On Aizen's side, after they separated from gojo they kept speeding through the forest towards their destination where they will set up a trap for any retreating enemies, and not long after they reached it and they laid in wait.
As Aizen hid atop a tree bench he couldn't stop himself from thinking about that man named Gojo from before.
He looked like any other ninja from the Sōsuke clan, above average in looks, but still not enough to warrant any attention.
'Just what is it about him that's bothering me so much?' thought aizen.
Even in his previous life when he was just a normal man his instincts and observation skills were still top-notch, not to mention this life when he is what's considered by his previous world standards a superhuman.
But, the biggest part of his suspension has to do with his soul, ever since that weird change happened to it, not only have his perception and processing skills improved but also his intuition.
And right now his intuition was screaming at him that there was something wrong with gojo and that he couldn't ignore it.
'But, if he's really as dangerous as I think he is it wouldn't be wise to get anywhere near him, how can I investigate him without alerting him?' he thought.
*rustle*
Just as Aizen was lost in his thoughts a sound of leaves rustling was heard from in front of them alerting the entire squad that laid in wait for their enemies.
No one said a word as they all looked in the direction of the sound.
About 200 meters (218yd) in front of them in the direction of the clan headquarters a small squad was speeding towards them and before long they'll reach the place where they set up the explosive tags.
But just as they were about to enter the explosive tags range the man leading them, a guy with black hair, brown eyes and a strong build stopped suddenly making the others behind him also stop.
He observed the area ahead of him vigilantly suddenly his eyes widened, but as they did the middle-aged man who Gojo called Yuki previously made a hand sign and shouted, "WE'VE BEEN EXPOSED ATTACK", just as he finished yelling the area in front of the enemies exploded due to the hand signs yuji made causing wood fragments to fly in all direction like bullets injuring some enemies.
Aizen along with all the others who were behind trees and thus didn't suffer any damage immediately revealed themselves and started engaging in battle.
A thing to note about small-scale fights like these is that ninjas aren't concerned about saving their chakra as much as in big-scale battles which in turn means a lot of jutsus are going to be used.
Their squad leader, Yuki, was engaging the leader of the other squad far from the main battlefield, all they could hear were the sounds of explosions and metal crushing against metal coming from their direction, but no one had the time to worry about it; everyone was preoccupied with their own battle.
Aizen wasn't any different, in front of him was a guy of about 22 years old looking at him mockingly as if he didn't put him in his eyes at all.
"Sorry kid, nothing personal, if it were any other situation I'll knock you out at most I really don't want to kill a child if possible, but we can't have you reporting back to your clan." said the man facing aizen
Aizen sighed in his heart because although his enemy seemed to say it in a mocking tone but with his years of experience he could tell that the guy in front of him really meant it, he really didn't want to kill a kid, and if it were any other child there wouldn't have been anything wrong with his words, but what caught Aizen's attention was something else.
'He doesn't want me to report back!? Does that mean the clan is fine and I was wrong!?... NO, I don't know how but I just know that it isn't as simple as this, they're trying to trick us into believing that it's just a theft problem, if my gusset is correct they must have sent this small squad here to distract us so we don't suspect anything while their main force must be somewhere else.' thought aizen his gaze becoming colder.
'But, he was right about one thing, I am still not strong enough to take on him, he can indeed kill me, of course, that is if I don't use my trump card, and what better time is there to use it than now.' Just as Aizen thought about that he lifted his right hand performing a one-hand sign jutsu.
Just as the jutsu activated the world seemed to stand still, shurikens and Kunais were flying in the air along with the jutsus but they seemed to be frozen there, people who were in mid-jump also seemed to be frozen, it was the body flicker jutsu.
The Aizen of now compared to when he first used the body flicker jutsu in his cellar was way stronger, and it was now showing with how things seemed to be frozen still unlike the last time where they appeared to be moving really slowly.
But, if someone paid close enough attention they would notice that they were in fact moving but it was so slow that it was almost unnoticeable and that's why they seemed frozen.
As Aizen activated the jutsu he didn't move, he first stood still and observed everything around him as he thought, 'I might as well call it "THE WORLD" from now on.'
(AN: For those who are confused about what "THE WORLD" mean it's from jojo bizarre adventures, SPOILER ALERT, the villain Dio have this power called "THE WORLD" where he literally stops time so yeah)
Looking in front of him he couldn't help but have a shiver on his back, the man that was just standing a distance from him less than a second ago was now right in front of his face, with a Kunai in his hand just a hair away from his throat ready to slice it open.
'F*ck, I didn't even see him move, if I didn't hurry to use body flicker I would be dead already.' thought Aizen as he moved really slowly, almost as slow as everyone around him, away from the Kunai on his neck.
This was a method he spent a long time practicing and perfecting in his cellar before getting it right, while in this state of frozen time where only he can move normally he will move just slightly faster than everyone around him.
This way people would only think that he is a little bit faster and not a monster which will in turn grunted his safety.
And secondly, he discovered that if he moved slower he would consume less energy and he will stay in this state for much longer.
He had another plan altogether but due to his limited knowledge and the time he spent in this world he couldn't implement it, and that was to modify the body flicker technique and control how much he uses to vitalise his body, so as to create a weaker version of what is happening now.
That way he will have complete control over it and he can go as fast or as slow as he possibly wants, not like now where he is just faking it.
