Hiding in the shadows, the family approached the orc camp stealthily while killing some goblin scouts.
Soon the orcs discovered them by their scent, and the fight began.
Large hordes of goblins surrounded them as they fought the orcs.
Viktor charged together with his father to quickly kill one of the orcs accompanying the champion.
His father nimbly attacked the orc champion's leg, while Viktor activated his [Strengthening] ability.
Then, activating [Body Strengthening] on his arm, he attacked this strong orc with his ax.
Unfortunately he had not yet learned to strengthen his weapon in mana, which he believed was obviously possible.
But his new attack was enough to severely injure the orc, trapping it unawares.
Lucia's fireballs now seemed as frequent as drops of water in a rain. At least, that's how her fire seemed to the goblins against her.
She and her family had also learned mana control and their improvement resulted in everyone gaining the mana prodigy achievement and gaining in turn a reduction of mana cost in their skills.
Two groups were formed, one with Viktor and his father and one with Emma and her daughter.
Viktor and his father were in charge of taking out the orcs, while Emma and Lucia took care of the goblins. But these were only temporary roles, as they didn't forget to support each other.
Emma did sometimes cast a spell to cover her son, and Akiba killed some goblins to help his wife and daughter.
Lucia and Viktor focused on doing what damage they had to do and holding their opponent in front of them as much as they had to.
Lucia once threw a fireball at the orc champion, and after taking the orc champion's life following an arduous battle, Viktor was finally able to help his family a little with the remaining goblins.

August 22, 2033(Afternoon)
Viktor was exhausted lying in the room of an abandoned building, thinking about his next plans.
'I guess we should go home...'Without many better ideas Viktor calmly pondered.
Although he was furious about what happened, he knew that going back there wouldn't be synonymous with carrying out his revenge, and he didn't want to obsess over it either.
Besides, it had to be said...killing orcs was a good exercise in anger management.
But a change of plan knocked at his door (or rather head).
[System(Personal):
-Message:
Sender:Marcus Odxon.
We need...reinforcements, an emergency situation occurred at the police station, special forces are on their way, but they will take time to arrive..."
Can I call you?!
Viktor simply replied with a brief "yes".
Marcus had not been added as a favorite user in Viktor's personal system, therefore, he could not call Viktor from emergencies.
The call came in quickly:
"Hey...Not much time to talk, I'll be frank; there's a level 25 monster that attacked our base, along with its army, a golem to be precise." Marcus' voice sounded bitter and sad.
"I'm not going anywhere near a level 25. "Viktor clarified coldly.
"I'm not asking for that!"
"We need to save the civilians from the army. Golems aren't usually a lot in numbers, but their lowest level is 4, and normal people won't be able to stop them."
"Heck...Even some normal soldiers can't stop them for sure."(Marcus)
"But the special forces will come, just...If it's possible..."
"I'd like you to help us rescue the civilians..."(Marcus)
"Being honest, my father will lead the retreat strategy, and safety of the civilians, and I am the one in charge of the areas closer to the building where you are."(Marcus)
"But my group and I are among the few who can truly deal with average golems, and we have too much to cover."
"If something happens, civilians will be exposed."
"I'm not going to ask you to risk yourself or your family."
"If you can help the retreat strategy, until special forces arrive, I'll make sure it's worth the risk."
"I'm not going to lie, it's risky, but the level 25 golem and stone golems are being carefully suppressed by our elites."
"The biggest threat you might encounter if you stay out of the fighting zone, is a nascent stone golem, at most level 15."
"And that would be extremely rare and an oversight on the part of our elites, which, almost certainly won't happen."
Marcus' long monologue went on, pleading for Viktor's help, while Viktor silently thought:
'Shit, a level 25 moving an army...That's dangerous'.
'I know that there are actually even people who have reached level 40, being extremely capable, and supported by a world power, and there are also monsters of near strength, but...'
'A level 25 is not something I can even handle...I can't even rely 100% on the military either.'
'But...I owe it to him, and he sounds genuinely concerned, he seems genuinely looking out for the safety of the people, and that...Is something to admire in this chaos.'
'I don't think a person like that would lie to me to put me at high risk...'
'A level 15 would also be lethal but...If it's a golem...Aren't they supposed to be slow and tough? We could run away from that if we see it coming.'
