"Alright, that's great," Sherman replied with audible relief, settling back into his chair. His tone shifted to one of calculated ease. "What's your situation?"
"Well.. I'm definitely getting fired," Billy admitted. "Did he infer it?" Sherman inquired, and Billy nodded to himself, even though Sherman couldn't see it. "He told me directly," he confirmed.
"I'm assuming you're getting paid for it, right?" Sherman's response was swift. "You have a severance package, am I right?" Billy nodded again. "Yeah, about 5k," he replied, his eyes scanning the city below. "Well then, I guess we're making bank on this deal," Sherman quipped with a hearty laugh. "What about the plan?" Billy asked, his tone now more businesslike. "I'm pretty sure we have to delay the deal once more if we want to ensure our client's request has been fulfilled."
