The night soon passed and early enough that morning, Harvey was up, he took a cold bath as he had to be early for work. Queen woke up too, she was surprised seeing Harvey hurriedly taking his bath. "What is he up to?" She said surprisingly. Soon he was out of the bath room, he had his pant and inner wear put on, he took his trousers which were hanged on the other corner of the chair and wore it, his green shirt wasn't far from his shoes, he equally put them on. And for a while he looked at Queen, he did not know how to tell her he was going out, he did not even know In which words to put them. "Hey, I guess you slept well. Right now I'm on my way out to the office, I'll send my driver soon so he can escort you home okay." He said looking straight into her eyes.
"Oh really? We got married and you've resumed work already, is that done?" She said while dangerously looking at him.
"You don't have to stare at me that way okay, we both know our marriage was arranged. And I got married only for business purposes it's not suppose to border you, okay so see you soon." Harvey mentioned. He did not really want to talk to her that way, but he had nothing to gang himself with, so he decided to use the arranged marriage as way for him to get out.
"Last I checked, we tried being a real couple, wasn't that? Well I don't even know why I'm here forcing out things, please you can go to work, and make sure you take all you time. Good day." She said while turning her head and facing the walls. She was done with the conversation.
Harvey equally left the room that moment, he had already explained to her he needed to get to work, so there was no need begging. His driver was downstairs waiting for him, immediately he got down, he drove him to the company. It was two days since he lastly stepped his foots into the company because he had been preparing for his marriage. From the other side of the building, his footsteps could be overheard, "isn't that the boss?" They all asked themselves, they had not seen his car arrive but they manage to know it was his footsteps. They all quickly took their right positions and was waiting for him to step in so they could address him. He made his entry and some were surprised seeing him, but they were all calm. They only talked about it when he had resumed to his office. "Oh my god, the boss came working today whereas he got married just yesterday, this is strange."
"What's strange there? He is a business man and as such he needs to resume to work, have you forgotten the company is on its point of signing a big contract? Do you expect him to seat home because he just got married?" One of the staff's added.
"To me. He will have taken some off days, it's not only about work, sometimes you need to relax with your family and have a nice time."
"If you must know, it's about work. Now this conversation is done, get back to your post immediately." He added.
It was soon 2 PM, Harvey called his driver out and asked him to go get his wife and drive her home. "Okay Sir, consider that done." He said before leaving for the hotel. One thing Harvey loves about his driver was that, he was very effective and was present each time he needed him. He was the only one reliable, the others have been a threat to his flesh. He was not bothered about Queen because he knew she was in save hands.
The driver arrived and soon passed out information to Queen while standing outside, he had no intentions of entering into her room. She told him she heard and would prepare and meet him down. The driver went downstairs and was patiently waiting for her. Soon, she joined him and the left for the house. When they arrived home, Geraldine was in the grasslands while watching Harvey's car move into the premises, she had no idea Queen was the only one in the car. She watched her stepped out of the car and watched the driver park the car. "What's going on? Why is she the only one home? Where's Harvey?" She posed herself those questions. Just when Queen was approaching her, she felt nervous. Though she did not know who Queen was, she had judged her without giving her a chance. "Good morning madame , you must be ...."
"Geraldine." She said. Before Queen could finish speaking out, she stopped her.
"Oh I see, you are very beautiful. Harvey told me much about you last night, saw you in the hall and had no idea you were the one." Queen said politely.
"You are tired, so I will quickly demand to make you something to eat, once again you are welcome to your new home." Geraldine said coldly.
While Geraldine and Queen were having a conversation, Bernard was on his way to the garden when he met them discussing, he was amazed seeing Queen home. "Oh you are back, I can see you've met Geraldine already." Bernand mentioned.
"Yes Sir, good morning I arrived a few minutes ago."
"And where's Harvey, he seemed not to be around,"
"Yes. He left earlier for work." Queen said calmly
"Did I hear you say work? What would he be doing at work when he just recently got married? He has to be home with you. In fact I'll get my phone and call him now." Bernand said angrily
"Oh no dad. Please don't do such. He told me he had important things to do at work and they could not wait so please don't call him." Queen said politely.
It was 4 PM, and Harvey was now done with work. He had an appointment with his business associate but it was cancelled as his business associate reported to the hospital, his wife had an accident and he needed to be there with her at that crucial moment. Harvey understood and wished his wife a speed recovery. All done, he decided to get home, he had no business with the hotel anymore as Queen was no longer there. In 30 minutes time he arrived home, Geraldine had made his favorite meal, he could not take his bath before having that, he preferred eating first. Queen had being in the room all this while and wouldn't step an inch out of it. She was still trying to adapt to her new life.
While at table, Harvey had a conversation with his dad. He wasn't happy concerning the attitude he portrayed early enough. "Dad you know more than anyone that I'm a business man and I need to work hard so my business can flourish." Harvey said politely.
"Harvey don't take me for a fool okay, you have workers who can do that, you got to work because you did not want to be close to that young girl, you told her you had something very important to resolve, and I know it all lies. Listen to me carefully, that girl is now your wife and you should take good care of her." Bernand mentioned.
This left Harvey speechless. "Wow, Queen triés covering up for me?" He mumbled to himself. He did not tell Queen he had something important to do before he left, he just told her he was going for work. Happy about her reaction he wanted to pay her back in return, he thought of his father's words. "I guess I'll take my wife out to spend some quality time." He said. Ever since he came back, he had not laid eyes on her, she was in room while he was in the living room. He quickly left what he was doing and resumed to his room, there Queen was lying on the bed reading a magazine. "Hello beautiful." He said.
"Hello, you are back already. So how was work , I hope fine." She demanded.
"Yeah, it went on well until i received the message of my associate wife who had an accident."
"Oh sorry about that." She said.
Harvey went straight to the point and asked her to change into something nice so they could go out. She did not understand why Harvey wanted them to go out but she had no choice, she quickly changed into something nice and walked out of the room with him. While they were on their way out, Bernand was in the living room and had been observing them, he was happy his son had been putting his words into practice. "So where are you taking me to?" Queen asked.
"It's a surprise, I promise it's something nice, you are going to love the area." He said with a smile on his face. They soon arrived their destination, it was a luxury restaurant. On their way in, they came across Bob and Sarah. "Look at who we have here, Harvey and Queen." Sarah said as she had been looking at them.
"Sarah, nice seeing you. I hope you are fine?" He asked politely.
"Of course I'm fine, don't you see it? I can see you two are equally doing fine." Sarah said.
"Sure, we came out to have some fun."
"Same here, I'm equally having fun with my boyfriend as you can see."
"That's great, see you soon." Harvey mentioned. He did not want to stay long around her, so he asked to change the area. "Why do you want us to change our location? Don't tell me it's because you saw Sarah, are you still in love with her?" Queen asked calmly.
"In love did you say? I have never been in love with her, just don't want to be in her company that's all. So can we now change the restaurant?" He said politely. Queen had to follow him to another restaurant, she did not want to create a scene.
The day was wasted for her, seeing Sarah was not what she wanted but it was as if she had been betraying her, she was the one who was to get married to Harvey and not her, but at the end of the day she succeeded in comforting herself. "Hey girl why are you even bothered, she was the one who rejected his proposal you just came in as a replacement so you shouldn't feel as if you betrayed her cause that wasn't the case so chill." She mumbled to herself. After a few hours, Harvey asked them to go back home.
They arrived home and she immediately got to bed, she did not want to talk about anything. "Do you want us to talk?" Harvey asked.
"I'm not sure, I feel like sleeping, may be tomorrow." She said.
"I'll appreciate if we can talk right now, I think you are getting things twisted."
"I'm not. Good night." She said.
Geraldine had been behind their window and heard Queen yelling, "why would she yell at my boy?" She said coldly. Though she could not go ahead and ask what was going on, she had been keeping it in her heart. Emily the second maid soon joined her and asked why she had been keeping a dark face.
It was no news that Geraldine always kept a smiling face, each time Emily saw her behaving in such a manner she knew someone had wronged her, she had to find out what happened.
"I'm angry at Queen, she shouldn't yell out at Harvey."
"May be he did something bad and she's like correcting him."
"She should do that without raising her voice." She said nervously, she hated the fact Harvey got married to Queen rather than Sarah, she had visited them three times and she pretended she was the kind of woman Harvey needed. But she had no idea Queen was actually the kind of woman Harvey needed in his life.
