For the employees for the foundation; Diamond just wanted some kindhearted people that would empathize with whomever she would be helping at the time.
Of course, she didn't want her people to be greedy and end up embezzling the foundation's money or abusing their power to do something evil and nasty.
Diamond drove her Arcadelle to the employment agency, where the interview was going to take place.
She was welcomed warmly and seeing the room filled with potential employees, her heart was racing wildly.
Never had she thought that one day, she would be having her own employees and running her company.
To think that over three months ago, she was just an ordinary employee who was having it rough. Life was truly magical, and the feeling was quite thrilling.
The interview lasted for a couple of hours and the questions the candidates were asked practically shocked them. And due to their reactions, Diamond was able to pick the best people out of the batch.
Of course, she wasn't able to get all of them, but this didn't matter as she was confident that she would find all the people that she wanted.
Since Diamond had accepted her first batch of employees; she set a date with them where they could sit down and discuss further the employment terms.
During that period, the office renovations for the first two floors were also done, and she was amazed by the final outlook.
She then gave the company the job of renovating the underground floor, especially the freezer part. Her chickens were about to get slaughtered and she didn't dare become reckless.
As time was ticking, she had already decided to store the slaughtered chickens in her own home.
And sell these chickens to her neighbors and some good friends. And that was the only thing she could do, as the underground freezer wasn't yet ready.
The first two floors were done beautifully. The ground floor was to be used as a reception for the whole building. Diamond wasn't planning on leasing or renting out any floor or office of this building of hers.
The ground floor had a reception area but also had a waiting area for guests and visitors.
Each floor has its own restrooms but she couldn't have everyone use those as they would belong to the staff in the future.
On the first floor; there was a meeting room, six offices, a kitchen, and restrooms for both men and women.
All offices and the kitchens were furnished fully. The only thing remaining was to let the employees move in and get down to business.
With that issue solved; she communicated with Cain and gave the go-ahead for the slaughter of the chickens. She was going to pick them up from the farm when everything was done.
After that, she went to meet the candidates that she picked. And it was all about signing the contract and discussing the terms if it was necessary.
But since everyone knew that they were applying for a job in a charity foundation that barely makes any profit, they knew not to expect much. And with how jobs were hard to get, people barely had high requirements.
Diamond was offering a beautiful package that none of the people were willing to turn down. She managed to get everyone to sign the employment contracts and everyone was expected to come to work the following week since that week was already in the middle.
After doing that, she went to the farm. As she had already purchased some deep freezers before for that moment when she received those millions after selling the jade, she wasn't worried about the chickens going bad.
When she arrived at the farm, she found all the staff busy and the place reeked of chicken poo and blood. As she didn't have a truck, she was forced to purchase some huge buckets to put the chickens in to secure them for traveling.
"You are here, boss!" Cain exclaimed as soon as Diamond got out of the car.
Diamond waved excitedly at the employees and wanted to join them, but they politely rejected her. So, she was forced to go and check up on the chicks that were now grown up and looking all healthy.
The other animals were doing also okay, and she believed that if she wanted, she could sell some of them or slaughter a few for some meat, but that wouldn't do her any good. She was planning on expanding her ranch and the best way to do that was to leave the animals to reproduce and increase.
By the time she was done checking the farm's progress, including the healthy crops fluttering in the wind, the staff was done slaughtering all the chickens as well as de-feathering.
Diamond's first batch of chickens had one hundred chickens and only a few died, so most of the chickens survived and can now be eaten or sold for money.
Diamond wasn't that stingy, so she left some for the employees before taking the rest with her. She also took some eggs with her. Her off layers were doing pretty good, and the eggs were simply too much and needed to be dealt with.
She drove back to Cherry Court, where she received Aunt Janet's help to store the fat chickens in the deep freezer.
Janet was quite shocked by how huge these chickens were. They were much better than the ones she usually bought from her neighborhood. It was much better to buy broilers raised from home than to buy chicken cutlets from the shops.
To increase the weight of chickens or speedily increase the process, some people use unimaginable methods, and this makes it hard for some people to enjoy these kinds of meat.
"Miss, are you going to sell them?" Janet asked anxiously as her eyes greedily looked towards the kitchen where the freezers were.
Diamond chuckled upon hearing this, "Yes, I will be selling some of them and keep some at home. You want them?"
Janet smiled shyly upon hearing this and looked solemnly at Diamond, "Yes, I would like to buy some. How many do you want to buy?"
Since it was business, Diamond quickly got into the mood for business.
