Her bank account still had millions in it and this money was already enough to buy a good house for her family. She was going to buy a good house for them and let them live in luxury.
Diamond looked at the school and sighed. She didn't expect that it looked much worse than it did in the photos. She couldn't help but feel very grateful to her parents, who did as they could to provide her with the best that they could.
The mini-bus stopped at the parking lot and Diamond looked at the people who had come to welcome them.
The five of them got out of the minibus and shook hands warmly with the staff and the principal, who had waited for them.
"Thank you for welcoming us on such short notice," Diamond said gratefully and softly with a smile as she looked at the older man.
"Haha, the pleasure is all ours. We rarely receive a lot of guests this side," the man sighed helplessly as he thought of how bad things were for the school.
Diamond and the principal, who was called Mr. Thompson, exchanged some polite pleasantries before going to his office for a chat.
Diamond ended up being the only person joining Mr. Thompson for a chat in his office, as her people were busy looking around the school and taking some photos and videos.
This was still necessary, and they had a lot of things to do. Inside the office, Diamond talked to the principal for over an hour, and their conversation was solely pointed at the school, and through the man, she could understand the situation much clearer than before.
So many people needed help and Diamond was going to do her best to do something about this at whatever cost.
After a chat with the principal, she was taken to the hall where all the girls had been called and were sitting down. The school's total population was over three hundred, with girls only a third of the total.
Because of how remote the school was, the students were those kids who came from nearby and faraway villages. Boys fared much better; they were slightly more favored than girls so they could go to school without worries.
While girls would forfeit their rights to attend school to accommodate the boys in the family or go and get married and start their own families.
So, it wasn't surprising to see a few girls at school compared to boys.
Mr. Thompson stood in front of the girls who were aged from thirteen to eighteen years old with a smile on his face, "As you can see, guests from afar have graced us and they don't mean any harm. They are here today to provide some aid to all of you and don't worry, they don't seek anything from you."
The principal talked for a short while with the girls before leaving the floor to Diamond and her people. When Diamond stood in front of the girls, she couldn't help but smile brightly as she looked at them.
"Just like your principal said, we are here to provide some aid and we don't seek anything from you in return, so be at ease. Let's talk first about life and let's share some challenges that we face as girls. To ease your anxiety, I will talk about myself first."
Diamond didn't want the people that she helped to think that she had motives for doing so. She just wants to help but above all, she wants the people she is helping to accept this help willingly, without any shackles.
"I grew up in some town and my parents weren't wealthy, but they were and still are hard-working people. I wasn't that really bright when I grew up and didn't get brilliant results in school, but my parents were always there, which is my greatest blessing in life. My parents welcomed another child, my little sister and this sister of mine just happened to be brighter than me, but I don't really hate her or envy her. I love her so much."
"Anyway, today is not about this, but about other things. So, I will fast forward my story, and let's talk about some points that happened when I was old enough. There is always this pressure that pushes us every single day as females. Society expects us to get married when we reach the marriageable age, have babies, become mothers, and serve our husbands and children like our life depends on it."
"Because of this, sometimes we end up taking routes that will doom us if we continue being pressurized. I was also pressured and made some bad choices that made me become an outcast and I nearly gave up at some point, but luckily, I had people who backed me up. I knew that they were there, so I wasn't that really worried."
"Sometimes we lack those people who we can confide truthfully in and we are here to help with that. These ladies and gentlemen you see here can solve your worries and all you need to do is ....."
Diamond could see some fear, anxiety, and confusion in some of the girls' eyes and she hoped sincerely that their problems would be solved at some point. It will take some time, but they were all patient people.
After the long speech, Diamond and her staff began to distribute the packages that had been carried out of the minibus a long time ago. As this was the first visit, they brought only essentials like sanitary pads, toiletries, and some food.
Of course, there was a lot to be done in the future, but for now, that was it. As they hadn't prepared to sleep overnight, Diamond and her crew didn't stay for long and left when it was around three in the afternoon.
The counselors didn't manage to help anyone as all the girls weren't willing to talk, but they still preached some sense into them for a while before they left.
Which was the greatest thing they did for these girls on that day.
