. I see you might be traveling in preparation to venture into more dangerous places, huh? There has been a rumor going around as well that the Holy Kingdom had been annihilated. Maybe it surely is best to move out of this continent if that is the case."
"What do you mean by annihilated?"
"Well, it's only been a rumor so far but I'm sure that it is true. The guild has been keeping it a secret from the citizens but we know what's up. The nations of Iru and Zan had conquered the Holy Kingdom and refugees- or their so-called 'tourists' according to the elven guards, have been coming into the country lately for shelter and to find a new home."
(Wait... The Holy Kingdom? Isn't it where Lady Alice resides?)
Notice: It is highly likely that civilians have escaped when a nation is at war.
(I need to find them.)
Notice: Going back to the Holy Kingdom will not do the User any good. If by chance it had something to do with the two that the user encountered back in Mt' Feris, then it is best that we gather the necessary information first in the capital and get stronger before we try to go there.
"Thank you."
"Feel free to come again."
Seth left the sorcerer shop and booked a clay house inn to stay for a night. He then opened the skill scrolls and acquired them all.
"Tomorrow early morning, I'm heading directly to the Capital city."
