Chapter 34 - Naheed's Letter

Gungo had never been so upset in his life.

He was standing with his head bowed.

Jairam came forward and placed his hand on her shoulder.

Gungo!

If you sincerely want to free Zubair and his companions, then leave the matter to me for a few days.

I hope the King (Raja), aware of the real dangers, will not dare to keep them in prison, and if he does not listen to me,I will come to you,and then we will think of some other plan.

But where is Khalid's sister?

Gungo replied.

She is also with us.

She was injured on the plane.

How is she now?

Khalid said in response to this question.

Now she is better than ever but the wound is still not fully healed.

I am grateful to Maya Devi.

She has taken great pains in her treatment."

Gungo said,

Jairam!

If Pratap rai has returned the ships on the order of the King ( Raja).

So I'm not sure he'll be ready to release the prisoners.

I think he will try to get this news out of Sindh. There are prisons in Brahmanabad from which people come out only in case of death.

It is necessary to reach.

If his government interfered, the King (Raja) would certainly release the prisoners.

Jairam said,

If Khalid wants to go, I will take responsibility to get him across the border.

Gungo replied.I can also take Khalid across the border, but until his sister is well, it is not possible for him to go.

Also, Arab armies are currently fighting in Turkistan and Africa.

It is possible that they would not like to mess with Sindh in view of the shortage of soldiers.

Khalid believes that if Zubair is somehow released, this campaign will be very easy for him. He knows every influential man in Basra and Damascus.

Jairam said.If you want it,I promise you that I will try to get Zubair out of prison even at the risk of my life.

Maya said.

Wow!

You can do everything.

Try to free Zubair.

Maya, this is my duty without your recommendation.

Jairam says to Gungo,

Now, if you allow me, I would like to ask Maya a few things.

Following Gungo's signal, his companions slipped away.

Gungo turned aside and said to Khalid,

"You go to Naheed."

And if she wants to send a message to the prisoners, ask.

When Khalid entered, Naheed was standing behind the door.

He said, you feel a little hungry. So you start walking, you should lie down on the bed.

Naheed did without paying attention to his words.

You have been very harsh on poor Jairam.

Now what have you decided about Maya?

Khalid replied. No decision has been taken yet regarding Maya. Those siblings are talking to each other.

She will probably go with him.

Jairam has promised to release Zubair from prison.

As soon as he is released, he will reach Basra via Makran and narrate our history.

There is no other way for women and children to be released except that our government intervenes in this matter.

Naheed said,I have heard these things, but I am afraid that just like in the case of father, the Sindh government avoided the Governor of Makran.

Similarly, this matter will also be disposed of. I have heard that the ruler of Basra is very oppressive, but he has a reasonable reason not to be attracted to Sindh, that all Arab forces are fighting each other in Asia and Africa.

Khalid was worried and said,

"My sister, I don't understand anything."

But I am not disappointed with God's mercy. He will surely help us.

Naheed said.

I have thought of a suggestion.I am writing a letter to the ruler of Basra, if Jairam can release Zubair, then tell him to hand over this letter to him.

If by default my letter could not affect the ruler of Basra, then the people of Basra will definitely be affected by it.

I have seen Muslims in my dream breaking the doors of the prison,

I am sure that my dream is true.

Khalid says,

"Then you go inside and write a letter."

Give me something thing. Then,I start to write a letter.

Yes!

Take my handkerchief.

Khalid put his hand in his pocket and gave a handkerchief to Naheed and said while turning back.

I have been stopping Jairam for so long to write you a letter.

Naheed thinks and then write these words.

"I am sure that the governor of Basra would have ordered the brave soldiers of his army to put saddles on the horses after hearing the plight of the Muslim children and women from the mouth of the messenger, and there will be no need to show this letter to the messenger." If Hajjaj ibn Yusuf's blood has frozen, then my speech may prove futile.I am the daughter of Abul Hasan. My brother and I are still safe from the enemy's reach. But our comrades are in the captivity of an enemy whose heart has no place for mercy.Imagine this dark view of the prison. In which the ears of the captives are restless to hear the hoofs of the solider (Mujahid) of Islam.

It was a miracle that my brother and I survived the captivity of the enemy.

But our search continues and we too may be thrown into a dark cell.

It is possible that my wound will put me to the sleep of death before that and I will be saved from a terrible end, but when I die I will regret that those fast horses whose riders are knocking at the doors of Turkistan and Africa.

They could not reach the help of the orphans and helpless children of his nation.

Is it possible that the sword that fell on the head of the proud crown princes of Rome and Iran as lightning?

It will prove blunt in front of the proud king of Sindh.I am not afraid of death.

Oh pilgrims!

If you are alive, reach out to help the orphans and widows of your brave nation!!

Naheed,

Helpless daughter of a nation!

Outside Maya was narrating the incident to her brother, Jairam asked at the end.

Maya?

You are not in any kind of pain here?

Maya said,

No!!

She replied,

Gungo considers me as his daughter, Naheed considers me as her younger sister.

Jairam said, Maya!

I want to tell you a very bad news.

Maya asked nervously.

" What ?"

The thing is, I can't take you with me right now. . . I blamed Pratap Rai for your disappearance.

But when he started torturing Zubair and Ali, I had to admit that you were not with me to save their lives.

Now, if I take you with me,I will be forced to tell the address of Naheed and Khalid.

I personally don't fear King ( Raja)'s strictness but Pratap Rai will get suspicious and start looking for Naheed and Khalid.

I don't want them to suspect that Khalid and Naheed are hiding after seeing you.

If you stay here for a few more days,Pratap Rai will probably go back to Dabil for three or four days.

After that I will take you from here.

Maya replied with satisfaction,

"Brother don't worry about me, I will be happy to stay here till Naheed is well.Because, she is just like a sister to me.

I wouldn't even like to leave her."

Gungo and Khalid were talking to each other at some distance.

Jairam attracted them by calling out to him and then beckoned them to him.

When they came near,

He said,

"Don't you ever suspect that I am plotting something."

Maya says she wants to stay here till Naheed recovers and I also want to leave her here for some reasons,I will take her for few days.It is possible that I also have to escape with Zubair and I will be with you forever. Now it is possible that King (Raja) will call us for a meeting as soon as he reaches the city.

It is not right for me to be absent.

Khalid said,

You sit down.

Naheed is writing a letter.

You hand over this letter to Zubair after freeing him.

So bring that letter quickly and I'm too late. They must have reached near Brahmanabad, Gungo said, so don't worry, we will reach Brahmanabad by an easy route before them.

Jairam said,

I want to take only one of your companions with me, but it is important that no one recognizes him in Brahmanabad.

If any critical moment comes, I will send him to report to you,

Gungo said, you take Vasu.

By noon Jairam was crossing the forest under the guidance of Vasu.
