After the treaty between Atlantis and the Divine Isle, the news reached the rest of the world. Ranni naturally knew as well. She visited me in Atlantis soon after and quickly became friends with Queen Mera. Ranni was fascinated with the newborn and shot me an expectant look that I understood.
Would now be a good time?
A thought for another moment.
The U.N. was uneasy as Atlantis was an extremely strong nation. As it has magic and advanced technology. The alliance between us would threaten many people. I watched to see what the reactions would be.
Most countries did nothin unexpected. Simple boosting of defense budgets and the like. Malkovia was the only one that had odd movements. Kandaq was just moving weapons around more. As Intergang was based there. Teth-Adam didn't care it seems.
Which is why I am confused on why he is coming over to the Divine Isle. He has been quiet this entire time. No movements from him despite all the actions I have done. Yet, now he chooses to suddenly come find me? Despite being confused, I still got off my throne and stood in waiting atop my tower.
His hypersonic flying came to a halt as he gently landed atop my tower.
"Welcome to the Divine Isle Teth-Adam. Although you have not been invited.", I say.
He scoffs, "A god needs no invitation. I can go where I wish."
I nod at his words, "Your words carry truth. A god certainly does not need an invitation to go anywhere. If the "where" is a mortal land that is. This is the Divine Isle, a holy land belonging to another god. Between gods, there must be etiquette between us."
He hums at my words, "Etiquette between gods. I can understand this. I have only met false gods, wizards, and demons. I was not sure you were a real god though. I will not return without an invitation or notice."
I grin, "Good. I can understand what you mean though. All the Earth gods are either dead or have retreated from the mortal world. As I understand, you have little no real interaction with an actual god such as I. Superman is just an Alien. Wonder Woman is a demigod. Shazam is just a strong magical/semi-divine being. Even you, are not a real god. This, you know."
He grumbles, "Yes, but I am close as one can get to a god. So why not proclaim myself as such? I have divine powers, and I am worshipped."
I shrug, "I suppose your logic isn't wrong. It is just that you've never taken the next step."
He raises an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
I explain, "You use borrowed divine powers that are not your own. You have worshippers and your body does have divine energy. Why not discard your borrowed power and form your own divinity? You would be weaker for a short while, but grow stronger than you have ever been later on. Which should be worth it. Time is nothing to a god. Time should be nothing to you."
Teth-Adam fell into thought. He sighed, "You are right. But this power..."
"Is your last connection to your son?", I finish.
He looks at me sternly.
I sigh, "Teth-Adam, it has been so many years. Your son has long been at peace. He was a good boy. He is enjoying an afterlife in paradise. Is it not time to let him go?"
His expression softens, "I...can't. My son was everything to me. Without him, nothing matters. To let go of this connection to him. Is too much to ask."
I frown, "Then allow me to help you Teth-Adam. I will help you let it all out. I will help you achieve peace. It is always painful to see someone writhe in their own sadness."
Before he can ask what I mean. I hit him with a Stone of Gurranq. He was knocked off the tower and I followed wearing nothing but some warrior gaiters and pauldrons. I appeared in front of him and punched him in the face.
He recovers in anger and tries to strike back. I duck under his right hook and uppercut his ribs. I sent him into the ocean.
Time to fight Teth-Adam.
