“Where did they send you to? Don't they have guards that go on errands? Aren't we supposed to guide the palace?”
“Hmm,” he nodded. “I don't get it. They asked me to return to the village to collect some things they sent to our village head.”
“But you are not a messenger!”
“Those were the exact words I told our leader when he gave me the orders. But he claimed it was a privilege to be singled out by the kings.” Grog shrugged, “I guess it's a win-win. I can visit our parents before I return.”
“Send my regards to them. I wish I can also leave with you,” I sighed. “I miss them more than life itself.”
“Don't worry," he ruffled my hair. “It won't be long until our serving time is over. Well, return home, to their loving arms.”
“So, you don't know when you will return?” I pouted.
