Chapter 14 - 14. Heart Attack II.

Poor guy.

Maximus thought speeding along before he changed his mind and come after them bolting straight to the SUV.

He really had it rough. And he wasn't even all that bad. Well, perhaps they just did painted him one.

Maxim had started the engine and was waiting their return. They had already made an appointment with a doctor arranged by old Lee to fake a miscarriage in order to cover up the lie, but turns out the Miss would be needing some stiches as well.

The next time Nova opened her eyes, she was lying down on a soft bed in a dark room with the only light coming from the window. Glancing around, she realized she was on a hospital bed.

"I'm saved." She relaxed back with a deep breath before she shot up sharply evoking pain from her midriff. " Ow ta ta.. damnit! Where are the boys when I need them?" She needed to know the outcome of her sacrifice. She hope they didn't want ahead with the marriage after she passed out.

Unfortunately, there was no one else in the room with her. She pressed the emergency botton repeatedly until the door opened and the light was switched on. Instead of the nurse, a muscular guy stood in the door way cladded in a grey tanktop staring back at her.

Nova blinked, hoping for her vision to clear away but even after blinking several times, the figure she was all too familiar with still stood there in all of his demonic glory.

"What? Didn't expect to see me?" Oga scowled walking in after shutting the door behind him.

"You... How?"

"Exactly. I would love to know how just after vanishing for a few days, you manage to land yourself in a hospital bed. Really Letty? Just how much is your bad luck? It's a wonder how you are survived without me for four years." Voice sounding darker with each word.

"And leaving without even a good bye, you thought you can get away from me, didn't you? Yet here we are." He made himself comfortable at the edge of the tiny bed glaring at her.

"Why are you here?" His words fell on deaf ears as poor girl was close to having a minor panic attack with creased brows in confusion. Is she back in town T? Did she messed up? Nova panicked ignoring the fact that Oga had taken the chance to visit her, and probably finish her.

"Is that what you are supposed to say to someone that came to visit you? Daring!" His loud snarl brought her attention back to him. "Where are the boys?" She squeaked, holding her tommy that was injured. Thought of having fucked up and failed the mission was a far greater disaster than offending Oga. It was all in other to get away from him after all.

Oga blanched, suddenly feeling bitter crept up his heart and constrict painfully in his chest. "Is that all you care about?" He whispered to himself and got up the bed but Nova was too distracted to care. What brought her attention was the loud bang that came when he slammed the door shut after he left.

Did he leave to get the boys because she requested for them. That would be very considerate... Who is she kidding? He is Oga for a reason. He came to mock her then left when she requested for the boys to spite her. He is someone that kick puppies and push kids in his spare time, not help injured, bedridden patients named Nova.

She no longer try to understand the guy.

Of course Oga wasn't being considerate. No, he was... He was..., He could no longer understand his feelings. He had came all the way to the city because of her. Albeit to make sure her life remain miserable, but he did come for her. They'd just arrived yesterday and booked a hotel before hunting for an apartment, but when Freddie tried to get hold of Nova for whatever reason, she was in the hospital with stab to her stomach.

He rushed here right away and met the boys while she was still unconscious. That was when he found out what happened. Although she had stabbed herself, he couldn't shake off the feeling of wanting to punch the idiot she did that for. Even if it was for money.

At least she had passed the mission. While he was happy for her, he was unbelievably angry for reasons he couldn't understand. He didn't come all the way here to see her injured. On top of that, his presence wasn't even welcomed.

Oga stormed out of the building with a blackened face and an even more darkened heart, and passed the boys who were still cooped up inside the SUV but didn't spare them a glance. Like hell he would send them over. Heck, they should be grateful he didn't roughen them up.

Said boys, even though giddy with the news of successfully carrying out a mission didn't miss the bulk figure of Oga stomping away. He could only be this angry with one person, and that was the young Miss. They weren't stupid to draw his attention to them, so when they were sure he was within a good distance from the car, they dashed inside to meet their heroin.

Even though not much, the reputation of their organization would not be that miserable for a few months.

When the doors opened for the second time and the familiar faces came running in, Nova tried to not think about what might have happened. They just had a perfect timing.

"Young Miss," "you are finally awake." "Thank God."

"Wu..eow!"

"Yeah, I'm alive at the very least." She gave a nervous smile studying their faces. But it held no sadness or concern or even pity.

"Of course Miss," "you had us worried." "Thankfully the stab wasn't deep." "Your sacrifice wasn't in vain."

"Wu.. eow."

"I see. Sooo..." She glanced between the two hoping they'd take the hint. Which they didn't. "Ahem, the mission?"

"You aced it like a pro!" "The wedding was called off,"

"and Mr Benjamin transfered the money an hour ago."

Her eyes widened before screaming her lungs out. Her tommy ached but she didn't care. She did it! She is rich! Peanuts!

Nova couldn't contain her joy as she bounced up and down the bed. Maxwell joined her licking her face. She don't like dogs or their attention, but right now, she can make an exemption.

That night they danced around the room like the overgrown kids that they were and celebrate to their hearts content. The doctor had wisely put them on the last floor away from the other patients fearing they might disturb their peace.
