"Alright, everyone," he addressed the group, his voice steady and commanding. "We need to proceed with extreme caution. We'll enter in groups, one after another. Stay alert and keep your weapons at the ready. We have no idea what lies in wait down there, so be prepared for any eventuality."
Ray felt a pat on his shoulder and turned to find Jay standing beside him. "You're with me, alright?" Jay said, his tone serious. "This is where things get dangerous. So keep your guard up and don't leave my side. You copy?"
"I got it," Ray replied, appreciating Jay's concern. Despite the initial annoyance Jay showed at being paired with him, he was grateful that Jay took the time to explain and look out for him.
