Luckily for Viktor's family, Melissa and her family did not attack them.
Melissa even wanted to help Viktor, and John's group stopped them. She determinedly attacked the man who stood in front of her.
She stabbed her knife into the man's neck, but her father stopped her.
"Let's go!" Said Hector, Melissa's father.
"We must flee, there are too many of them," Hector said with a determined look, pulling his daughter's arm.
Viktor at that moment was in front of his family fighting, he immediately shouted while they were covered by the barrier:
"Let's move back to the parking area."
They tried to retreat while defending and attacking.
John was already severely wounded, and he seeing them retreating shouted:
"Don't let them escape!!!"
Viktor and his family still managed to get outside the building, into the parking lot.
This was obviously empty...
Besides the living corpses that were accumulating there. Nor a car was visible, not only here, but in the whole world.
It was exhausting to defend and attack, but they succeeded.
Viktor had even cut off the head of one of Benjamin's family members.
Which for him was satisfying, having managed to kill those dirty traitors.
"Don't let them run away!" shouted the injured John.
"IF YOU KILL THEM, 40% OF THE SCOINS IS YOURS!!!".
Soon, even the other groups in the supermarket were attracted and some began to attack.
The zombies and other monsters were obstructing all the humans and trying to take advantage of the situation.
Since the attention of the humans was mainly on Viktor's family, Melissa's family managed to reach the exit of the place.
Melissa only followed them when her father mentioned her siblings...
What could her dear, cute little brothers do in the apocalypse if her family died here?
" Idiots!!!"(John).
"There went a group!" shouted John, angrily.
" YOU THINK THE SCOINS ARE FREE?!!!! that you can live without working?!!!!! NOOOOO!!!
He shouted madly.
"KILL THEM!!!" He shouted as he pointed at Viktor's family, who were running towards the zombies and other monsters.
They used the monsters as meat shields.
They even made noise on purpose so that they would pile up and the other humans would not reach them.
They did this because compared to humans, zombies; even if there are many of them, they are easy to avoid.
From the shadows, Jessie's figure appeared running towards Viktor, aiming to kill.
She managed to pierce the side of his neck, thus delivering a blow that seemed lethal or at least, seemed to severely damage Viktor.
It also separated him from the rest of his family, and quickly a group of zombies took it upon themselves to separate them further by attempting to eat them.
It was no coincidence that they chose Viktor as their main target.
He was the one with the highest level and Scoins.
Suddenly Viktor was surrounded by a mysterious dark energy, which deflected the lethal blow.
Moreover this energy healed him, but he felt considerably fatigued.
His eyes were mixed with the concentration of this dark aura, the red of the blood in his veins and blood that seemed to be from a blood spill in his eyes.
Zombies and more undead were already being attracted by the smell of blood and noises of tasty humans.
Viktor began to scream loudly and chop heads off with mammoth force...
Which of course attracted more zombies.
He shouted to his family:
"RUN AWAY!!!"
"I'LL BE FINE!!!"
His sister and mother didn't want to, but his injured father grabbed them and brought them to their senses:
"With our current state we can't do anything!!!"He shouted.
He was already seriously injured and his wife and daughter were exhausted from using all their mana.
He dragged them by the arm and tried to go to the opposite side.
"With this we will help him more!!!" He spoke, as he turned to look as quite a few people followed them.
"Let's divide the attention on us, let's trust that he'll be able to handle that woman."
"She's low level, and you saw the aura that surrounded him, surely he can win" Akiba wanted to believe this, affirming it.
The problem was that there were still people and zombies mixed together in total chaos.
All trying to take his family's life, zombies and crazy humans were surrounding them...
They couldn't unite so they tried to divert attention to their son and find each other later.
Hoping that both Viktor and themselves manage to escape from this hell.
***
After a while, in Viktor's perspective, everything was strange...
He felt an incomparable pain, an indescribable and distressing sensation, but at the same time, he felt ecstatic.
He felt a strange pleasure in this strange sensation of non-bodily pain...
Strangely his body, which was slowly being bitten, pierced, and torn apart in every way he could have imagined, did not feel as strange or painful as this new aura.
And soon, a notification arrived that in the midst of this situation he did not know if it made him more confused or clarified his condition:
[ System(Private): Accumulations of malignant chaotic energies are detected.
-Pure chaotic energy is being rustically controlled:
-Information:Malignant energy conversion control capability:
10/100. ]
-Information: Pure chaotic energy is being used to help the user temporarily restore and strengthen the body.
Malignant chaotic energy is corrupting the host's surroundings, causing damage to both the host itself and its enemies]
-Warning: If the conversion limit is exceeded the user will be rewarded for his efforts with immediate death.
-Try to avoid fights that require exceeding the conversion limit, even if you die first. ]
He kept fighting, trying to block some attacks but also had to use his own body as his shield and weapons as he could not block all the blows.
He would break the zombies' teeth with his elbow at the cost of taking a bite out of them.
He struck with his ax, removing the head of his enemies at the cost of piercing their arm or chest...
The bloody battle lasted a few minutes, but for those involved it seemed eternal.
In the midst of this fight as he chopped off the heads of his enemies, Viktor had already realized why they wanted to kill him:
[System(Personal):
-You have killed a level 3 user:
-1000 Scoins transferred from the user.
-500 experience points gained ]
Several similar notifications echoed through his head every time he killed a human. He realized it also because his eyes didn't see hatred or anything similar until recently...
It was simply because they didn't hate them or look at them with hostility...
Only endless greed was reflected in their eyes. They only thought of killing them on the spot, without hesitation.
They simply spoke this in one night, so it was impossible to see it before they spoke it.
In the morning it was too late to notice.
Viktor, who did not know to what extent greed could be so bad, did not find the aura they emitted strange.
They just seemed like people who were looking to get ahead...
But he didn't realize that they were obsessed to an extreme enough to kill humans who didn't harm them without hesitation.
Although he had become somewhat accustomed to his new "sixth sense," he still didn't understand it well enough to tell exactly what was good or what was bad.
He did not have the ability to distinguish something that might be good but is bad as the desire for advancement taken to a point of extreme greed.
These people just saw the murder of a human as something normal, they saw Viktor and his family like a cow they were going to sacrifice, without rancor but they still wanted to kill them.
This is why Viktor did not see clearly that they had bad intentions.
They were psychopaths who kill without rancor or any other reason than small benefits.
Jessie especially surprised him, he even realized that Jessie really liked the way he was.
But she still tried to murder him, just out of greed, without any slightest resentment. It wasn't that they needed his points or his food.
With effort, in the system they could get something like that. They just wanted to progress without effort, aiming for easier targets.
But he wasn't going to let them take it as an easy target!!
Using the zombies and their human enemies as a shield, almost the whole family managed to escape to an area that looked like a small forest, which took them hours to reach.
Of course, all except for Viktor...
