Chapter 24 - Palace of Partap Rai

Zubair and Ali were tied to two coconut trees in the left garden of Pratap Rai's palace. Pratap Rai, a few of his soldiers and two executioners were standing near him with whips in their hands. Ali and Zubair's stooped bodies and the marks of blows on their bare chests showed that they had been subjected to unbearable physical torture. A soldier reported Jairam's arrival, and on Pratap Rai's signal, the executioners began to flog Zubair and Ali.

Zubair stood like a rock, but Ali's stamina had responded and screams came out of his mouth with every stroke of the whip.

As soon as he stepped outside the door, Ali's screams caught Jairam's attention and he ran and pushed the two guards back one after the other and turned to Pratap Rai and said. This is cruelty.

This is a sin.

You promised me that you have left their decision to the King (Raja) ... replied Pratap Rai pointing to Ali, this boy the soldiers have searched for in the city.

It turns out that he disappeared from the ship with your sister, and the rest of his companions are hiding somewhere around the city.

Jairam went ahead and asked Ali,

Where were you ?

Where is my sister?

Ali looked at Jairam, and then bowed his head.

Jairam said,

If you know anything about Maya Devi, then tell me. I can save you.

Ali raised his neck again and started shouting.

I don't know

I tell the truth,

I don't know about them.

I looked for them before jumping from the ship but,

I don't know how they disappeared.

Jairam asked,

"How did you get to town?"

I jumped overboard and hid in a boat by the sea.

Today I reached the city and the soldiers caught me and brought me here.

You are all cruel.

I did not do anything .

Jairam looked at me but overwhelmed with emotions of surprise, anger, regret and regret he could not find suitable words to address him.His eyes rose once and narrowed.

The lips trembled and pressed together. He turned to Pratap Rai and said,

"Leave them."

I have no doubt about them.

Pratap Rai said.

How can I leave them?

If your sister was on board, she would surely know.

Where is she ?

You may by now think me guilty, and I consider it my duty to assure you in the language of these men that your sister was hid by these men, and if she was not alive, they threw her into the sea before they attacked the ship.

Now either they will have to admit their guilt or you will have to accept that your sister was not on the ship and that you found this excuse to deceive me.

Pratap Rai then pointed to the executioners,

Zubair and Ali were again lashed.

Jairam shouted,

Hold on!

These are innocent!

"This is cruelty."

Leave them alone.

But his cries proved ineffective.

He went forward and punched one of the executioners in the face, but at Pratap Rai's signal a few soldiers caught him and pulled him back.He was struggling to free himself from the grip of the soldiers, and instead of screaming, Ali was moaning slowly in a semi-conscious state.

Zubair used to look at Jairam and close his eyes after the whipping.

Ali's moans stopped and Zubair's strength to lift his neck and open his eyes also responded.

Pratap Rai ordered a soldier to bring a hot iron.

Jairam shouted!!!!!

Pratap, you are cruel, you are a bastard.

Give me the punishment,

I want to give but have mercy on them.

Pratap Rai roared,

I don't care about your bullshit.

I will leave that decision to the King(Raja),

but at this moment his life is in my possession.

I will put out their eyes.

I will scratch their plants.

It is impossible that she is alive and you go to King (Raja) and blame me for your sister's abduction.

If your sister is missing from the ship,

I will definitely find her.

If only I didn't have to treat all these children and women like this.

The soldier handed the iron rod to Pratap Rai and he proceeded towards Zubair.

Jairam said loudly.

No!

No!!!

Wait!

My sister was not on the plane.

I came alone.

I just wanted to save their lives.

Pratap Rai replied,

"But why should I believe that you will not incite King(Raja) against me by narrating such stories in front of him?"

Pratap,I promise a Rajput promise trust me.

"You will also have to testify that none of the girls went missing from the ship.

"And if you let them go, I am ready to make this promise."

It is the king's job not to let them go.

I can only promise that no harshness will be done to them in the future. You will also have to admit this in front of the king.

"That you pressured me with the intention of rescuing these people and made your sister a pretext".

Jairam replied in defeat.

"I am ready for that too."

Pratap Rai threw the iron rod and said,

"You have disturbed me so much."
