The days passed by as Kimi was busy training her new team, fishing, trading or selling those she no longer needed on the forums and staying with her father to help him learn some things.
She provided him with many types of notes to learn from which she said that she had learned on the internet while some things were just what she had left unanswered.
Kimi felt that it was best to tell her father only so much since while he was her father in two of her three lives, her father's real daughter no longer existed and it was not wise to make him overly suspicious.
In her second life, she did got along well with him but they later became distant as she got moved to another location for work.
It was not until later that she found out about her father's death and that was when she returned to Veridian City to say farewell.
After then, she remained there for a while before working tirelessly as an officer with very few rewards but since she got another chance, she was happy to be able to talk with him again and plan out the future they would build.
Growlithe had become level sixteen, Eevee had risen to become level fifteen, Poliwag had risen to become level fifteen, Tangela remained at level eighteen, Ryhorn remained at level twenty while Cubone remained at level twenty.
Those that she had spare and was not using for her main or secondary team were put up on the forums to be sold or traded while she kept trading for many more Feebas.
Growlithe had been spending more time gaining more control of her ember attack during battles so that she could later master other fire type moves more quickly.
There would be a time when she would learn more difficult fire moves and would have to begin to master them from scratch but with her experience with ember, she was able to use that experience and put it towards whatever she may have learned next.
Most moves would be ignored and put aside to never be used again while there would be the set four moves that each Pokémon would use and train in which they could use during their everyday lives and in combat.
Nobody knows quite why there is a limit and even Kimi did not know that truth, perhaps it was just a natural limitation within Pokémon which let them or their trainers select their their evolutionary path that is within them.
Once they learned a move beyond the four main ones, they would have to abandon their experience with one move unless the move they chose to replace it had some similarities which benefitted from that experience and was carried on with the example of bite being upgraded to crunch or ember to flamethrower.
The dark move Bite was her first, Ember was her second, Odor Sleuth was her third while Helping Hand was her second.
Bite allowed for a close attack, Ember a ranged attack, Odor Sleuth helped remove opponents evasiveness and Helping Hand worked well when paired in a duo or a larger team.
Eevee who was level fifteen and often teamed up with Growlithe had a move-set of Quick Attack, Helping Hand, Sand Attack and Tackle.
With them both using helping hand they would be able to improve each other's battle power and when confronted with a ghost type, Eevee would still be able to land a tackle or quick attack but Sand Attack would provide additional assistance to help escape harm.
Poliwag who was kept with her until she had found a suitable water replacement had a move-set of Double Slap, Bubble, Hypnosis and Water Gun
Like the other water types, Kimi wished to pass it on to her father once she had a suitable replacement but it was useful for putting her opponents to sleep with Hypnosis, putting out fires or fighting other fire types.
Tangela was also another temporary one on her team with a move-set of Vine Whip, Mega Drain, Stun Spore and Bind so it played a good supporting role even if it was temporary.
Ryhorn had a move-set of Stomp, Smack Down, Scary Face and Fury Attack as it mainly played a big role as a strong rock and ground type.
Finally Cubone was left with a move-set of Focus Energy, Headbutt, Bone Club and Leer.
Although her team was not completely balanced, it was a decent start for a newly formed team which she had just started raising.
Kimi finished checking the forums and confirmed her trades which were set up then walked out to walk around the city to take in the sights and bid her farewells to the city.
A smartly dressed youth was just about to walk past her but upon seeing her, Growlithe and Eevee by her side, rage filled his eyes and he called out to her. "Halt!"
Kimi turned around with a look of annoyance in her eyes. "Why are you shouting so loudly in the street?"
The youth looked at her coldly and pointed. "I challenge you! I want revenge for what you did last time and I will prove that my skills are far superior to yours!"
Kimi turned to Growlithe who had a look of anger and determination in her eyes. "It is not that I do not want to fight… but what do I even get from battling and beating you? Is it really worth me wasting my time on you?"
The youth arrogantly posed and showed a red stone in his hands. "I was going to use this for my own Growlithe but if you can beat me.. I can give you this."
Kimi nodded and then said. "But what do you want if I lose?"
Since he was so willing to put up a fire stone for the stakes, he must not have good intention and Kimi was proven right as he responded. "I want that Eevee! You won that at the test didn't you?"
Kimi looked towards Growlithe and asked. "Are you prepared to defend your friend and regain your honour?"
Growlithe's eyes shined upon seeing that she was so trusted by Kimi. "Growl! Growlithe!"
In Growlithe's eyes, the youth was an enemy of her and her master, the scar on her face still stung a little when she was reminded of her past.
The victory in the test was not enough to let her feel satisfied and she finally got her chance before they left the city.
Kimi looked at the youth and asked. "So what happened with you exactly? Did you qualify to be sent to another place or are you remaining here?"
The youth snorted and showed disdain towards Kimi. "Follow me, we will go to a place to battle and set our terms. I will be remaining in this city and will be supported to be raised to a high rank unlike someone as useless as you."
Kimi shook her head and looked at his back with pity in her gaze. 'So he is just stuck in one place and may never really get to improve himself. He may have his families backing but without any real skills, he will not make that big of a name for himself. I cannot really remember him from my second life so he must have not been too important.'
Out of the people which were memorable, the youth only briefly appeared and was involved with inflicting and bringing out the emotional wounds of Growlithe but after that, Kimi never saw him again.
By then she was already too busy adjusting to her new life and trying to survive and get a suitable placement.
With the wealth of knowledge which she brought with her to her third life, she could easily have become a breeder or started her own kind of business but she chose to live a little more freely than her previous lives.
When the Pokéball of Eevee and the Fire Stone were placed to the side to be claimed by the winner later, Kimi said to the youth with a calm expression. "If this was back then, we may have lost to you but not this time. We have been preparing together ever since we left that place and have grown stronger. I hope that you have been training too otherwise you will lose here today."
The youth threw out his Pokéball and a Growlithe was revealed so her own Growlithe stepped onto the combat grounds. "Do not think that you have been the only one working hard since that day! I will not lose!"
