Although some of the enemy shooters spotted Gerald's movement and fired their energy beams in his direction, his agility and quick reflexes allowed him to reach the tunnel just in the nick of time. The last energy beam struck the ground right behind him, narrowly missing its target by a mere inch.
Safe inside the tunnel, Gerald took a deep breath and turned around to witness the chaos unfolding behind him. The creature at the middle of the building was now shaking violently, its top part becoming unhinged as the wires that held it upright were ripped out from the walls.
"You're full of good ideas, aren't you..." Gerald said with a half-smile as he playfully nudged Ray's shoulder, but his attention remained fixed on the spectacle before them. The monster, swerving back and forth uncontrollably, eventually crashed into the interior walls of the building, its massive body slamming into multiple tunnels that were occupied by enemy forces.
