Chapter 6 - Testing limits

I returned to my apartment that day with a smile. It was the most joy I had felt in 5 years. Knowing what I and my friends control now, kept me up all night. I felt so childish, but I wasn't bothered.

The next day, we arrived at Linda's place again to test and understand what we now have. She also asked if we felt any uncontrollable joy last night. They all nodded and figured out she was using the book last night. I was also asked if I was thinking about the fact we suddenly agreed to share the book even though it was originally mine.

"TRUTH IS" she began. " I saw you on Friday when that man flung you into the sky with him, so when I saw the man again at school I knew something was up and it was definitely due to this book as you were so leader on getting it. We may have had a good time yesterday, but I genuinely don't believe we should miss using this. I was in my lab last night trying to find any history around it but it is shrouded in mystery, even the material is unknown. But there was one thing I found." we all listened in for what she was about to say. " any time you write something no matter if in pen pencil marker or even paint it will occur yes"

"We know that already," Lucy claimed, acting sassy to seal the embarrassment that happened last night.

" Sure," replied Linda, " but there was a pungent, mind-numbing smell that made me feel weird inside. Unfortunately, we can not find any reason this has happened other than that the book is quite old and was in a bad environment before Lucas's discovery but you found it in the

school so I am guessing the teachers are aware of it being there and must have not cared for it, but the real question is."

she kept talking for an extra 30 minutes about what she learned yesterday but it wasn't too important so I didn't listen, but then she said due to the rules in the front it should be ok to use now, she also added a new rule.

all things affecting someone must be temporary

not going to lie it is a pretty good rule but now we finally get to start the testing phase.

Test one

'we will receive the winning lottery ticket' we went with something simple to start with, but we never got a lottery ticket, but then on we saw someone running around with joy waving one around, I'm guessing we need to be more specific. next, we try something a bit less child-friendly but more specific ' lucy cinder the 7th will suddenly become a super hot adult. that now model could stand up to, and so it happened then for the next hour she was walking round being followed by the creepiest men getting free thing left, right and centre, in a few minutes she was the talk of the town but then people began fighting over her and we had to return home. originally we were planning to return her to her original state by writing it in the book but then remember we could see how long it takes for the effect to last. we wait an extra 3 hours without changing anything.

Test two

'to defeat the dastardly vampire werewolf minotaur beast the great Leon cordless had to sink his body in liquid metal, it hardened and his body was prepared, they began their fight with a massive punch shaking the entire country. the V.W.M.B charged him with his horn but his body was as hard as steal and almost indestructible.

he grabbed the horns of the beasts and began to spin dragging its feet through the mud in a circular motion then flinging it into the sky and finishing with a flurry of punches to the but until it split into bats intending to suck the blood out of him but to there surprise he was immune to it. Leon began to grab and knock out every one of the bats until the V.W.M.B was mobile before finishing with another large punch crushing the body and ending its reign of terror.'

we learn that if what is written takes some time it will happen in real-time. we spent an extra hour messing aro... I mean understanding its abilities whilst doing things like stopping robberies beating up bullies and getting free things from people. we ended the day with a bang and we're going to get ready to go to school tomorrow. I asked if I could have the book back as technically it belongs to me. Linda was cautious about it but in the end, handed it over.

the next day I went back to school with the book in my bag to see everyone standing outside in the rain. The headteacher wasn't wearing his usual grey suit and trousers he actually wasn't wearing much at all. a big crowd surrounded him mocking him and calling him a creep. I saw lucky at the front of it all and then thought to myself it must have been her, she must have explained to everyone about him and their encounter on Saturday, but why?
