The cries and wails of mother who lost their child made Jihan's blood curl. He won't be able to unhear this sound.
He watched as the women slumped on the floor trying to cradle her child's body then moved his eyes to the messenger.
Jihan could not see this anymore, he wanted to leave right away.
"Okay Na-ahem, Now that we are done with the introduction part."
The being flicked his hand and everyone's attention was diverted towards the blue screen.
"Now is the time to buy what you want, Na-ahem."
The blue screen displayed Food, weapons, medicine, etc.
"So now who wants to come first?"
"I will"
Jihan watched as Rajeev collected his lackeys cards and then stepped forward. He watched as he bought weapons and food with that. Jihan immediately figured out what he was trying to do.
"M-me to!"
"Ah! I wanna buy food too."
Within a few minutes there were already people divided into groups.
The first group was Rajeev's group, along with that bully like gym guy and few others, they looked like leaders. Rajeev was taking an active role while everyone listened and gave their inputs. The second group was comprised of Rajeev's lackeys and other people. A boy from the medical group also approached Rajeev as they decided on which medicines to buy. There were mothers who lost their kids consoling each other and deciding to work had so that they can revive their children.
They knew it was impossible but as if an invisible mental mechanism on work didn't allow them to believe that.
Then suddenly everyone looked at him making Jihan flinch.
"Ah what the hell? He bought nothing?"
"That poor?"
"What will he eat? will we have to provide for him?"
"I mean why should we?"
"I know right. It's weird."
Jihan calmly heard everything and didn't react.
He watched as the messenger smirked at him, his eyes glowing with excitement.
"Well then Na-ahem looks like you all are done. Now I will give out the quest!"
With then he clapped the woods and soon a big screen was out in display.
....
QUEST
~Get out of the Forest and join the main quest~
~Time limit- 10 days.
~Difficulty level- Moderately Hard.
~Reward- 500 stars each.
~Failure- 100 stars penalty.
...
There were hushed gasps about the quest and as people discussed about it within their groups. Jihan sighed after loosing all attention.
"Wait, what is this main quest?"
"You will know in due time, Na-ahem."
"Also Na-ahem, one more thing! the stars in one's card will be transferred to yours if you kill that person, this was the last rule hmm yes now then fellas, I hope at least one of you survives, May the Goddess of Tyche be in your favor, Na-ahem."
Jihan flinched at the name.
"...."
Looks like he will be flinching a lot.
After that the messenger vanished.
Once he did the gates of all door of metro opened.
Everyone moved towards the exit and were in awe at what they saw.
"Holy shit we are around 150 meters above from the ground!"
Jihan looked back at the man behind him. He looked in his late 40's and had a half bald head. Noticing Jihan's stare he frowned at him.
"I am a engineer."
Jihan nodded.
"Okay Okay listen up everyone, here's the plan."
Jihan had to admit that the Rajeev guy looked pretty heroic with a sword in his hand. It somewhat matched his temperament, while Jihan with a huge bag on his back looked like a hobbit.
"....."
Jihan decided to ignore this miserable feeling and focused back on Rajeev.
"We will use our supplies to rest here and give everyone time to assimilate what happened, build up our strength and then we will leave the metro. Now I will ask everyone to donate a piece of clothing they have on their bodies we need to make a rope that can help us get out of here. Also I would like to ask help from people who are experts in making a knot to come forward. Those who can help in sending messages to other bogeys, gather around since we need everyone's help in this. Also it will be helpful if someone helped in cleaning up....the blood....put the children below the seats."
Rajeev took a long breath after this.
"I know it's hard but we don't have an option only if we are able to survive that we can have hope to bring back our loved ones because nothing looks impossible in the world we are entering."
Rajeev glanced at Jihan making him flinch.
"And lastly, everyone is responsible for their own survival, no one is allowed to make a fuss those who do will be punished. Any questions?"
"A-ah that, what will be this p-punishment?"
"For the punishment, well, let's just say they will be not under my jurisdiction, you guys can do whatever you want with them."
Everyone looked at each other and finally their eyes landed on Jihan.
"...."
'The world is really unfair to the poor thankfully he is not.'
Jihan sighed then opened up his bag and took out a pair of gloves and silently started picking up the bodies. He ignored the pitying and gloating eyes on him. Soon after some more people who had no weapons joined him hoping they would be helped outside, after all they are in a forest.
Suddenly someone stretched out a piece of cloth to Jihan.
"Oi, pretty boy clean the blood too."
Everyone around him seemed to loath him for some reason and Jihan didn't understand what wrong he did do. He was not offended by the work given to him, but why the hell was he a pretty boy.
"...."
"I am 6ft mister don't call me pretty boy."
The Man looked him up and down and sneered before throwing the rag at him and leaving Jihan standing there. Jihan silently bent down to clean off the blood. With his never ending stamina it was easy for him.
"Umm, excuse me?"
Jihan looked up at the girl standing near his working area.
"T-that could you lend me the gloves? A-ah it's just-"
"Sorry, I can't."
Jihan said politely and went back to his work.
But the girl's eyes watered as she looked around in embarrassment.
"T-that I suffer from Hemophobia, fear of blood-"
"And I suffer from OCD."
The girl's face blanked at Jihan's words.
Jihan then waved his gloved hands towards her.
"Can't you see carrying gloves with me on a normal day? Do you think that's normal? I have severe OCD. I am sorry I can't help you."
The girl bowed her head and quickly went away from Jihan. She looked like one of the medical students. They all turned to look at Jihan with pointed eyes. Even Rajeev was now looking at him a bit weirdly.
"…."
Jihan calmly turned back to his work. He could perceive everyone whispering about him but he chose to ignore it.
"Ah seriously people these days."
"How could he not even help a girl."
"The world is cruel."
"Young Lady don't be sad, here I have some plastic bags with me."
"Ah, then I will not be polite aunty thank you."
"Oh my don't thank me, we have to help each other after all."
"Tha-that's right! Please come to me if you need any medical help! I might not be an expert but I can help you with minor things."
The girl told the women in late 40's shyly who in turn sneered at Jihan.
"…."
Jihan really did not understand what was wrong with these people.
After doing his work Jihan opened the gloves and put them down. He felt a tug and looked at his right. An 11 year old was holding the end of his bomber jacket.
"That mister can you lend me these gloves?"
Jihan blinked at the boy timidly standing there. Very hesitatingly he drew out a half eaten bag of chips and presented it to Jihan.
"You can exchange it with this."
Jihan looked at the reluctant kid in front of him. A smile broke on his lips shocking the boy in front of him.
"…ar"
He whispered something but Jihan ignored it.
Then he took the pack of chips with a foxy smile and handed the boy with a new pair of gloves.
"This is the last I have, keep it safe."
The boy looked shock and happy and thanked Jihan many times while Jihan munched the pack of chips.
"What the hell?! If you had one why didn't you share it with her?!"
One of the medical students spoke up as he closed in on Jihan. He was wearing spectacles and gave of a very scholarly vibe with his white medic coat, but the sword in his hand looked equally threatening.
"Because she is not cute."
The girl who came over behind the student flinched at Jihan's answer and her face disorrted.
"What non-"
"Didn't you guys just said that no one would help no one and that if someone causes a ruckus should be punished."
Jihan directed this to Rajeev who was quiety looking at the commotion. Rajeev quietly looked at him and shrugged.
"You are of no use though."
Rajeev told him coldly.
"These guys will be responsible for our health and well being but what about you? Yeah you cleaned. the floor so ok, here."
With that Rajeev threw a packet of cup noodles at Jihan.
"There you go. Now you have nothing to do with us."
The medical student grinned viciously at Jihan.
"Oi, hand over your bag, it looks like it has a lot of things, then we might let you go if we find something good."
Jihan calmly stood up, packed the cup noodle in his bag along with the phone and card took out his axe, then he put the bag on his back.
Suddenly everyone turned around and looked at them on edge, as if waiting for a fight break out.
They were all eyeing the bag like hyenas.
"….."
Jihan, as a transmigrator was not at all used with the temperament of people around him. It has been less than 12 hours since the calamity yet they all adapted so fast.
Was this so called Human Nature?
Jihan took a long breath.
Whatever it is he felt glad that he didn't have single voice inside him asking to help these fuckers.
"Not a chance."
With that Jihan pushed them away and jumped out of the window.
