"Cloe from today onwards you aren't allowed to shout or yell at anyone be it me ,my mother or Stephanie , especially Stephanie ,do you understand?"Stephen asked ,"why haven't you mentioned Beatrice and John?"Cloe asked ,she wouldn't be left behind.
"That's because you never shout or yell at them ,"Stephen replied,"don't try to change the topic,"Stephen said , he was now getting to know his wife better ,she would always change the topic of the so as to make the situation favour her.
Cloe decided to keep quiet when she realized that her husband was aware of what she intended to do,"you aren't supposed to argue with me in front of the kids,"Stephen declared, he was shocking her , where did he take before coming home?
"Aren't I supposed to speak in this house ?"Cloe asked ,"where did you hear me saying that you aren't supposed to speak ,I do remember clearly what I have said ,I said that you aren't supposed to argue with me in front of the kids ,I also said that you aren't allowed to shout or yell while you are still my wife,"Stephen repeated himself.
"Thirdly , Stephanie is my child ,my parents and I have raised her from the day she was born ,she doesn't know much about her mother expect for what my parents and I have told her about her mother ,you aren't supposed to mention her whatever the case ,"Stephen said ,then stopped and looked at Cloe who was admiring her nails.
"Are you listening to me or are you admiring your nails?"Stephen asked her ,"don't tell me that am not allowed to look at my nails anymore?"Cloe asked ,she was telling the heavens to return her her husband in her heart.
"I don't care if you admire your nails or not , I just wanted to be sure that you are listening to what I was saying ,"Stephen said to her,"of course am listening ,"Cloe replied,"if you were listening then repeat to me what I said earlier ,"Stephen said ,he kept quiet and looked at her , Cloe went ahead and repeated everything that Stephen has said.
Cloe just finished speaking when someone knocked on their bedroom door ,"dad , mother , the dinner is ready ,were are waiting for the both of you in the dinning room,"it was Beatrice who has come to call them for dinner.
Stephen looked at Cloe ,he wasn't done talking yet but he couldn't ignore the fact that he was farmished ,"Beatrice dear ,we will be right there,"Stephen replied to her ,"ok , I will get going,"Beatrice said and left, Cloe thought that Stephen has just said that to get rid of Beatrice.
"Where are going to have dinner but we aren't done talking ,we will continue after dinner ,be a good girl and don't cause trouble during dinner !"Stephen said , Cloe almost smiled when he called her a good girl but she controlled herself ,she didn't want to make it so obvious that she was happy.
The both of them arrived at the dinning room , John has already started eating ,he was afraid if she waited until his mother arrived at the dinning ,she would cause a lot of trouble and he would be forced to go to bed with his stomach empty.
Stephanie , Beatrice and John were suprised when Cloe didn't try to cause trouble ,she concentrated on eating her food as if her life depended on it, John refused to believe that she was his mother,"dad ,did you get mother exchanged?"John asked when he could no longer keep quiet.
"What do you mean by that John?"Stephen asked,of course he knew what he was talking about but was only pretending,"she is very quiet today , isn't like the mother that I know,"John said , Stephanie and Beatrice agreed with him.
"Where are your manners John ,who taught you to talk while eating , just stop talking and concentrate on eating your food,"Cloe scolded John, Stephanie , Beatrice and John looked at each other with their mouths wide opened, they couldn't believe what they just heard.
Cloe continued eating her food in silent even if the kids were staring at her as if she was an alien , whenever she wanted to say something she could notice Stephen staring at her secretly ,she would rather keep what she wanted to say to herself instead of provoking Stephen.
The dinner tonight was very delicious and there was peace also , there were no arguments, even the household stuff were suprised , they have never witnessed the family eating so peaceful, everyone eat to their fill compared to previous days.
John decided to talk to her mother after dinner ,"mother don't go yet,"John requested her , Cloe has already stood up and wanted to talk away when her son called her ,she hesitate for a minute before sitting down,"what it is ?"Cloe asked hef son.
"Mother ,what happened to you?"John asked her , Stephanie and Beatrice stopped what they were doing and looked at her , they were all waiting for her answer,"what do you mean by that?"Cloe asked ,she knew what her son was talking about but she didn't want to accept the fact that she was aware of what he was talking about.
"Are you feeling unwell mother ?"Beatrice asked , there was definitely something wrong with her mother , that's the only way they would explain her situation , there was no another explanation, Cloe looked at the kids , they were very curious but she didn't know how to explain herself , even if she did know how to explain ,she couldn't explain while Stephen was shooting daggers at her.
"I was very hungry ,I wanted to eat more food , that's the reason ,"Cloe said ,she looked at them , stood up immediately and left ,she didn't want them to ask her more questions that she couldn't answer.
Stephanie , Beatrice and John looked at her as she walked upstairs, they didn't believe anything she said , they then looked at Stephen wanting to ask him to explain what happened to her , when he noticed that there were looking at him ,he stood up immediatly and left.
