Chapter 11 - Convince Viktor.

There was something really remarkable with the 3rd update:

The investment system, is one of the multiple layers of the system.

Unfortunately, Viktor did not have enough Scoins yet, and this function was not urgent for him either. It was a system function, in which you could invest all kinds of things. The most notable ones, mana and Scoins.

Also at this point you could use the Syscon Web, the web of the system, practically free to see publications (With 10 Scoins you could see publications worldwide).

Chatting privately was also much cheaper, although you still had to pay. Everything was obviously limited to a global level, that is, planet earth was the limit.

You could pay into the system with investments to get something you wanted from the store. Unfortunately the basic level was quite restricted, but it was still useful. You could buy valuable potions and so on with just mana.

Scoins worked differently, by investing them, you could get certain things that could be useful, things that were not in the store. For example, a single use of the transportation skill.

This took several days in which you had to wait to get what you wanted and also, it could fail, but it was very useful to have one for critical situations.

In a way, by spending Scoins on this, you were investing in someone's ability (in this case, and for the moment it is only possible in the system itself) to create something with few possibilities.

You could lose the investment, but you could also gain something very valuable.

There was also a lock on the option to invest in other people's projects, but this was a more advanced function, currently blocked.

Also at this level of system, free exchange with system users was allowed, but they had to be at a distance where they could see each other's eyes.

At level 2 it was possible but you needed to pay if you wanted to initiate an exchange.

Luckily if you were a member of a party, the leader could choose to whom to transfer the rewards earned by the team, which is what they did to buy the skills of their sister and mother.

His family still did not upgrade the level system, as Viktor could use the functions for them.

Viktor also used the other points they had, buying a basic battle ax for 100 points.

This was quite expensive, but Viktor believed it was worth it. This ax had a metal handle and was sharper than the previous one.

In addition, it had a +2 damage function. Viktor didn't understand it very well, but when he used it he realized that it was really something useful for him.

They finally made it to the supermarket closest to his parents' apartment.

There they found that the doors were broken and the zombies had entered. This was fortunate for them, because if there were people it was going to be difficult to get food without resorting to dirty ways.

It was obvious that they were not the first survivors to get supplies from here, as there was limited stuff. But it was enough for them. They grabbed 2 shopping carts and loaded it as much as they could.

Then they walked home while dragging these. It was a bit difficult as the noise attracted a lot of monsters, but they made it. Experience was plentiful and Viktor was only 5 percent short of level 4. He also purchased level 1 of the investment system.

Before he had gotten less experience because his family was lower level than him and he had chosen to give them more percentage.

For level 4, 800 experience was required. He had killed abundant amounts of monsters because before the leveling up of the world, they gave less experience.

June 15, 2033.

The family was careful these last 2 weeks, so they didn't move as fast as they could, but they weren't slacking off either.

It's just that with the technological change that took place, everyone paid more attention to their surroundings and took some time to see if anything else was going on.

Although the situation in the UK was not so bad compared to the rest of the world, they certainly still had a big crisis.

Several countries had paid to publish requests for help, because they had already fallen into complete chaos.

Viktor's family was at home and saw on Syscon Web this kind of news. Lucia, who had been quiet and calm since this started, finally spoke up:

"It's terrible, it's getting worse and worse..."

"My friends, the grandparents...uncles..."

"I know the grandparents, aunts, and uncles live far away, and for now they are fine... But my friends live nearby..."

Lucia and her parents had been in contact with the rest of her family, so she knew they were safe, but she couldn't contact her friends, so she was very nervous.

"Do you think we could help them...We are stronger now thanks to Vik..."

She said this while looking at Viktor, her parents spoke next.

"I think we should leave this decision to your brother... "said his father.

His mother nodded, "He is the one who helped us."

His sister looked at him with hope, she knew what he was like...She knew he was not very kind and did not like charity...She also knew he was selfish, he would not care too much about other people, even though he did not wish evil to others. But they were her friends...

Viktor smiled as he touched his head. Then he sighed, averting his gaze.

"I've told you a thousand times...You trust people too easily."

Those words hurt her sister, she thought he was going to reject her, she looked down disappointed.

But she also knew that with some people he was right. All the boyfriends she introduced with expectations and excitement to her family, all looked at her as a piece of meat that they could chew up and throw away. Her dating relationships were a disaster...But she still wanted to trust her friends.

"But I trusted very little in anyone..." He said.

"I would probably never trust many of your friends, but for me, that you can still trust some people, that you still look for trustworthy people, is certainly something I never did and I admire..."

"I know that if I looked as hard as you do I might find some precious people, but I also know that I would find a lot of betrayals and disappointments."

"But your hopes for others is something I don't want to put an end to..."

"If I were to say that I trust that no matter what happens someone will not betray me, it would be you."

"Let's try" He said.

His sister before he finished speaking was already crying and had hugged her brother tightly.

"Uhh, ugh, thank you, thank you very much!!!"(Lucia)."But I'm still the same person...if you really want them to follow us that's fine. We can also look for them; but they have to follow certain rules!"(Viktor).

"Everyone, including you!"(Viktor).

His sister looked at him not knowing what rules he was talking about, but she finally nodded.

"The first thing you should do is tell me honestly who you would trust the most and who you would trust the least..."(Viktor)

"I don't want to live with the kind of backstabbing dogs you had for boyfriends" (Viktor).

"They should never sleep near you unless you trust them as much as you trust your parents."(Viktor)

"And you ABSOLUTELY should always sleep with guns, and gripping the hilt with your hand" (Viktor).

"You can hide it under the pillow. I do that."(Viktor)

"But they will see me as a crazy person who distrusts everyone..."(Lucia).

"Tell them that I'm the crazy one who forced you!"(Viktor)
