When Ruby was sitting in the carriage with Matthew, she immediately wrote a question to her husband.
"Did you plan to release Leland from slavery since the beginning?"
Ruby couldn't stop smiling as she looked at Matthew. Her hands moved even faster as she wrote because of feeling excited every time she talked about Leland.
Matthew also smiled when he saw his wife look happy. "You look sad every time you see him, so I thought you'd be even sadder if we left him at the inn."
"But as I remember, we didn't carry that many gold coins with us, right? So, where did you get the money to save Leland?" Ruby asked confusedly.
Matthew answered casually. "Oh, I owe King Truman."
Ruby widened her eyes in surprise.

"Does he truly want to help us without asking for different things?"
Because after Ruby heard that Truman Ayton liked to take advantage of people in trouble, Ruby was skeptical that Truman would be willing to lend 5000 gold coins quickly.
