Chereads / Prince Noah: Mage with Infinite Mana / Chapter 6 - Monster Invasion

Chapter 6 - Monster Invasion

At the end of the town, a huge pond was formed overnight.

The flow of people in this area was too weak, so of course, not many people saw this pond. When children were playing around, they accidentally stumbled upon this pond.

The pond was filled with clear drops of water. The water was crystal clear, and one could even see how deep the pond was.

While there weren't any fish in this beautiful pond, it looked magical like it was the creation of the gods.

The children who looked at the pond immediately rushed to inform their parents. While the parents didn't believe first, after the continuous request of the kids, the parents left their work and walked to the pond.

When they reached the area, they couldn't help but be speechless and amazed by the pond.

"When did a pond appear here?"

"Is this the creation of the gods?"

"Did gods finally take pity on us and gave us this wonderful pond?|"

"This pond is so beautiful."

No one could believe in their eyes.

"Hey, the empty wells have been filled with water!"

Suddenly, a villager ran around the town happily shouting about the water on the well. The water was created from magic, of course, was hundreds of times fresher, healthier, and clean.

The taste would be distinct and even if someone says water is tasteless. Everyone knew fresh water would be more delicious than water filled with harmful bacteria. Not to mention, there were traces of mana in the water which makes the water of healthier.

"Is this because of the new lord?"

"I remember, he was casting spells on the water in this area. I didn't care, but now I think about it, he was doing something weird."

"Our new lord is the incarnation of gods!"

Being normal people and living in rural areas, they didn't know what a mage truly can do. But, they took the work of Noah as magnanimous work instead of heaven-defying.

A sense of respect grew in people's hearts, and they began looking at Noah like he was a god.

On the other hand, Noah who was sleeping soundly woke up. He looked at his surroundings and his mind became.

He stood and stretched his body. He looked at the collection of books and browsed it. He took a book that describes the function of the human body and decided to check it.

He took the book and walked into the bathroom. While showering he read the book. Being a book about magic, the material it used way different than a normal book.

The book had water resistance, heat resistance, tear resistance, and mouse resistance. Even if the house break its teeth and tore its nail, it couldn't even scratch the book. That much tough it was.

The content in the book was relatively simple. It explained how mana flowed in the body. One could enhance their body without using a magic circle, and by just tweaking with the flow of mana.

But, strengthening from the magic circle proved more efficient than tweaking these mana-flowing veins, so not many mages are fond of it.

The spell related to the human body is simple than that of elemental and other magic.

There only needs 50 mana lines and two mana branches. The mana lines had to be modified according to the body area. If one needs to strengthen their arms, they need to modify the spell, if they need to strengthen their legs, they need to modify the spell accordingly.

There are even full-body spells, that are knowns as buffs. Buffs spells are more complex, but their effect is good too.

After showering and finishing reading the book, Noah walked to the dining room.

"Good morning, lord. We have prepared your breakfast."

The maid was very respectful, even more, respectful than before.

Noah didn't notice anything and ate his breakfast. After eating, he pondered on what to do. He needs to earn money and money will come from taxes and business.

While the area was rural, there was still taxes. The townsfolk were carrying pressure in their head every day and the mayor carried even bigger pressure.

If the tax doesn't reach the capital on time, there would be what one can say, a massacre. If one town, village, or even a city couldn't provide the tax on time, the officials would punish them. There would only be 3 chances before the town would fully be wiped out, and no one could even take out a word to retort.

Cruel, this was the situation as the capital held the most power. It's not like the modern earth, where people could protest, here protest means death. A single click of a finger from a magician could kill thousands of ordinary people.

If only powerful mages supported those places, it would be idiotic to even open their mouth.

Thankfully, Noah was the prince. And the prince took the authority to take the taxes and there was no need to transfer it to the capital.

Unless the new king changes the policy, there won't be anything to fear until Noah is here. If Noah didn't do anything, the people would get to live their life peacefully to some extent.

"Let's travel to some other places. It would be better if I could find some monster lairs." Noah muttered to himself.

Suddenly, a soldier hurriedly knocked on the door. He was at least polite not to barge inside the room directly. Well, not polite, but due to respect and fear.

The more one respects the person, the more one would fear them. Take worshipping gods as an example. People would even empty their savings to perform rituals to make the gods happy.

"Enter," Noah said.

He was in his room deciding his next course of action. He wanted to try growing crops to decrease the expense of buying foods from other places.

"Pardon me, milord." The soldier bowed politely. From the look of his appearance, he was sweating like crazy. He looked panicked and wanted to explain things quickly.

"It's ok." Noah didn't care much.

"Then, please let me report you the situation. We are facing a huge threat. Monsters have been attacking us from the south. There are probably more than 1000 green goblins, 500 fierce wolves, and more than 200 brown orcs. They would reach this town in less than 3 days, we have fewer days to prepare. The most terrifying is, a Magic Lion. The magic lion could cast basic magic spells and could command those monsters. We need to prepare immediately for the battle. We need to retreat the villagers!"

Noah blinked repeatedly.

'Such good coincidence exists!'

Noah couldn't help but laugh in his heart.

"So, we are facing monster invasion, huh."
