Chapter 18 - CHAPTER 18

Diamond wasn't planning on making things difficult for others or sticking to a price that would make others be reluctant to buy. The market was practically fair, and there were several people there who were already in the poultry business.

The price of a chicken was A$70, and this was the price for broilers. The price for the traditional chickens, also known as road-runners, was A$100, which was quite expensive when compared to the others.

But in consideration of how healthy her chickens were and the resources she spent on the farm; she wasn't going to charge the flat price but slightly increase a bit to show how unique her fowls were.

"It's just A$10 higher than the rest, A$80 per chicken," without batting her eyelashes, Diamond revealed the prices.

Janet would have gotten angry if it was someone else who quoted such a crazy price, but this was her boss and her chickens were just so damn good. She wouldn't care if it was quoted at A$100.

"Sure, I want some," the other happily agreed, and Diamond did her first transaction at that very moment.

Janet didn't want to let such an opportunity go, so she bought five chickens at one go so that she wouldn't regret it in the future. She had this inkling that people would be rushing for these chickens as soon as they got to know about them.

Diamond didn't forget to advertise her chickens to her neighbors. Her relationship with Cecilia was quite good, and she had the other's number, so it was easy for her to catch up with her.

Cecilia didn't really think much about Diamond's chickens, but for the sake of the Court's harmony and maintaining friendly relations, she decided to buy some. Money wasn't a problem, especially for people living in extraordinary courts like theirs.

So, at once, Cecilia bought ten chickens in one go and Diamond was very grateful for that. Cecilia promised to advertise to her circle of friends, especially since she had many girlfriends who didn't lack money.

As housewives, they spend their time doing a lot of good things at home and also playing around to get rid of the stress at home. So, there wasn't much for them to do but increase their circles of influence.

Diamond kept just five for herself since she can still get more when others reach maturity age.

Time quickly passed, and Monday arrived. This was an important day for Diamond. It was the first day for everyone at the foundation and, as the boss, she needed to be present as well.

Diamond wasn't planning on throwing everything at the staff, she was going to participate in it, and maybe in the future, she would leave here and there to manage some of her other businesses but the most important thing was for her to do good things and charity was the best way to go.

If she were to become greedy and forget the main reason why she was given the system in the first place, she would lose everything, and that wasn't something that she was willing to see.

Being at the bottom wasn't an experience that she wanted to go through again. She had enough of it and it was now her time to bask in the limelight.

For this very moment, Diamond had filled her closet with designer clothes; office wear as well and casual wear for any occasion and event.

She wore a chuckle grey suit; a skirt and a blazer, accompanied by a white blouse. A scarf was neatly tied around her neck, which brightened her persona. For shoes, she wore black heels that matched her handbag.

Diamond didn't want to come out as showy, so she didn't get her Angel XI from the garage and simply took her Arcadelle out.

The drive to the office building was over one hour since there was traffic, but she didn't arrive late as she was there before eight, which was the normal time for opening hours for most companies.

When she arrived, all ten employees she hired were already present, and this made her happy as this showed that they took their job seriously.

"I am glad that all of you are here. Please follow me inside!" Diamond smilingly said as her gaze scanned the ten people whom she found waiting outside the building.

There was also another reason why she was forced to go to the company. She was the one who had the key, so she had to go there even if she didn't want to.

She unlocked the door and led everyone inside the building.

"This whole building is mine and you will be working here from today going onwards, that is, if you are not doing fieldwork. Let me show you the floors that are available at the moment. The rest are still closed."

Diamond took them on a tour and showed them the two floors, including their offices.

She assigned the ten of them to their respective offices with the receptionist who happened to be a young and beautiful lady, fresh out of college, on her desk, which was on the ground floor.

The six offices were easy to handle, one of them was hers. The five offices were divided among the nine employees according to their respective professions.

The tech department, which consisted of one person, received its own office, and the counseling department had four employees. They also received their own separate office.

The accounting department, which happened to be a sensitive department, especially when charities were concerned, had three employees and lastly, the public relations department received one person, making them ten in total.

These people were still few, but she believed that in the future, everything would be well and that was enough.

After settling everyone and showing them their offices, she called everyone for a meeting. After all, she couldn't have everyone just sit without doing anything when there was so much that could be done. They were already behind time.

Everyone quickly gathered, and they were all anxious. Although they all knew their duties and what they would be doing in the future, they didn't know exactly when their work would start or even if anything had already been done.

After seeing everyone settled down, Diamond looked closely at these people. Some of them were already in the workforce for a long time and some were just fresh graduates, but this didn't matter.

As long as they all work towards that one goal, then all was well with her.
