Chapter 23 - A new Daisy

"I'm truly sorry Daisy... I didn't mean to take advantage of you just like... "

She interrupted what he was about to say by kissing him back with a much more ferocity and intense desire.

"I just... " She started, suddenly feeling shy at the situation. " I just realized, Jake, that I'm in love with you, even though you might call it infatuation. I just know it in my heart that I'm in love with the idea of being in love with you, Jacob Harrison"

Jake held her hand tenderly. "I love you too Dee, but there's something I just realized and I need to let you know before we begin this new phase in our relationship."

He needed to tell her who he really was, but Daisy was so head over heels in love with him, that she just kept on kissing him and nibbling on his neck every chance she got.

"You can tell me whatever you want to yell me later, just not now. Let us enjoy this limited special moment together. "

"No Daisy. You really should... "

Before he could finish his statement, the bell rang for the next period.

"So I'll see you at the close of the day" Jake said to her.

"Yeah, bye" She replied sadly. She was unhappy that they didn't spend enough time together.

He hugged her tight and ruffled her hair "I love you buttercup"

She smiled up at him as the excitement reached her heart. She knew that she was going to treasure this moment for the rest of her life.

When she went back to class she couldn't concentrate on anything that was being taught in the class. Her mind was just focused on Jake!! HER BOYFRIEND.

It felt strange - a beautiful kind of strange - to call him her boyfriend.

"Hey sis. You've been standing here for the past ten minutes. Is everything okay? " Her brother asked suspiciously.

Daisy looked up at her brother strangely. She had always thought that Danny was the most handsome boy she had ever come across, until she'd met Jake.

She tried comparing the both of the. They were so much different. Danny was brown haired, just like herself, but Jake had short black curly hair. Jake has eyes that screamed COMMITMENT, unlike Danny that was the playboy type. Since the past year, he'd had at least ten girlfriends, but...

"Daisy!!! " Danny screamed in her face.

She blinked and looked at him "Why are you screaming in my face? I'm fine"

"No you're not. Well, mum is waiting to pick us up outside. " He stated coolly.

"Well, tell mum I'm busy. I'll find my own way back home. "

"Daisy, are you insane? "

"Excuse me??!! " She hissed at him. "Who do you think you are? My babysitter? My nanny? I've told you, I'm not coming home until later, and you can't dictate my decisions for me"

She replied and began walking in the direction of Jake's biology classroom, when Danny dragged her hand.

"Will you let go of me? You're causing a scene"

She tried to yank her hand away but to no avail. Danny was stronger than her, perhaps the strongest person she'd ever seen. But then, there was a loud commotion and the next minute, Danny was on the floor and...

Jake was holding her.

"No one messes with my girl. Not you. No one" Jake said furiously to Danny and pulled Daisy outside. He didn't stop until they were out of the school premises.

"I'm so sorry, Buttercup. Did he hurt you? "

"No no. I'm fine. " Daisy smiled. "Just that Danny has never been challenged before."

Jake laughed. A deep throaty laugh that caused excitement in Daisy's heart. She never knew that a person's laugh could be this sexy.

"Well, there's a first time for everything, Isn't there? He's lucky I'm in a good mood today. I'd have hit him so hard that he'd have spent a month in the hospital. "

Daisy feigned hurt. "He's still my brother"

"Oh, I totally forgot. " Jake smiled fondly at her. "But how come he's such an asshole and you're a lovely person. I mean... You guys are twins and all - but yet you're so different."

Daisy laughed as they went to his house together.

"Hey dad. I'm home" Jake greeted his dad who was seriously busy with his laptop.

"Hi son. " Jason Harrison said, without even looking up.

"Dad, is everything okay? " Jake asked worriedly.

That was when his father looked up.

"Hey Daisy. You came today. " He smiled and then looked at his son. "I'm having a legal battle - a tough one - that i can't afford to lose in three days time, so, you guys can go upstairs or whatever. Make yourself comfortable or not"

Jake looked at his father. "Are you sure you're fine, dad? Do you want me to do anything for you? "

"No no no. I'm fine" His father said.

Jake went upstairs with Daisy. He noticed her staring everywhere around his bedroom. He knew his room was posh and wonderfully designed.

"Your bedroom is so beautiful. I mean it's so nice having your own private library in your bedroom." She looked dreamily at the stack of books in the shelf.

"Yeah. The bad part is i can't sneak out with the excuse if going to the library to study. "

Daisy laughed.

His bedroom had a state of the art television, a very large bed that was good for....

She smiled as she realized where her mind was leading her to. She looked up at him and he was smiling too, as if he knew what she was thinking about. She hoped he wasn't a mind reader.

She looked at the mural paintings too, on the walls.

"Have a seat, Dee. What can i get you? Water? Soda? Lime? " Jake asked.

"Nothing. I'm fine. Besides, I'm not a stranger. You should get used to having me in your home. I'm your girlfriend, right? " She said absentmindedly.

"Oh hell yeah. I am your boyfriend" He grinned. "We need to seal it and make it official" He smirked.

"With what? " Daisy smiled. She was totally enjoying the show.

"A bottle of champagne and... " He leaned closer to her. "A kiss. "

Before Daisy could respond, he had captured her lips with his. Her hands went up to his hair instinctively. His tongue explored her lips as he nudged her to open her mouth. She did and as their tongues explored, she couldn't breathe.

What was it about Jake that left her wanting more?

If a little kiss like this could ignite intense passion and raw desire, she wondered how lovemaking between them would be.

She then pulled back slowly. He held her cheeks, with his eyes closed. He savored the moment and then finally let her go.

"Let's have the wine now. " She said, trying not to pant too much for breath.

"Yeah. Wine first and then make - out session later. " He winked at her.

She raised her eyebrows.

"What?" He asked. "You're so sweet buttercup. I'm not satisfied with just a kiss. I want more"

"Oh my God Jake!!!! You didn't just say all that!!!! " She laughed in excitement.

Danny came out of his bedroom after three hours of facetiming all his girlfriends and some of his baseball buddies. His father was still at the dining table, typing on his laptop, with his face set with indignation and determination.

He looked round.

"Jeez dad. Daisy isn't back yet?"

"I don't know" His father replied without looking up from his laptop.

Danny took a seat on one of the settees.

"Dad, is everything alright? With work? I noticed you've been off these past few days. "

"Everything is alright. It's just this case that's been bugging me. This is the third time it has been adjourned; something that has never happened in all my seventeen years at the Bar and I can't afford to lose it. "

"Wow dad, I thought you were the best lawyer in the whole of Los Angeles."

"Well, I was..." His father shut down the laptop.

"Until Jason Harrison became my opponent. He wants to take my position. But I'm not going to let that happen. "

"I trust you dad. " Danny said.

"Thanks son. By the way, where did you say your sister went to?" Jerry asked.

Before Danny could respond, Daisy walked in, with her phone in her ear, clearly on a phone conversation.

She was grinning and laughing loudly. Jerry was surprised because he'd never sent his daughter in this over excited state before.

"Daisy, where are you coming from? "He asked.

"Oh hi dad. " She said and ended the call. "I was with a friend of mine. He was helping me with calculus. Honestly i don't know why they're making us study that subject in school. I know how to add and subtract, which is basically the same thing that's been done in calculus, although it's on a more formal level. Besides, why does an artist need to study calculus? "

"Will you just stop all these blabbing and shut up your mouth Daisy??!! No daughter of mine!! I repeat, No daughter of mine is going to be an artist. You know what, Dee, you're free to study any course you like and pursue any other degree but not as an artist." Her father said.

Daisy shrugged. "Daddy that reminds me. I'm having an art exhibition tomorrow at the white plaza. It's going to be in a fundraiser for our school and it's going to.... "

"Daisy!! Shut up!! " Her father shouted angrily and stood up. "You're not going to be an artist. Not why I'm alive "

"Then you die!!!!! " Daisy shouted back. "Because whether you support me or not I'm going to the fundraisers tomorrow. I'll ask mum. She'd go with me " Daisy said with an air of finality and marched up to her mum's bedroom.
