The car suddenly appeared with a flash and she admired the car with sparkling eyes.
Just thinking of how her classmates would definitely have their faces slapped after seeing her, she was looking forward to it.
The good thing about Athary was that there wasn't any division when it came to cars or number plates. In some countries, if you bought your car in province A, if you drive it to province F, everyone would know that you came from province A.
But Athary was different. No one would know where you came from by just looking at your car.
Diamond didn't drive fast on the first try but got herself comfortable and used to the new beast before driving back to the city.
The Lotus Palace was a very tall building that could be seen from afar and just thinking of walking into that building with her head held high. She was simply very excited.
One hour later, Diamond's navy-blue Dentley which attracted a lot of people, could be seen stopping in front of the Lotus Place building.
A valet quickly rushed to the car and opened the door for Diamond. Diamond, who was wearing white three-quarter shorts and a pink t-shirt looked a bit out of place.
If she had just walked straight without driving that fancy car, even the valet would have looked down on her.
But after working at the Lotus Palace building for some time, the valet knew that the rich were very complicated, and judging the book by its cover would only hurt him in the end.
"Are you visiting or?" the valet asked politely.
This was a normal question as guests or visitors had their designated parking spaces while residents had their private ones.
Diamond had been waiting for this question from the very first day she received the title deed of the apartment.
In places like this, it was usually useless for an individual to just use words, especially when one was new. So she took out a familiar golden card that the valet and other staff who worked there knew very well.
He understood immediately that the person he just welcomed was a new tenant upon seeing the familiar card with an unfamiliar face he had never seen at the palace before.
"Welcome to Lotus Palace. I will park the car in your private space. Enjoy your stay," the valet was very polite as took over the car.
Diamond wasn't worried about coming across a thief. The security for Lotus Palace was simply too good. Besides, there was her greatest cheat, Andrea. As long as it was hers, Andrea was capable of searching for anything. Wherever that may be.
The second she took out her card, several people saw it and this included some tenants there. So it became clear that one of the tenants had finally arrived and all of them were curious about what this woman was and where she came from.
Lotus Palace had one hundred floors, with the penthouse that everyone wanted to own on the top floor. The building didn't have apartments but penthouses throughout, from the first floor to the one-hundredth one.
The higher the floor, the more expensive the penthouses were. Her system was so generous that it gave her a penthouse on the 96th floor.
1-10 floors–12 suites on each floor.
11-49 floors - 10 suites on each floor.
50-70 floors - 8 suites on each floor.
71-90 floors–6 suites on each floor.
91-95 floors–4 suites on each floor.
96-99 floors–2 suites on each floor.
100th floor–the extravagant penthouse.
The top penthouse just happened to be owned by the person who built the palace and she had seen this person on TV several times. He was a man in his sixties, and his family members usually used the penthouse.
Diamond walked into the building and was quickly welcomed by the staff. After all, it wasn't every day. They got to see the resident who lived on the upper floors and one who looked very simple and easygoing like her.
"Welcome!"
"Please, come this way!"
Diamond let herself be led to the reception desk, where she filled in a document that collected her information. And being helped by very enthusiastic people who seemed to be fawning and buttering up to her.
This was her first time coming to the place after owning the penthouse, so this process was required. There were several benefits of living in the palace and she couldn't wait to get all that.
"Do you want to meet other residents?"
"Let's do that another time. I have an important event I need to attend, so I may not have time. Besides, I won't be living here full time, but I wouldn't mind joining the group chat," Diamond softly responded.
"Sure, we will get you linked. If there is anything that you need, don't forget to give us a call."
Diamond nodded her head and made her way to the elevator. The building not only has penthouses throughout but there were also entertainment facilities in the building on some floors.
And out of the one hundred floors, only ninety-five had suites and the other five were all for entertainment.
Diamond wasn't in the mood to get to meet the so-called neighbors at that moment. She just wanted to check her penthouse and see how luxurious it was.
She wasn't one to show off a lot, so no one would know about this. She hadn't even shown off her Cherry Court villa to her circle of friends. So, unless she was forced to, she wasn't going to let anyone know.
There was too much traditional technology (witchcraft) and one wouldn't know how he or she died if one was careless.
The elevator she picked stopped by several times and on the way, she met the so-called neighbors and engaged in some short conversation.
She could see that they were curious about her, and she tried her best to give them useful information. After a while, the elevator finally stopped on the 96th floor, and she got out of the elevator.
She smiled as she looked at the spacious corridor that separates the two penthouses from each other.
Her penthouse was 9602 and, as for her neighbor, she didn't know who that was. The golden card was a key card of the penthouse and could be used to unlock and lock the door.
She used this to enter her penthouse, but she wasn't planning on making this her master key option. Human beings couldn't be trusted fully, and she didn't think that whoever created these cards didn't have spare ones.
Life was filled with scary people and she didn't want to be targeted by some greedy person for whatever reasons there may be.
"Andrea, scan the house and check if any external guests are lurking around!" Diamond ordered as she looked around.
Moments later, she received a reply that made her feel at ease, [there is none!]
"Perfect, change the codes. I don't want anyone to have access to my house," she instructed after hearing that.
[Which one do you want?]
"Just use the whole me as a criterion. Link to the house and only myself and the people that I will give access to will be allowed to enter and ...."
Diamond explained further what she wanted from Andrea with ease. She wasn't going to leave any chances for any villains at all.
